  1. Hi everyone, I keep seeing that Decimate Defense for Open World PVE. I took Soul Eater, most things seem to die fast, my damage feels great, and I like the sustain (healing) that comes with Soul Eater. Does Decimate Defense just do a lot more damage? Even if things die quick? I would assume for world bosses Decimate Defense would take over. Just trying to figure it out. Thanks.
  2. They need a better catch up mechanic. Especially if they want to sell skins for $$$ to more players.
  3. Pretty much use the griffon and bunny the most. Hop up high...then fly where I need to go.I'm still 20+ days away from gathering old world currency.
  4. For new players what is Dragon Bash, and what does items are locked behind it?
  5. I like some of the other comments so I wanted to include them:New Mount Packs. I feel we are overdo. I would like an Asura themed one. Maybe Mecha.Permanent Mistlock Sanctuary PassNew Dragon wings (colors) that flap when jumping. I would love Whit/Gold Wings. More wings with the jump animation period.
  6. Really wanted to like it. Looks great on Humans... I just prefer Asura's who value their ears, etc. But the non-human versions just look off. I hate hoods on the back of my Asura most of the time.
  7. I9-900K (OC 5GHZ)32 GB 3600 Ram2080 GTXSuper fast 2 TB NVME hard drives Gains were not nearly as noticeable going from my 6 year old system to this one. I think the lack of Multithread/Core support really hurts this title. I am tempted to try the DX11 or DX12 add-on and see what happens. I am lucky to get 144FPS in the Open World. Have to do low Shadows. High population event's really hurt performance even with detail/amount of people on low. Anything under 60 frames is extremely noticeable to me. 140 is my sweet spot.
  8. Learn from the numerous (unreasonable) mistakes form Skyscale.
  9. Thank you Tarlonniel. I love the Jump flap the Scaled Dragon Wings give me to much to change it. :-) Really appreciate it. Consider this thread closed.
  10. Thank you for the quick reply. That doesn't help me. The Wiki/Dulfy doesn't mention the Scaled Dragon Wings flapping while you jump. So I figured all the wings do. I bought gold ones because I expected them to flap to, but was disappointing. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scaled_Dragon_Wings_Backpack
  11. Trying to decide if I should buy it. I love the Scaled Dragon Wings because of the jump animation and don't want any wings without a jump animation.
  12. I think I figured out why the Skyscale mount sums up what's wrong with the games current direction. As a new player, I was convinced this is a CO-OP/help each other MMO. It was designed to be that way. As an example, mining nodes are shared with everyone. Instead of getting frustrated when you see someone hitting a node, you get excited because you can get it too. Same goes for group events. I was told this game was designed to be fun and not super grindy. Que the Skyscale Mount. This is a casual item behind unnecessary collections/grinding/time gating. The clearest example of what's wrong with the game is the saddle. As a new player I only have one 80 that I really enjoy playing. Let's say you have only one level 80 the grind for the mats and you are a new player. To get 250 of each zone will take a long time. It will take you way longer than the hardcore players with 8, 80s. That brings me to the biggest problem I have with this mount. The newer content (specifically this mount) shifted the fun shared nature of this game into a selfish mentality. You now have people running in front of you to kill things, clean things, squish things. Even mobs die to fast for you to tag them. If someone squishes say a rat right in front of you, then it's gone and you have to search for another.... "Frustrating". The latest collections have turned the feeling of the game from the help each other MMO I was enjoying to the selfish steel kills/objective mentality I wanted to avoid. On top of that, nobody else in the guild would want to do it a second time.... That says something. Now that they are done, they want to forget it. Last you have the silly time gating that impacts some players an extreme amount more than others. There is no reason why a player with one 80 should be at an extreme disadvantage with something like the heart collection. All this mount did was fail to slow down the hardcore players, while adding an unnecessary long time-gate to the new players. This has caused me, my friend who joined with me, and my fiance to be frustrated with the game. All new players, all have the same outcome. If you want to make it slower for everyone, make it slow for everyone. Make it so you can only get a certain amount of items per account per day. Also make it so you can only start gathering the item when the thing is released. I hope this is not a sign of where the game is going.
  13. I am a few months in. I was really enjoying the progression. I enjoyed the leveling experience. I am now getting super irritated with the unnecessarily irritating collections. Griffon was harder for us then old players. We got it done. Skyscale we are so behind it's not funny.... We joined the game for horizontal progression. This was touted as the "casual friendly" mmo. The Skyscale mount is making me bitter. Once it's done it's done, but it's not worth helping anyone else do it. Which goes to my next point. The newer content makes Guild Wars 2 players appear selfish. It's selfish in design. We went form a coop and helpful to selfish kill heart objectives as quick as possible right in front of other players because my mount is more important then theirs mentality. We went from shared resources/helpful community to a selfish kill it first game. Things die to fast to tag while everyone is completing hearts. Did I mention it is not fun being forced to repeat this over and over again. The latest collections have turned the feeling of the game to a selfish in it for yourself steal kills/objective mentality. It's not the cooperative help others I enjoyed while leveling. It's weird to explain, but things are looking bad for the future of this game if this is the direction we are going. It won't keep new players end game.
  14. Here is my list of what I would like1.) Skyscale Gem Package - To give new players a way to catch up for the mount. (Old Currency, food, etc)2.) POF Meta Portal: Have it for Tyria/HOT (Note I see a lot of other people are requesting this)3.) Master Portal Tome - In it you can place the POF Meta Portal, Home Portal, Hot Portal, World Boss Portal, Living Seasons Tomes, Permanent Passes.4.) Skycale Logging Tool Note: Even after I complete my Skyscale, I think the alternative is needed.
  15. I would easily spend $40 to bypass this and enjoy the "fun" aspect to the game.
  16. Even the supporters (that already have the mount) are summing up what is wrong with this collection. Slow Clap
  17. I imagine it caps at T6, so orichalcum and ancient nodes are completely unaffected. Best use I can think of is on copper nodes. You always need more Iron ore. Can you imagine farming Iron and getting mithral. :-(
  18. This is the problem. People who work (the big spenders like me) do not have 2-3 hours a day to complete the mount. I am lucky to have 30 minutes to play during the week. On a side note: If you want people to repeat content, make it engaging.
  19. This might be a missed opportunity. The casuals and new players don't have the mount yet.
  20. Thank you for posting this! I want to know the same thing. What kind of mats can I get from an Orichalcum node for an example.
  21. First off: veteran players had an easier time because the content saw a lot more play. They did not get magical guides and had to go in blind, unlike newer players. The only argument you are making is FOR requiring people to play older content. Yes, I realize all you actually care about is the mount and not actually any of the content in Season 4 episodes 1-5, which have allowed a lot of less veteran players to catch up on achievements, story, and map completion due to the increased play currently. That still does not make your argument valid. Abandoned content is harder on players to complete achievements, requiring players to visit older maps for currency is a temporary band-aid fix to reinvigorate older content. The mount is currently similarly hard for everyone. Everyone had to at some point gather the resources. Your argument is based on your reasoning that getting the mount as fast as possible is easier for veteran players who had the currency. While that is true, it is not true that they had an easier time to acquire the currency. They had a longer time, and given the lack of the Dragonfall 5 resource per day option and insanely rewarding meta, not an easier. Those two are not the same. News Flash: You will NEVER catch up to a veteran player of 7 years. There are achievements which you will never be able to complete. You are behind 5 years on daily achievement points. Veteran players have accumulated so much wealth over the last 7 years (I myself have over 30 full ascended sets, 4 full legendary armors, multiple legendary weapons, multiple legendary trinkets, thousands of skins, etc.). If catching up was your only goal for you, might as well stop right now. If on the other hand, you enjoy GW2 and its content, enjoy playing the game, enjoy the community and have found friends, then you might enjoy the game for what it is. TL;DR:Your arguments are flawed and revolve solely around you wanting the mount asap. Not about content being harder or easier for any player. It's obvious you want this game to die. You do not want to grow the player base, and only want to pander to the veterans that will decline over time. I'm going to leave on this. I am a new player that hasn't completed a lot of content. Yet...I out dps and outlive veteran geared up players for the harder content (like fractals [had to get more ascended for T4]).... Think about that. Now these mounts (Griffon being another) are harder and add additional disadvantages to new players... These are just poorly designed and destructive to this games longevity.
  22. As a new player the requirements are outrageous. We just finished POT, we are working our way through Living Story 4. Now time for this.... This wasn't easy for veteran players that had warning allowing them to prep in advanced. New players and casuals are at an extreme disadvantage. Now this puts us even further behind. It makes it even rougher for us to get the mount. By the time we get caught up, less people will be doing it...making it harder. Everyone I talk to agrees the Griffon is much harder to acquire now then it was to acquire during release....think about it, Veteran players hand an easier time. The same players that want it to be harder...look at the other forms. New/casual players that want things easier, get the harder version....Why repeat that mistake? If Anet wants to increase the player base. This needs changed. Mounts are a casual item... I am fine with them making skins a hardcore items; however any mount with different abilities should remain a casual item.
  23. No one knows the numbers. Just ArenaNet. I just notice that hardcore content (raids, pvp) may be created for smaller audience. But it don't matter because it brings big audience (by streams, videos, artices on games sites etc, etc) .And that's fact. If it is indeed a fact, then please provide the supporting factual evidence to support your claim. Please show us the detailed, relevant statistics from Anet and the gaming business community. I can't, because there's no hardcore content in GW2. So we just can't tell how big audience it may make. But we can check it in other games. As I know esport tournaments are fine. And popular as hell. Also WoW for example. They had ALOT viewers when method (top1 raiding guild) were progressing new raid. But it require alot of work. Its not enough to make 1 raid wing per year and expect that it will suddenly work. Nope. it wont. It requires regularity. While GW2 already has been labeled by gaming community as game without raids and pvp. And untrusted company. So it don't help also. You brought up WOW to support your claim, but WOW went on a downward sub/income slope ever since they made the content harder. They lost casuals for good and never rebound.... They did this twice..both times had the same outcome. The second time was less cataclysmic than the first time. pun intended
