  1. Hey there! First of all, welcome back! I can absolutely understand that the end game content a while ago was a bit lacking. Dungeons weren't really enough to keep a lot of the player base satisfied but there has been so much added since! Fractals now go up to level 100 and doing the higher tier ones every day is extremely lucrative. Raids are added to the game now and they're very fun especially if you run with regular or static groups that are friendly, willing to train and just have fun along with getting the weekly kills. There has been a ton of story and achievements added to the game as well. Some of them are available for free right now as Anet prepares to release the final episode of this living world season. I think you'll find there has been a lot of quality of end-game life updates added since you left and hopefully you'll really enjoy the game as it is today. We're looking at another raid being added soon, new fractals are being regularly dropped in and the story is still being pushed out with Season 5 set to follow some time after this final episode release. The Arctic [Arc] is an EU based guild that is primarily on Gandara server for WvW but most of our players focus on PvE content. We do have a great WvW commander in our guild, though, and some folks who enjoy playing PvP as well. If you're curious about some details, you can check out my previous post on the forums that lists some of the activities and the only 2 small rules that we have for the guild. In general, though, we're pretty casual and willing to help out if you need some advice or assistance to get back into the game either with builds, stories, training, anything. We don't have a requirement for you to represent the guild so if you want to join to just give it a shot or think you'll be happier hopping between other guilds as well, that's perfectly fine. We just want our members to have a good time and not feel pressured. If you are interested or you have any more questions, you can reply here or send me a message either on the forums or in game to OpLickem.8250. If not, I still hope that you and your friend have a great time back in GW2! Cheers!
  2. That's so great! Thanks for writing back. I'll be on more this evening, if that's alright for you. We're running guild missions at about 8pm GMT and I'll be online around then. Otherwise, I'll be around during the weekend as well. If you catch me online, don't be afraid to spam me hahaha. I look forward to chatting with you :D
  3. Heya! The Arctic is recruiting EU players right now for some organized content like raids and missions as well as just casual play. We're a pretty chill group of folks and don't have a lot of rules other than that people be respectful of one another and be 18+. Given that, you're more than welcome to fire me off a message either on the forums or in game (OpLickem.8250) if you'd like to give [Arc] a shot or have any more questions. I've got a post here on the forums if you want a few more details, as well. Cheers!
  4. I think it helps to establish what the goals for your guild are. What type of content you're wanting to focus on and such like that. Of course, as a new guild, you'll probably be wanting to build up your guild hall as well which means running PvE events to get materials as well as missions for favour to spend on the hall. Hosting (commanding) groups for various content around the game is a good place to start and recruiting from the folks that join you can be good. My guild has never had a representation requirement which makes it friendly for people who even already have a main guild and just join for particular events like raiding or factals. I've found that you'll get more people to help join or organize specific content types by recruiting in them. The forums and beginner areas of the game are a great place to find new players although quite a few veterans are also just looking for new homes on the forums as well. Don't forget to mention your region and a general guild philosophy in the message (even if it's just casual PvX, meaning just about anything goes). If you're looking for raiders, the aerodrome and commanding raids is a great place to recruit. For fractals, you can try after running groups. Command a meta event or some bounties in open world and you'll probably find people looking for PvE. I've found some friends through duo queue in PvP as well although that has been slower. I've also found that keeping additional apps simple can help a lot unless you've got a very large, very dedicated member base. Things like websites, facebook pages, twitter profiles and such are cute but a lot of people find them to be a pain to keep up with or even remember to visit regularly. Because voice communication is so vital to a lot of content in the game, I'd recommend starting off with just having an app for that. My guild uses Discord because we like also being able to keep in touch and announce weekly, monthly or the odd event on there but anything works at least for comms. WvW servers often use TS, for example. In the end, it depends on what you're looking for in a guild as well. If you simply want numbers, actively recruit everywhere. Advertise on the forums regularly, recruit in-game, make a bio on Guildex, post on r/guildrecruitment, etc. If you're looking for more "quality" in the players in terms of creating a smaller but close-knit group of guild members, it's much slower but I think it can be worth it. Find those folks you end up having great conversations with, are really helpful, friendly, and the like. Usually people who you end up grouping up with to do in-game content. Those kinds of friendships I've made from having smaller guilds in the past are the ones that tend to last for a very long time and even end up extending out to other games. I hope that helps a bit! Good luck with your new guild!
  5. Cool! I look forward to talking with you. I'll be off and on throughout the day doing dailies, and we're running guild missions this evening around 8pm GMT so you'll probably catch me online around then. If I do miss you, you can always fire me off an mail in-game as well ^^ Edit: I should also mention, just in case I should fall off the face of the earth for some reason (haha), that the original post I have for recruiting for my guild includes a Discord invite link. There, you can write a message or just ask for an invite with your account name in the #recruitment text channel under Guild Stuff.
  6. Heya! My guild offers weekly raid training which a few of the leaders and myself host. We only require that you have a lvl 80 char with HoT masteries (gliding, mushrooms, etc.) and be familliar with your class (CC abilities, how to do dmg, utilities, etc.). We explain everything else. We have a lot of experienced raiders that can help set you up and point you in the right direction for learning. We don't train Fractals atm, but we do have quite a few folks that play them. We usually ask for groups and announce events on our Discord. The Arctic is pretty chill. We don't require you to rep. We do kick after 2 months of inactivity without being told that you're taking a break but otherwise, our only real formal rules are that folks be respectful of one another and be 18+. If you are interested or want to ask about anything, you can respond here or send me a DM on the forums or in-game (OpLickem.8250). Thanks and have a good evening!
  7. Hey there! I'm recruiting for my guild, The Arctic. We're a fairly big guild of 180+ folks that play all sorts of content. We run weekly training raids as well as full clears and have a lot of people that enjoy Fractals on a regular basis. New players are definitely welcome and if you need any help, we have an active Discord where that we use to keep in touch and announce events. We're pretty chill, not requiring representation if you don't want but we just have 2 rules: that our members be respectful and 18+. Otherwise, anything goes! Haha. Let me know on here or in game (OpLickem.8250) if you might be interested or if you have any questions! :) Cheers!
  8. We've had such a great response to this post so far. Thank you guys so much and it's been so great to find new members to play with us! We have a new role system on our Discord now so that it's easier for members to keep up with events in and out of game. Whether it's hanging out for a night of laughs while playing Jackbox, hosting quiz nights in Divinity's Reach or running group content like Fractals, Raids or Missions, we have roles for them all now so our members can be notified for what they are interested in! Our next quiz will be this weekend, Saturday, April 20th! Anyone is certainly welcome to join and officers will be present for recruiting as well. I'm not sure what the prizes will be yet but they're usually very nice! We'll be setting up shop in Divinity's Reach at about 7pm GMT. Topics are mostly about GuildWars lore but also RL events and this one will be themed around Easter! Again, feel free to send me a message if you're interested in joining The Arctic. Cheers!
  9. Hello! Are you on EU servers? If so, you'd be more than welcome to join our weekly raid training (Sundays). We also do weekly clears that we welcome people to join once they are experienced, but also do a lot of other content. Primarily PvE but some players enjoy PvP and WvW as well. We only ask that our members are respectful of one another and are 18+. Otherwise, we're pretty casual. If you're interested you can let me know here or send a mail to OpLickem.8250 in game :)
  10. My guild welcomes new and veteran players alike! We're a PvX guild although most of the members do play PvE. We have weekly and monthly events that are meant for everyone, about 180 members, a Discord server (required for raiding but otherwise just good for getting notified about events or asking for help), and only a couple of rules. We ask that our members be respectful and kind to one another and that they are 18+. Otherwise, we're pretty relaxed! If you're interested, let me know here or you can send a message to OpLickem.8250 in game. ^^
  11. Hey there! The Arctic [Arc] is looking for more members. We currently have about 180 that play across all areas of the game but mostly in PvE. We're a pretty casual guild that just like to have fun but we also have weekly missions, raid training (Sundays) and wing 1-4 clears (Tuesdays). Using our Discord is required for the raids but otherwise optional although we have a lot of members on there. Our only rules are that people be respectful of one another and our members be 18+. Otherwise, we do not require repping so if you would like to give us a try, you can send me a message here on the forums or to OpLickem.8250 in game. Cheers!
  12. Hello! The Arctic [Arc] is currently looking for more members. We are on EU servers if you are there. Our Discord is quite active but we only require it for raiding. The guild has 180 members right now that are active and we run weekly missions, raid training and raid clears. We also host monthly quizzes and puzzles with prizes. Our only requirement is that everyone be respectful of each other and be 18+. If you're interested, you can fire me a message here on the forums or to OpLickem.8250 in game. :)
  13. Hey there :) I am currently recruiting for my guild, The Arctic [Arc]. We are a kind of mix-mash of everything but primarily PvE content. Our only requirements are that our members are respectful of one another and 18+. We run weekly missions and raids (including training for brand new raiders), have monthly events such as quizzes and puzzles with prizes, but otherwise just enjoy hanging out and helping each other with whatever comes up. We have a Discord that is only required for raiding but it's where we announce events and hang out while playing. Most of our WvW players are on Gandara but it's not required to be there. Repping is also not mandatory. If you're interested, you can send me a message on the forums or in game to OpLickem.8250!
