  1. ^^this for me. With the recent skimmer update, I've been enjoying exploring underwater, especially Caledon as that's one of my favorite maps. In addition to that, I love the music and environment. I go back when I'm feeling nostalgic of when I first explored there as a new player, and do some jumping puzzles, and general roaming to admire the environment. It's not often I turn my graphics settings up to view the environment, but when I do it's worth it.
  2. I totally agree on this point. If you can pass the last step with just swim infusions (which require no mount), then what was the point of this feature? Although I am thankful for them adding it to skimmer and got it only a few hours after release, I am underwhelmed that the swim infusions match mounted speed. It needs a beetle turbo underwater or something to separate it from regular swim infusions. One thing I appreciate about it is the sounds of diving into water and rising above water. It's as if you really are swimming and it matches the same sound exactly. Really great job simulating the sound. I also like the camera splash drops. Well done. Please don't just assume that everyone bothered to get those swim infusions. I didn't, and i'm sure i'm not the only one. ;)Agreed! I don't have a single swimming infusion on any of my toons so the skimmer underwater is a massive speed boost for me. I actually quite love this new feature as it lets me traverse underwater speedily and avoid combat for the most part in favor of admiring the environment. I can now take a proper look at what's underwater without getting horribly bored and frankly fearful of getting into combat. Has definitely made my underwater experience more enjoyable and satisfying for my curiosity. :)
  3. I play my game at the lowest settings possible (using lowest models as well which isn't fun as I like seeing what people's characters look like :( ) But if I could get tun off other people's backpacks it would be fantastic. While they're all certainly pretty, they get in the way of jumping puzzles as well and seeing a map full of people with legendary trinkets massive/shiny backpacks does drop my fps. I begrudgingly have lowest model settings on for sake of fps, so still seeing the shiny gear is kinda odd. :/
  4. Reminds me a bit of that ls3 episode where we infiltrate Caudecus' estate from Lake Doric. As a thief main, it was very nice that I could just pick the lock on the door and sneak in instead of kicking it down. I heard there were other options throughout that instance for different jobs. Definitely hope these little differences appear more in upcoming content. Theres just something a bit satisfying about being true to my toon's job.
  5. Hello! Could we possibly get the other mount skin select and adoption licenses back in the gem store? I really want the Savannah Stripetail from the Exotic Breeds Licenses so especially asking for Exotic Breeds Licenses to be brought back! As a side note, just generally confused why the mount licenses aren't available all at the same time. But nonetheless, asking for Exotic Breeds Mount Licenses (select and adoption) to be brought back!
  6. I have not looked at pricing, but the scribe backpacks are in the trading post and sometimes they drop with a black lion key. Thanks for the comment. However, after checking the TP, I can't find the Practical Scribe Backpack anywhere... Guess I'll have to slowly level up a scribe for now :/
  7. The preview would be a big helpful thing for me. While granted I'm still broke and won't be buying infusions anytime soon, if I could preview the infusions on my characters, I'd know which ones I can gradually work up gold for/aim for in some way. And yes, I know the wiki exists and it's the most helpful site every, however I'd like to preview the infusion on my actual toon to see if it works for the aesthetic/character. Some infusions can look great on wiki and probably horrible on my toon and vice versa and the only way to know this is if I can preview the infusion on my toon in the first place.
  8. I just wish the Commander of Your Heart was a readable book too. Well, maybe. Or... I'm not sure anymore... :D Collecting it actually makes an excerpt readable on the bookshelf :) When I did this with 2 other friends we found out.First of all: Koss' little dialogue was fantastic and honestly I respect the man more for owning multiple copies on top of actually fully reading it. His book was definitely the most questionable one for me.Second of all: the little excerpt we got for "Commander of Your Heart" was fantastic and seeing that we read what I assume is a confession scene in chapter 35(?), I really would love to read the entire book. I actually quite liked it despite its ridiculousness XD But in all honesty, I'm glad Snargle is actually in the game now. After "interviewing" him, I see him in quite a different light. He was pretty well done and honestly rather sweet and while his books, which are hilarious, can be questionable, his reasoning is pretty solid. Also, where's the little excerpt of "Destiny's Pledge" I was expecting? Was looking forward to that one the most but sadly we can't read it's full glory and hilarity. Would've loved to use it to poke fun at Rytlock and Logan.
  9. About the portal, I quite like the waypoint but honestly as I struggle with gold and seeing any amount of money disappear isn't fun, I'd like a scroll. With Sun's Refuge we were able to buy or unlock a portal scroll which went into the Season 4 Portal Tome. A scroll would definitely let me use the location more which I really want to do.... Is there a scroll existing already that I'm just not aware of or does Eye of the North not have a scroll yet?
  10. Personally, I like names that sound like they fit the Tyrian name lore even if they're not actual names :P As a Sylvari player, I've got many Sylvari who have names that aren't actual names/words but they appear close enough so I'm passing them off as okay. I quite like them though! And silly names are pretty neat so long as they're appropriate. There have been many that give me a bit of a laugh and I love that. As examples of some of my Sylvari though, here's a few names: Caertryn (Male Sylvari Revenant) - Probably the only name I have with even a remotely celtic origin word in it. Took the 'Caer' part from 'Caer Aval' in the game because I quite liked how it sounds.Ayrtwyn (Male Sylvari Guardian) - Also made up, but it seems like it passes? I find these two names to be rather pretty.Mavyl (Female Sylvari Elementalist) - The only name I didn't have to shove extra letters into/scramble the letters because I was pleasantly surprised to find this name wasn't taken. Just liked the sound of it. Was originally gonna go with 'Maryl' but my handwritinng made the r look like a v and I ended up liking that more.Klliyn (Male Sylvari Ranger) - Literally just typed in a bunch of letters until it worked/I thought it seemed ok. Bit of a funky name, esp when his Sylvan hound is named Fynin but meh. What works, works.A few other names I have that I won't go into are Elrylle, iltria, and Rublu. (wrote Iltria with a lower case i there even though it's supposed to be capital bc the capital i and lower case l look identical. :/ It's il, not ll) My main, male Sylvari thief, is Satiru which I quite love but it isn't as fitting/Sylvari naming lore appropriate due to me creating this toon as my first introduction to GW2. Nonetheless, I quite like it, but pronouncing it in English sadly makes it less elegant and more harsh-sounding that I thought it would. Still my fav name though
  11. Agreeing with this. Either change the length of time the breakbar is available or don't make the timers randomize. I've been aiming for this achieve many times and usualy with properly organized commanders/groups but with either the lack of people or the changing breakbar appearance times, I've never seen it succeed in my year of playing. When we had real good comms and groups, we couldn't get the achieve because the breakbar timing changing. I feel like if the breakbar timing stayed on specific times (instead of changing), this achieve is way more possible to complete. All I'm doing now is praying we either get another major boss rush event (for the possibility of more people) or for the breakbar timings to change to be consistent. The Shatterer's backpiece is one of the few that I actually want and will use cosmetically too :(
  12. I'd love to have these skins! I wanted to have a nice backpack for my Engi that fits him but the universal multitool pack doesnt quite look well on him. The closest I could get is one of the scribe backpacks (lv125 I think) but that's pretty hard to get to for me. So having all of these skins available in some way so I can pick and choose would be fantastic!
  13. I tried this about a week ago and no luck. Spent a good minimum of 30 mins for 3 days praying that going back and forth would work and no luck. Ended up having to get a friend to craft it.
  14. Has it really been fixed? Anyone on Mac client able to craft it? Been trying for three days now with no luck. Is there a specific order of inputting the mats that I'm missing?
  15. Finally got together all the lodestones only for the LA mystic forge to require 250 of each (which is ridiculous bc I only need 4 total and can't afford all the lodestones). Tried the character loading screen log in/out several times as a previous commentor mentioned, and still can't get the recipe requiring just 10 of each. Really bummed out as the illuminated weapons are perfect for one of my toons :/ Any way this can be fixed?
  16. Seeing the screenshot now, I feel like it'd fit better as a hippogriff. They wouldn't have to change the facial structure then but still get the mythological creature feel right. The legs of that pegasus look more accurate for a hippogriff too.
  17. OP I've seen your previous post when it first came up and I'm happy to know you've gotten the skyscale! Congratulations!! I agree with the fact that I love the skyscale. Definitely my favorite mount no matter what!
  18. I'm so happy!!! So ready to work on that achievement when it comes back then! :D
  19. It's really difficult to single out one particular aspect of this game I enjoy but it has to be Caledon Forest and the Grove for me. The Sylvari were what got me into this game in the first place (thank god Google images brought up images of sylvari for "plant fairy") but Caledon Forest has me in love. Granted, I love many of the maps but the sylvari have a special place in my heart in the year I've been here and whenever I need to relax or just wander around for fun, I know that Caledon's music, scenery, environment, and dialogue will be there for me. And going off of favorite things, the ambient dialogue is amazing. There's so much dialogue in this game that you can come across that are often comedic or random but oftentimes there's a lot of dialogue that reflects the NPC's own issues within their life and world. It makes the game so much more real, an actual world. It serves as a reminder that yes, these dialogues are repeated every 15 minutes or so but it adds a realness to the world of Tyria. It's a game, yes, but if you immerse yourself into the land of Tyria, it is its own world that has wars and troubles just as our own real world does and I love that.
  20. God, I just adore the male Sylvari voice actor. I may have been quite lucky that his voice felt perfect for my first character/main toon but I wouldn't have it any other way. But this man's voice acting just astounds me. I guess I feel so even more than some other players would due to the fact that I played all story after base game immediately one after the other. LS2, Heart of Thorns, LS3, Path of Fire, and a bit spotty but the first two and last episode of season 4, and now season 5 and I'm always blown away by the voice actor. It's real subtle but to me it really sounds like he's understanding that the commander character is heavily emotionally affeted as the story goes on and his voice has these little nuances that reflect that. It's fantastic. In base game he was confident, rather cheerful. Move on to Season 2 and he's surrounded by a sense of urgency (same for much of Heart of Thorns as well), and his voice in LS3 to Path of Fire just continues to get more heavy, darker, tired I'd say. And it works, phenominally. Again, his voice fits my toon perfectly so it really makes the story so much more impactful for me and I love it.
  21. Agreed. Crashing in Divinity's was understandable due to high player traffic, but crashing repeatedly in Brisban Wildlands and the Grove was wild. In the Grove, I was simply jumping down from one level to another or trying to preview the black lion chest and my game crashed repeatedly. About 5-6 times in 10 minutes. Afterwards, in Brisban, it crashed with almost any Holosmith weapon skill (especially HoloForge) and the same thing with Scrapper skill 2. Led to some giggles between my friend and I but the game was unplayable. Probably crashed a total of 12 times within 20 minutes. Battle was impossible and even running up a rock is impossible. Please fix this!!
  22. Wondering if a Boss Rush Event would make it possible. We do seem to see more people playing the boss when the Rush event was active.
  23. With Warg, there's little to none in the aberrant forest usually so hang out in the aberrant forest until a patrol event pops up. (patrol event as in "defeat the aberrant/enemy patrol" like event). Wargs spawn a lot in that one and that was how I got my aberrant warg meat.
  24. uhhhh a Mac bluetooth mouse. Nothing special but it works if you're playing on mac laptop XD
  25. Bit of a late opinion here but for personal opinion? I absolutely loved this episode.Of course that's not to say there weren't faults. I'm not going to particularly point any out as the first page alone of this thread is filled with negative comments. I will point out my disappointment that the boneskinner didn't appear in the actual story content of the episode. If it had appeared in the Raven Riddle maze that would've topped the horror factor for me. (very weak to scary things here)Just a heads up, the spoilers hiding function isn't working for me so beware if you haven't finished the episode (though people visiting this thread probably have) To elaborate on what I enjoyed, my god I could ramble for ages. (I'll try to keep this short): Horror element, fantastic. Jormag very clearly strikes us as a dragon who manipulates us with mind tricks and whispers and it shows. The raven maze where you suddenly lose sight of your friends was chilling. As a player who fully immerses myself into the story and the world when I play, I was horrified and terrifiedOn that note, Sound design team, another fantastic job. The sounds in raven maze are truly unsettling from a pure audio standpoint as well. The music that plays during Boneskinner fight is really quirky but honestly I adore it. The screams you hear if you don't manage to save a kidnapped soldier send shivers down my back every time I hear them. Also thank you to everyone who worked on Boneskinner (if it isn't obvious I love it) but the design is really cool and the sounds it makes really fit it.Yet another Boneskinner niche detail! Finding an injured Vigil soldier and trying to help, only to hear their terrified begging and prayers as you turn around and see the Boneskinner unstealth and kidnap them? Gave me a heartattack but it's real nice that we get these details instead of the game launching directly into "soldiers were kidnapped so we have to save them."Also, going idle (at least in the forest) will spawn the invulnerable champ boneskinner on top of you if the boneskinner event draws near. Gave me a heart attack and a reason for my mother on the phone with me to laugh as I panicked and barely made it out alive with the help of a good old dodgeroll and my trusty skyscale. To whomever decided the Hunger achievement would be a cool addition, thanks, it's horrifying. In the game itself, I had a blast with map chat and joking about trying to find a warg, but once you step away from the collection and actually take a look at what's happening? what you're helping to create? It's gruesome. Also the reminder of npcs scattered throughout the area also turning into boneskinners which remind you what's going on in the map is also another checkpoint for me in the horror. The boneskinner boss battle happening every 15 mins or so makes a lot of sense from how many npcs you can find that are well on their way to transforminghey yeah on note of the atrocious things happening on the map, that introduction where you find dead bodies piled and scattered throughout the building is also gruesome. The fact that you can inspect the bodies and make assumptions on their deaths, the way the biggest pile of bodies is arranged? yeah thanks for the nightmares. Also the three books you can find scattered throughout the map (while I"ve only gotten two of them), are really cool and provide really neat details for the lore and map. Reading about what it's like to transform into a boneskinner from the point of view of the Kodan as well as questioning the entire Norn obsession with Jormag's fang and the reasons for their return to Bjora Marches? Great! The meta involving weather mechanics? Real cool! Yeah I get that people complain about it and how tedious it is but we're in the far shiverpeaks so having the weather attribute is great joy for me as someone who plays for lore and general fun.the new puzzles are real cool and they incorporate mounts in a simple yet understandable way. Clearing out the light puzzles was pretty relaxing amid the fights and general darkness going on with the entire map.The weapons! Haven't gotten around to them yet but I definitely will. I get they're not as flashy as other weapons which some people have complaints about but from a lore standpoint it's wonderful. Since I design my characters and style them and their weapons according to how I think it'll fit them with lore, a subdued weapon design is real ideal and this new set looks like it'll be fantastic for my brand new Soulbeast. As a sylvari main, getting a few lines as a nod to the fact that we've gone through mind games before and that it reminds us of Mordremoth was a real nice touch that I greatly appreciated. Makes me wonder if as the episodes go on, and if Jormag is our enemy, if all characters and commanders will be hallucinating the closer we get to Jormag just as what happened with Mordremoth. All in all, my list goes on. I get people complain, a good mass of the forums is filled with complaints and no one can be fully satisfied. Quite a bit of these complaints can even be taken as constructive criticism. But I think we should definitely highlight what the teams did do well with their updates. Give appreciation where it's due. I'm new in this game but I have immense love for it and what it does in places where it wasn't necessary but make the game a whole lot more interesting because it has those details. And hey, if they know what we did like, the devs might improve or incorporate more of it :D
