Warrior Needs More Ranged Weapon Options
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Swagger.1459's topic in Warrior
While I agree that warrior ranged options need some attention, I don't think changing hammer is the way to go. If more elite specs are added, I'd like to see a main-hand ranged option such as pistol. I say that because I'd like to utilize the trait Dual Wielding while ranged. If more elite specs are not added, then my vote would be to revamp warrior rifle. There have been many threads specific to suggestions for rifle revamp, many with good ideas presented. -
Trading Post Suggestions
Orion Templar.4589 replied to BBF geNko.3097's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
They need to keep the listing fee, even if you sell to a buy order. I see what you're saying about the seller needing to have the liquid gold up front though which may be a problem when wanting to sell an expensive item. One thing the developers might consider is the option when selling to a buy order, to have the listing fee come out of your revenue from the sale rather than from your wallet when making the sale. Either way it's the same profit and tax for you, just different the order it is applied in. -
Queues for full PvE Maps instead of "Join in "
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Chelu.2095's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I'm also in favor of some kind of queue, or simpler way to manage/view/join instances. The constant "right-click join, map is full, click ok, try again" cycle definitely gets tiring. And on the flip side, when you're doing an event and you lose connection, I'd like to have a few minutes of grace period where your "spot is saved" and you can get back into that map instance after you regain connection (whether you're part of a group or not). It's been awhile since that problem happened to me, but in the past it was especially frustrating in Dragon's Stand to make it nearly to the end, disconnect, then be unable to get back into my map instance because someone else took my spot and the map was full. -
Pet does not spawn on Ranger Dismount

Just adding that I've also seen this issue and would love to see it get fixed. -
What new stat sets do you want to see?
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Stand The Wall.6987's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
A couple sets I'd like to see are similar to Marauder's and Diviner's, just with the majors/minors switched around a bit:+Power +Ferocity / -Precision -Vitality+Power +Ferocity / -Precision -Concentration -
Kudos to the dev team for an excellent release. I and my guild mates will be having many hours of fun with this episode and map. Liked: Thunderhead Peaks map is beautiful - the visuals, music, and atmospherics makes me just pause and look around frequentlyI like the two meta events - they are engaging and about the right amount of difficultyStory was fun to go through and the ending was quite somethingDisliked: Light of Deldrimor shouldn't be so short-lived and tied to the plates we get from the metaInvisible walls around some of the cliffs in the middle of the map - I'd like to climb thoseLack of a griffon adventure - this map would be ideal for a griffon adventure

I'm curious from a technical perspective how can a VPN improve latency? When I think of a VPN, I think of my endpoint device and the VPN server setting up an encrypted connection, and all packets get encrypted/decrypted on both ends of that tunnel. Then the traffic goes from the VPN server to the final destination, which in this case is the GW2 server. Even if the network path was about the same, that added encrypt/decrypt has got to be adding some overhead, and your physical connection out of your house is still being used and leveraging a VPN doesn't help with that unless your ISP is willing to apply some kind of quality of service prioritization to those packets.

It took me multiple tries on each map to get gold. I see a lot of frustration with the Brisban Wildlands race, but interestingly that one didn't give me much trouble. The one that had me grinding my teeth was Snowden Drifts. I don't know how many times I'd get 32.xx or 33.xx seconds. So close! Once I finally got the gold it was a good feeling though.

What Staff Skin for Daredevil Are You Using?
Orion Templar.4589 replied to WJHB.8130's topic in Thief
I use the Bifrost. It's "magicky" and probably isn't what you're looking for, but I like it. -
My first run through it was on my Ranger. What I found worked was to locate what pillar or junk pile I was going to move to next, and then count the pulses of her target/malice on me. When it reached the 3rd or 4th pulse and I knew she was going to fire, I'd dodge then, evade the shot, and I'd make it behind the pillar. It was a rather fun and challenging encounter. (Teleports not required, although I can see where those would make it simpler.)

Please change "Playable area"
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Muusic.2967's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Agreed. Normally I really don't like invisible walls. But in this case they'd be a good thing. Instead of being kicked, just have an invisible wall around the instance area. If you bump up against the invisible wall, a message could appear such as "you've reached the boundary of the playable area". -

A couple times a dev had their tag on during the Domain of Kourna meta event. The players were being cool and not pestering him/her with questions, and the chat was lighthearted. We did try to casually point out that the portal from the village to the meta had been broken since 7/24, hoping the dev would comment on that and say "we're working on it" or something like that, but they never commented on that topic. I've spotted Gaile in the Mistlock Sanctuary once or twice. I apologize I didn't say hello or anything, but even though I was silent it was nice to see a "familiar face" so to speak. -
BUG: Guardians and Renewed Justice
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Sicycle.2453's topic in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website
Anyone know if there's ever been an official response on this one? It's been an issue since release as far as I know. I'd love to know if it really is a "bug", or if it's "by design". If by design, would be curious to know why. It's especially frustrating in events where enemies spawn rapidly and are the kind that don't grant XP. Thus Renewed Justice never works. It really puts a damper on playstyle to have this trait not working in those situations. -
Agreed on the Warrior rifle. Thematically and for the builds I like to run with Warrior, the rifle would make the most sense for me, but it just feels so slow and weak. Even the recent updates weren't enough. My suggestions that I hope would help and yet not be too overpowered would be to have skill #1 generate at least double the adrenaline that it does now, and to reduce the cooldown on Volley to 5 seconds (untraited).

Option to remove the novelties skill thing :(
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Aeolus.3615's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Options are always a good thing. A check box to show it or hide it from the interface would be a great addition. -
Not a bad idea Rikimaru. Personally I don't think I'd use it, but I can see where others might. Personally I'd rather they create a lounge pass tome. If they did, I'd probably buy a few more passes I don't currently own just for the completionist in me. As things stand now though, I'll just keep using the Mistlock Sanctuary as I don't want to spare the inventory space for other passes.

Braziers of Koda STILL bugged!
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Ashantara.8731's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Hadn't realized they'd changed. Went to Bitterfrost Frontier to see what you were talking about. Agreed they don't look very good now. -
Your favorite PC voice actors!
Orion Templar.4589 replied to Alga.6498's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Agreed on your two points. The pronunciation that tweaks my ear each time I hear it is when Trahearn (or anyone else) says "Clawr Island". I keep thinking "There's no 'R' in claw..." And interestingly on point #2 is that I'm pretty sure Sun Warming didn't always sound that way. When Bitterfrost Frontier first came out her voice didn't sound as nasal. Then at some update the nasal sound suddenly become much more prominent. I recall people in map chat saying "Did this kodan just catch a cold?" My vote goes for the voice actor for male asura. He does such a good job of capturing how the PC would speak being from the "master race". -
I'd previously disabled the focus assist when playing a game option and although it did make the showing of the desktop quicker, it didn't fully resolve the issue. But now when I added that second piece of checking that box to disable full screen optimizations, it did indeed appear to resolve the issue. Now when changing maps it quickly flashes a black screen, but doesn't flash to the desktop any more. Thank you for passing along that tip!
