  1. And since when does one element of a certain map defines the whole MMO genre? Your definition of this game isn't even the point of this thread. It's not like GW2 never intended to experiment with horror elements since launch, back in Queensdale https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lady_in_White The classic experience of Orr exploration emphasize heavily upon survival instead of elimination, and visuals were far more zoomed-in with 1024x768 resolution back in 2012. It was very common to see players hesitant to explore these maps due to sheer pressure. If the risens were annoying, then so do the zombie in other survival games.
  2. https://www.esrb.org/ratings/32875/fatal-frame/ Horror game can be PG-12 Back to OP, There were horror element in Orr back before the mega server, they're simply nerfed over the years.
  3. Let's be realistic here. If you people haven't realized, right at this thread you're telling NC-Soft, one of the biggest mobile MMO developer on the planet, that porting its casual MMO onto mobile don't work. Feel free to browse its track record and sales number for the past few years.
  4. You realize that the vast majority of open map players have trouble even soloing an elite enemy right?
  5. Or we need to ban people manipulating the forum with multiple accounts.
  6. To me it isn't individually which skin looks better! but rather which skin fits the character's overall presentation.
  7. There's no point of a que system when people aren't motivated to que for empty contents. In fact, they don't even need a que system to make things better. Simply kill all the sub category menus to make all ongoing groups instantly visible for players looking for activities. The old LFG back before 2015 is far more inviting than the new one.
  8. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ncsoft.lineagem19&hl=en_IN Linage M rated 2.3 stars on player reviews yet it remains NCsoft's biggest and most profitable game today. Bear in mind that, you're talking about a target audience that skip most story dialogues, auto-play most of their game time, and mostly willing to pay to win. For many casual MMO dwellers, they don't necessarily need a good game, elements of online dependancy and progression bait takes a larger part than relative quality of content. Therefore the ratings of any mini expansions don't matter, because it will sell as long as the community depend on its features to stay relevant.
  9. Which is why all NCSofts' current and upcoming MMOs are all featured with autoplay, just to accommodate what the community has become. Might just a matter of time for this one, more booster sales and less moderation effort anyways.
  10. This has become an MMO that, once obtained the Gift of Battle, you can earn yourself a full legendary weapon simply by logging and not playing for a couple weeks.
  11. The game needs replayability, and the balance team need a mean to keep them under a paycheck. The reality we face is that there will always be build-changing nerf and buffs that isn't necessarily made to refine the game, but rather to stimulate gamers to stay active.
  12. This video is over 2 years old, has anything changed in 2023, even at this very moment? There is no unsubstantiated claim here, just you defending the acts while pretending it is something else, which is nothing new for the last 4 years of what you do in any relative topics in this forum.
  13. if you haven't realised, as far as the aging goes within this community, the majority of the playerbase tends to stay away from anything and everything that has an element of competition.
  14. Relic of Golemmancer Summon a hostile Inquest Golem Mark II whenever in combat(Cooldown 45s), 0.3% chance of corrupted Scruffy MK II Relic of Vampirism All your attacks steal health, but self-inflict 20 stacks of burning on broad daylight. Relic of the Forum Dweller Increase poison duration by 50%, but constantly self inflict 10 stacks of torment.
  15. That is where things gets contradictory, the majority of guilds in this game provide very little, if any at all, elements of gameplay.
  16. The main issue doesn't lie in the guilld system, but rather in the skill gap within majority of the playerbase. Given that in the form of casual guilds, the majority of member are economy driven rather than gameplay driven, since web timer and megaserver has all the major loot events taken care of, it's practically impossible for guilds to infuse a common goal, let alone constructing any structured, cooperative scenarios outside of competitive event. Therefore the casual guilds today are merely only chat channels, as a social gathering feature, it's somewhat serves its purpose, but in order for guilds to evolve into anything more meaningful, both the game and the community need to find ways to convert their players.
  17. Quite the opposite, undermining horizontal progression is exactly why OW legendary armor exist in the first place. Players that progressed horizontally already have access to existing legendary armors.
  18. That is only assuming that potential new players will immediately pursuit Legendary Armors at entry, which is unrealistic at best. Veteran players might not have felt it, but since most of the game's essectial progressions, equipments and mounts are already locked behind 4 paying expansions, additional requirement of purchasing their relative living stories, plus a very active gem to gold model. This is already a P2W game for new players, just not yet to the extent of other NCsoft's offerings.
  19. I have a feeling that Anet will eventually give in to these casuals in the next several mini expansions. If so, since we already have a lv80 booster, why not just offer something like a Premium WvW progress potion for 800 gems each? This will help boosting the game financially.
  20. Sarcasm aside, this is very possible given NCSoft's busssiness model, by making every alternatives acquisitions behind a pay wall.
  21. If we look back when Anet just introduced Skyscale and Vision back in LS3, these two also contained some of the most tedious, mind boggling map grind at the time. But despite the player outcry these grinding element did effectively made those maps incredibly active and alive until Icebrood Saga eased the grinding by adding more currency exchanges. Judging we the majority of the expansion is still in development, I believe this could be a similar tactic.
  22. It's not he can't, we just don't bother the effort to bring pack the past 3 years of garbage - in which you too contributed a significant portions of - simply because you too claimed something in which you haven't prove. And I have a surprise for you - nobody felt the WvW approach was any fun either in any of those threads. More importantly, you really need to review your own history - a series of negativity rants pissing nearly every SOTO threads for the last three months. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/profile/760-astralporing1957/ You hate SOTO, you made your point clear, I don't like the design either, Legendary Armor included, but I rather see how others voice about it rather than going through several dozens of negative interruptions made by your BS to "correct people".
  23. Even that, it would still be overpowered, and severely abused, for example, in a WvW scenerio.
  24. I think the idea is that you are supposed to quickswap between multiple relics according to situation, instead of permanently stick with one.
