  1. Instead of only being rated by win or lose, what if you were also rated and rewarded by your individual participation? Make the end of game percentage stats actually mean something. Winning and losing should still move you up and down in rank, I just think participation and contribution should be the primary source of pips and personal score. Perhaps by tracking the individual statistics of each account a more evolved match maker can be born? Population is an obvious issue but perhaps the population would grow if the game mode was overhauled to become genuinely competitive? This rework theoretically fixes the fairness and competitive issues we currently have with the all too common: rage quit, afk, dc, 3 or 4 v 5 starts, etc. What are your thoughts?
  2. I disagree with your assertion of difficulty entirely.
  3. To simplify: make first person perspective available without the obstruction of anything, while mounted.
  4. I love the immersion that has been bolstered by the new dynamic HUD options. Before they came to be I would manually turn off the entire display in order to see only the environment. I think they need to make an option to turn off party/squad members names too, the immersion is entirely broken as soon as you enter a party or squad, kind of silly really. First person perspective from mounts would be absolutely incredible as well. Both are very easy to implement and hopefully will be soon.
  5. A large, open and explorable map(vistas, POI, mounts and all). I picture a variety of geological features, like mountains, rolling hills, dense forests, lakes, rivers, alpine meadows, and canyons. At the very centre is a HUGE tower. This tower could represent the Heart of the Mists on the physical plane of existence. Given what the tower represents, have the map itself entirely open to pvp(no party larger than 10). It would blend PVE/PVP/WVW together, so it would be one of a kind, explore a type of gameplay not yet in effect, and give a wild, unpredictable and fun way to pvp casually with no afk/DC issues. It also opens up an entirely new line of thought around what future GW2 pve/pvp/wvw could look like. The potential is so vast due to class variations and combat mechanics, but is royally stifled by circle quest pvp and unbalanced (massive/empty or massive/unaccessible wvw servers/maps). This map could also feature a smaller arena for "instanced" combat. It would essentially be a customizable arena. Example) Choose to fight 5 Veteran Fire Hydras and a Choya or 2 Ettins, etc, etc, whatever combination/ level of creatures you want. You could even make the map a gem store only item to go along with the gnarly heavy capitalization of build templates. Now it's business and not just pleasure. I think shifting away from old ways of thinking/doing and looking at new opportunities will give this game another 10 years. The potential is there but currently it is growing very stale with the stagnant progression.
  6. The stat reset items used for mist and bloodstone accessories resets items in the equipment storage. Kinda lame.
  7. Thank you for taking the time to respond to us. This is likely a tough situation for you all on that side of the fence, but I do not doubt you will make the right decisions moving forward. Just know, despite being frustrated with this situation, I am still a huge believer in the game and greatly appreciate your work.

  9. Just scrap the current system entirely. It is no real PVP anyway, just node bunkering and back dooring with random PUGs who have more impact on your rating and rewards than you do. Many of these balance talks for PVP are because of the game mode itself. Recently, Scourge wouldn't have been killed off if node bunkering wasn't the only important objective. How many other builds have been nerfed to obsolescence for the same reason? I play mobile builds to cap/decap in the hopes of a win while others too often are fighting off point, zerg, afk, or whatever else they do. The game structure itself is my issue, way more so than any OP class or spec. In the meantime I'll keep trying to get better at my gameplay, work on my 3rd set of pvp legendary gear, and keep dreaming... Today I qualified Trip Gold then won a match and went Plat, just for one game though cause I lost the next match due to off node fighting en masse. The next match was a loss due to an AFK. This happens every season. Doesn't even matter what level my badge says, I always feel like it's an unranked free for all. Above all else, rate us for individual effort/statistical contribution instead of as a group. At the very most, give us an LFG style PVP system 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 etc PVP should be for combat, not node captures. King of the hill should be an appetizer, not the main course.
  10. If mirage cloak gets voted out of PVP(I sure hope not), PLEASE please please just make it for PVP solely. Mirage cloak as an active dodge in PVE is the backbone of its class mechanic, mobility and weapon interactions. I entirely understand the frustration of fighting mesmers in general, especially a mirage, but that is why I play one lol I wanted to learn how to kill them so I played the class thoroughly. I do not struggle fighting them now because I know how they function. Some of the frustration that some people feel is simply not knowing game mechanics and timing strategies. Clones definitely need to be toned down though.
  11. PS Food: Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew (100% endurance gain on dodge)Utility: Toxic Focusing Crystal (condi dps) Have fun and let me know what you think
  12. Mesmer- My build for WVW duels/roaming/camps/and PVP(gold usually/plat periodically) Illusions- bottom bottom bottomDueling- bottom bottom bottomMirage- mid mid topFalse Oasis/Blink/Signet of Midnight/Mass invisibility(or Jaunt)Sword/Torch Scepter/PistolVipers gear/Tempest runes/Malice and Energy sigils This build is great for condi DPS, 1 v 1 duels, roaming, camp captures, stealth, and in combat mobility. It is definitely not for everyone but I have found immense success with it. I swap gear type and runes lots for experimenting and it is flexible. Undead Runes and Trailblazer(Wanderer for PVP) stats are super tanky and survivable at the cost of dps.
  13. An Afterthought: Perhaps the game content developers are not the ones who get to choose the pricing of their own content? If I am not mistaken they are a subsidiary of NCSoft, a publicly traded South Korean gaming company. Public companies are notorious for PREDATORY practices for profit. Need I say more? I like to think the developers are fans and players of the game too who are even more pissed off than the community is about the price of their own content. GW2 is easily one of the greatest games I have ever played thanks to the living art that it is. The people(past/present) who have played a role in game development, with certainty have poured themselves into their work, in my opinion. Just roam any map on an HD monitor with your HUD turned off and you can see for yourself. Super engaging and shifting/evolving combat systems, cooperative, casual, no gear grind, mounts, (even the broken ass pvp system is an acquired taste haha), etc, I could go on for awhile. I am a fan. All that stuff I like came from the content creators and for that I thank you. Despite any issues(including the current one) or problems or setbacks or delays, thank you for this awesome game.
  14. Ya it's crazy that a simple build template program and all the slots for 9 characters FAR exceeds the cost of both expansions and every dollar I have ever spent on gems(which is a lot). I am quite shocked actually. I don't even know if it is the Devs who set the prices(doubt it) but surely someone had to have said, "uh hey guys, there is going to be a sh*t storm over these prices". Seriously? I'm not giving up on the game by any means, but I am sure done buying anything with real money until you stop preying on your fan base. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Please fix this ANET.
  15. I am a huge fan of the game and bought all the equipment and build slots(just for my Mesmer) to be supportive of the dev team. Definitely happy with some aspects of the feature but the price is PREDATORY and I will not buy anymore by any means. I miss ARC templates.
  16. I should have also said that when /sleep is used your actual character is left behind, so you are not able to use this feature for actual travel convenience, mostly just to explore unhindered. When you exit the mode you return to your original location(which could be limited to safe zones like cities or something). Just spit balling ideas cause that is what I like to do.
  17. For the record, I am plenty happy with the mounts we have now and think more would be too much. Also, a full flying mount is not something I personally want. That is why I suggested a "spectator mode" essentially. This would potentially allow people to free roam and free fly all they want without voiding mounts, game mechanics, etc. It was just an idea to try and solve the topic of having the ability to free fly/explore that pops up often.
  18. What if, to solve the issue of exploring the map "free camera" style, our characters could /sleep and then start "sleepwalking"? You and your mounts could then freely roam the map with no gravity, great speed(You could raptor jump a map lol), invulnerability and invisible to everything. This design would completely solve the mount obsolescence issue and the "missing out on/skipping gameplay" because of a full flying mount. Invisible walls, map height restrictions, etc is likely where it gets trickier. This solution solves some problems from a design perspective and gives explorers and art seekers full freedom.

  20. Tested again: Still same issues I should say that I am testing 2 legendary runes and 1 legendary sigil on legendary weapons and armour
  21. I just like imaging my Mesmer being trailed by a Veteran Sulfuric Hydra lol pretty sweet concept
  22. Using some new form of novelty item to be able to equip life size wildlife creatures that are NON combative just like current minis. This could co-exist with the current systems seamlessly. Obviously they would have to remain out of any competitive environments to reduce and maintain minimal visual clutter.
  23. @Mushuchalaka.9437 said: I miss this "Imagine having swarms of unlimited undead to fight through", from one of the first text based games I played.Basically it was non stop invasion and plenty of wipes and bodies. There would be so many mobs in one area, risky to go there. Basically an Invasion where we can actually not win. We don't always have to win Anet. The bad guys winning once in a while keeps things interesting :). This kind of custom encounter is exactly what I am talking about. Simply have a menu from which you select what enemies you want, a slider for how many enemies you want, a few options for numbers, waves, groups, timers, etc. I think it would be quite easy to build. Even if it wasn't, this kind of idea has, to my knowledge, never been done outside of imagination based games like D and D. If ArenaNet were to pull something like that off with GW2(likely the most artistically astounding game I have ever played, with massive potential still) they would be grabbing a piece of the gaming market that just isn't there yet. To be frank, the idea I am suggesting could easily be its own standalone game/platform. So, if an already existing game, especially an MMO, does something this revolutionary within game, they would attract many millions of people who would want to participate in legit gladiator style games(and way more), with their hand crafted characters. The fact that it would be PVP and PVE implies you could literally build your own encounters in a private instance(Basically, the same idea as the Golem in the Lion's Arch Aerodrome(Raid lobby), but built upon, immensely). Or you could participate in open to the public PVP, both drop-in style unranked and competitive ranked. Between these instances is the open world, at the arena, where people come to buy and sell their wear's, show off their attire, compete in friendly competitions..... @NYG.2568 said: If it's the slightest bit challenging or not a huge fireworks display, that they can make profit on. It will NOT be implemented in the game! I hope that is not the case because this idea sells itself. Especially for a game that already has such a deep backstory and at times mystifyingly beautiful art. Even if they built it as a separate expansion and sold it for $100 people would buy it and feel it was worth it, but only if it were designed/built with "pure customization of combat" in mind; well, I know I would.
