  1. It's common for only a few new weapon type skins to come out with the rerelease of these events. If you don't like them it's probably for the best, no need to make an appointment with a hand and wrist surgeon for the SAB RL pain levels and carpal tunnel syndrome! edit: Not being snarky I actually had to see a doctor after SAB and said never again lol
  2. Hi! Thanks for the roadmap for 2023 release, looking forward to seeing what you guys got planned! I just wanted to post this in case anyone else wanted to chime in. I really love the World Boss Rush event. It was one of the first events I participated in GW2, and when it ran subsequently, I found it a great opportunity to connect with other players - old players and new players alike. I met my first ever guildmates during the WB Rush Event, I have so many fond memories and it adds an extra fun reason to revisit some of the bosses that a lot of us don't do so frequently anymore. It's also friendly for Li players like me who cannot participate in SAB and JP-heavy festivals. So it was always my favorite, next to The Mad King's festival (no, I have never once completed the Clock Tower ahaha - my carpal tunnel says that is a big NOPE - but otherwise it's so awesome). Can we please bring this one back? I'm not sure when it last occurred, I know when I took a year break it happened and when I returned it seemed to have been cut from the Festival rotation. It's so much more fun than a gold sink festival or SAB, and accessible for players of all skills levels. It really brings connection within the community. The most well known Tyrian metas become such a lively and fun environment and there is something for everyone. If anyone else would like to see this Festival/Event return, please join me in this request! 😃
  3. Okay, so should Stage 4 kitten be a Skill too then? By your logic that would be just fine.
  4. You're going to tell me that putting the word 'Senile' in a Skill Name is not offensive to senior citizens, okay. We all know the meaning of the word Senile. Tell me why it belongs in the game, please?
  5. I was reading through the "interesting" patch notes today. While I was reading, confused and ready to give feedback, I was shocked and horrified to find this - it stopped me in my tracks: "Well of Recall: Renamed Well of Senility." Maybe I am naïve, but I wanted to think that Anet was a company with a moral compass and some values. A place that promoted equality and did not tolerate hate speech of any form. It's a company I have invested thousands of hours and thousands of dollars into. Guild Wars 2 is a game that is near and dear to my heart. Now they have coded hate speech into their game, and apparently for no reason at all. Why did you need to rename this skill in the first place, and furthermore - why did you go to such a degrading and insulting place with it? For those who do not know, ageism is a form of discrimination and hate towards senior citizens. Ageism refers to the stereotypes (how we think), prejudice (how we feel) and discrimination (how we act) towards others or oneself based on age. Anet needs to address this immediately and is now practicing Institutional Ageism. Institutional Ageism refers to when an institution or company perpetuates ageism through its actions and policies (like making fun and making light of senility and memory loss). I can tell you won't be playing your Chrono much less your game if this is okay with your devs. What's next? If your team is not aware, you have a very large age range of players. I WvW with an octogenarian. I met the most lovely woman nearing 90 years of age one day at the Octovine and we became friends, ironically - she played Chrono. This hits me on a personal level, though. I lost my father to dementia a year ago, and my stepmother to Alzheimer's, as well. Making light of "Senility" is no longer considered "COOL" or okay. It's flat out hate speech. It's degrading to your community, whom you are quite out of touch with. Remove this trash from your game.
  6. So now you guys are promoting Ageism in a community that is supposed to be a safe space without hate speech. Seriously, wtf Anet. This is beyond f'ed up. Why did you even need to change the name, much less to something that is so incredibly offensive? Do you realize the age range of your customer base? This is awful and needs to be brought to the community's awareness immediately, and addressed by Anet immediately.
  7. It's been sad to return to gw2 in the past few months and see the "Teleport cheat" happening left and right. Super fun when a thief ports all over your screen or into objects when they're in trouble - still almost dies - then uses Shadowstep for the 1st time in the fight to ensure their escape. SO FUN - THIEVES WERE ALREADY SO FUN! XD
  8. This is a really smart post. My boyfriend and I almost didn't choose to purchase and play Guild Wars 2 originally because when we tested it out f2p we were slower than a tortoise whilst all the other players were zooming past us. We had three friends we attempted to bring into the game who decided not to purchase it because they felt so slow when trying it out and felt the mounts were pay to win. Even if it can't make large jumps over gaps like a raptor or scale to heights like a springer, at least a basic horse with added movement speed so new players can actually get around would be a huge improvement.
  9. What an exciting day! The first of five gen3 variants has arrived! Can't wait to get started on my new skins! Now, to begin my shopping list. Oh wait, can someone help me with my math this can't be right... Research Note costs: 3,000 Research Notes to craft a single Aurene Legendary Weapon from scratch. 10,000 Research Notes per variant/skin per weapon type... so... 53,000 Research Notes for all variants of a single weapon type. 848,000 Research Notes to complete the collections in entirety. Someone call my old math teacher! Either I was as a bad a student as she said, or Anet is. Anyone able to check my work?
  10. I'm not saying people are conscientiously going to Cantha for Jade Batteries then rushing into older areas of Tyria. It's just something that is happening, a lot, and it's invalidating much of the (still quite popular) older content.
  11. I was really pleased to hear that our Jade Tech battery charges and buffs would persist as we swapped maps in EoD. What has me confused and concerned is that these powerful buffs made their way into every open world meta outside Cantha. I'm a big meta enjoyer, and these events are important for newer players learning how mechanics in Guild Wars 2 function. What I've seen since this change, is that unless a meta will *FAIL* if a certain phase is not properly tended to and executed; that the immense player power curve this is currently providing allows for the complete skipping of many mechanics. I've watched almost every Death Branded Shatterer die with 2-3 Riftstalkers up (pumping heals to the boss that are almost entirely negated by the massive power spike brought by Jade Offensive wearing players) in its final phase since this patch happened, for instance. I've been in discords during meta runs where everyone was stupefied as to what was going on. It's the Jade Battery buffs persistence into other older areas of the game. It's gamebreaking in certain situations at best, but at its worst, it's teaching players bad habits. We already have a playerbase that is constantly complaining that new and returning (and experienced players) don't know what they are doing. Now, the events that are the typical introduction to Guild Wars 2 have been so drastically power crept on with this issue that this problem will only worsen and worsen with time. When I comm an event and give the instructions to my group, why would anyone listen to me say "At this part we have do this" when.... well.... you can just smash through it all now and forget mechanics. In the long term this seems extremely unhealthy for the game and for the learning experiences that players are supposed to be getting along the way.
  12. In another thread, this is the most eloquent solution I've seen presented thus far. Sad we've gotten to this point. I'd rather see all those accounts banned but apparently we need to come to these forums with more ideas, because the bans just aren't happening. This is a good one. Thoughts?
  13. I recently returned to Gw2 after almost 2 years away. I couldn't believe how much I missed the game and was so happy to be back. I am a PvP/WvW main, and it didn't take long to see and find out the state of the game. While Win Trading had always been an issue that I had hoped Anet would work on - especially with the existence of Win Trading discords and content creators/streamers making the information so public about who is doing it - things have gotten so out of hand. The other day, I noticed someone in my guild botting 7 accounts in ranked PvP (yes, all accounts were booted from the guild on this discovery). Then I was told that this has become the "new normal" and I am just incredibly disappointed. These accounts are being reported but NO ACTION is being taken. I know of several bot accounts that have been reported by upwards of a dozen individuals - they are currently logged in and bottin' away in different PvP maps at this very moment as I post. Why do the reports go unanswered? Why are these accounts still active? Think about that - that just 1 botter can be in several different matches at the same time. Now add TONS of botters to that equation. You cannot tell me this is "okay". I know there have been recent actions at the top of the ladder, but the average player is not in Legend rank, has not earned Gizmos, etc. Right now your average player is bombarded by bots, even more than win traders (they are more active during ATs lately). People are doing "bot checks" at the start of a match to find out if they even have a human team or not - this has become extremely regular in all my ranked matches since returning. Show some respect to your players, your staff who work on PvP, and to your game itself and start banning these accounts. Trust me, if you were worried about losing out on money from banning them, you are not! They aren't spending money in the gemstore like your actual players are. I've seen too many beloved games fall and die due to this exact circumstance, botting, cheating, trading. I understand investigating win-trading and ATs can be slow, but the bots are so brazen it doesn't take a genius to find out that 6 people in 6 different PvP maps with 6 almost identical acct names that never dodge or cap a point need to be banned. So sick of watching my block list in hopes of a "safe time to queue". It's a really, really bad look and turning the game mode into a joke. Many players were already hesitant to join in PvP in the first place, what is the incentive if it's a total joke run by scripters?? There is no longer even pride in earning a high rank... MightyTeapot recently uploaded a video to Youtube about this horrible problem and the state of the game. He adds that he knows the company is busy with the expansion but quote, with this issue, "We are in the 11th hour" and "Anet needs to get a separate team on this NOW". We understand you are working hard on the expansion but this is so out of hand it's ludicrous. The botting is just insane. I remember when my bf and I started that it was extremely difficult to buy 2 copies of the game and play together - we had to go through support and an "investigation" just to play the game. Now we have guys running around with 12 accounts, scripting PvP. I thought it was bad enough seeing that ranger at the Pinata meta with 20 accts using AHK scripts (I reported him, too, back in the day - Anet response was basically "but he bought so many copies of PoF, though!" and they did nothing). But now it's ruining an entire game mode. I have lists of bots on my block list and wait to queue until they are in a game. Why should I have to wait 10 minutes or more to "safely" queue into a game mode? Why are the reports of bot accounts with nearly identical names botting in PvP going ingored? Can you PLEASE get someone, anyone, on this? Teapot is right, something must be done and NOW. I had high praise when you guys hired sPvP/WvW balance teams, but that's all pointless if nearly every match has a bot or wintader in it. Show some respect to your players/customers, your PvP team, and the game mode itself before it's too late.
  14. The current meta only allows certain traitlines for only a few classes to be relevant in ranked play. If you don't play a nearly impossible to kill tanky as heck class/traitline, you are probably not going to have a good time. Of course there have been and always will be meta and off meta classes, but in the current state of the meta all I play against are tanky guardians, warriors - oh so many warriors, cancer condi mesmer, unkillable eles and prot holos. If you aren't spec'd tank, you may as well not queue. Fights are long and boring and often end in stalemates. Want to play your favorite class but it was not listed above (or your spec wasn't)? That's too bad. The majority of people on my friends list who enjoy sPvP and were generally on the top 2 pages of my Friends/Guilds tab in the leaderboard have almost entirely chosen to sit this season out when I ask why they haven't been pvp'ing lately. So many people are sitting out, in fact, that silver players are being queue'd with the top 2 Legends duo queue'ing together. Gold 1's are fighting the top 10 people on the leaderboard consistently. This is ruining sPvP for everyone. New people get pubstomped and discover their class/spec is useless, and if they have the patience to keep playing are forced to make a new character. Veteran players in high plat and legend rank have few people to compete with and horrible games subsequently because of being paired with silver/gold players every single game. The unkillable spec meta is making the entire mode boring and stale, and many people who love pvp are opting out this season until they see changes.
