  1. Perhaps the icebrood/destroyers need ice/fire magic to maintain themselves. Not only did Zhaitan and Mordremoth release huge amounts of death and plant magic into the system, other dragons (based on new abilities and the facets within Kralkatorrik) took their places in the All. If we go back to everyone's favourite magic is like light theory, the death of Jormag/Primordus released pure ley into the environment. And as far we know no one has replaced them.
  2. There is also the Pale Tree. Who was basically fine, not counted their injuries from being attacked. Caithe's flower did fall off when Aurene died, so there is some precedent. But Caithe wasn't horribly disfigured or instantly killed. Idk. It seems like the aftermath to minions is much worse this time around.
  3. After talking with Gorrik and Taimi in EotN it seems like many icebrood and destroyers are suddenly dying following the deaths of Jormag/Primordus. How did this not happen to all of the risen of Siren's Landing? I don't recall anything happening to the champions like what happened to Bangar/Braham/Ryland. Is this some sort of opposites cancel out situation where Jormag/Primordus killing each other neutralized their domains but Zhaitain was absorbed by another dragon, so the minions were sustained? Or did I miss something and the Risen/Mordrem were actually decimated by their master's deaths.
  4. I mean you still run condi chrono for alacrity+quickness on largos. And power quickness chrono will still be used instead of heal firebrands in several raids. It is also a meta support in WvW. No comment on pvp/fractals though. But again we are better served by them fixing the support on our support spec than creating a healer.
  5. Then they should fix the wells, although maybe not AWTEW on the first tick since you want to be healed as well when you double them with CS. We don't need to devote an entire spec to healing when we already have a support spec. And it is a support. Alacrity./stm/cs/shield/grav exist. It just isn't the best in slot as a healer. edit: also scepter is basically a support weapon because illusionary inspiration and seize the moment exist.
  6. Really? I feel the opposite. Chronomancer is our support spec at this point. I want an espec that's can actually burst.
  7. Alacrity is not quickness. And even with quickness there is still significant ramp up. By the time we have 3 clones up other classes have done like a full rotation. Its not fractal material.
  8. Paragons are an Elonan profession. Ritualists come from Cantha and merged with monks/paragons to become guardians.
  9. No, all classes should not have some alacrity. There is no way to balance it for professions that have minimal resource mechanics and a huge number of skills. Chronomancer's alacrity is gated by illusions, or standing still for several seconds. Mirage's/Revenant's is tied to endurance/energy. So either the enemy can stop you from benefiting or you run out of resources faster. In contrast, Engineers/Scrappers/Elementalists have no resource mechanics. And while Holosmith has heat, there is no way to stop someone from gaining heat. Elementalists/Engineers also have double the number of skills (even more if you count out of combat build/equipment swapping) as Revenants/Mesmers. And alacrity reduces the trade-offs of their elite specializations. Just no. If it is going to be given to a third spec it should be thief. They have the lowest number of skills. And while alacrity can boost their initiative generation somewhat, there is a much harder limit on how many skills they can use.
  10. In what way would it be thematic? Also giving engineers alacrity is a crazy idea. That's how you get all of their kits nerfed.
  11. What elite specializations in End of Dragons/Cantha do you want to see from a lore perspective? I personally want to see Guardians embrace their ritualist roots.
  12. Revenant is all about pulling from the mists. The substance that "binds the universe together, past, present, and future." It's what fractals are made out of, and explains their time loop properties. I'm not against it being added to another profession. But you don't need to destroy the temporal theme to do it. Just do something vaguely reality bending themed. edit: Also not everything is pve. Certain classes (Ele, and Engie looking at you) should never be able to gain perma alacrity on their own. They have way too many skills with cooldowns for that to ever be balanced without severely nerfing their core abilities. It should go to a class like thief or necro that benefits from alacrity but also has a resource system like initiative/life force stopping it from getting too crazy.
  13. What? It had the highest healing per second, especially when traited. And was widely used in WvW. I cannot remember the last time I, or any mesmer I know, have used ether feast. But then again I dont play core builds.
  14. It already falls off in non-raid content. At this point we need a split in pve for raid/fractals/open world.
  15. The new build is just boon thief by another name.
  16. Deadeye does more damage than Elementalist through a much simpler "rotation". I don't think Mesmer should be held to a piano standard that others are not. What matters is having similar benchmarks. We've moved past the quadruple kit era of more complex professions being better..
  17. You probably enjoy the thief/revenant playstyle more than I do. I enjoy mirage in pvp but the PvE versions that double up on weapons (axe/p+ axe/t, staff/staff) and run signets have so few active skills to be enjoyable for me. That being said this is the perfect build for open world PvE since you dont have to pay attention at all.
  18. I mean that's fair. Its just not particularly flavourful. But PvE is sort of a race so w/e. It gets the job done.
  19. Because it's more than a bit brainless. It's the thief/revenant playstyle without the benefit of initiative/energy
  20. shout skills with no rune support
  21. we'll we complained about renegade being able to give perma alacrity to 10 with one button. And they listened. Sort of
  22. I think you are the only one in this entire thread who cares about the fidelity of the wiki. For all intents and purposes. It has a 40 second cooldown.
  23. I'm in game right now. Using both charges takes 20s for one charge to come back, and another 20 seconds for the second charge to come back. 1 charge is worse than mirror even below 50% health. 2 charges are worse than an ether feast with no clones.
  24. spent ammo recharges one at a time. The numbers on MoR are even worse if you are comparing1 charge to our other 20ish second heal.
