  1. @Silent The Gray.3091Hello! Sorry about the lack of a response. We don't check the forums much at all as you can tell. If you haven't found a home yet and think we're a good fit, hit us up on our Discord! That's where we do all of our communications and recruitment. That said, bumpity bump!
  2. We have some recent "joinees" progressing through T2/3 Fractals usually a couple hours before reset most days. Any others in the same boat? Check out or original post on how to join and link up with them. 😺
  3. Just a brief bump. Check out the main post for our guild's info.
  4. Wintersday is here! Give our recruitment post a read above to see if we're a good fit!
  5. Changing post-processing from low to either medium and high brings it back to a slightly more normal look, but still feels darker than how it was pre-patch today.
  6. Happy almost-Wintersday! Check out our recruitment post at the top to see if we share a similar interest. We'll be happy to have likeminded individuals join us!
  7. Hey there! Apologies, I do not check the thread much or sign into the forums frequently for that matter. We're certainly recruiting like-minded individuals who think they'd be a good fit for the guild. If our play-style/times, focus, etc. are in line with what you're seeking, feel free to come on by to our Discord channel as that is where our primary communications are.
  8. Weeee! Weekend time! Check us out if we sound like a good fit for you!
  9. Likeminded individuals with similar gaming schedules should check us out. 😺
  10. After having taken a hiatus from active recruitment, Vanquish is seeking players with a like-minded agenda and playstyle. Established on the Tarnished Coast server 10+ years ago, Vanquish is home to a luxuriously diverse group of people from all walks of life. We are an international guild that value its relationships within the guild and community. VOIP: Discord - primary form of communication. *Voice channels only required at times to be able to listen in on certain events. Home World & Region: Tarnished Coast, North American Region. *Playing cross-region is currently unavailable on GW2 Primary Time Zones: ET (Eastern) & CET (Central European) Age Requirement: 18+ (though most members are 30+) Rep. Requirement: None (though we'd expect that you rep us when we're gaming together) Contacts: Peachblow.2637, Curtegg.5216 & Willy.3285 (NA) or Frans.7930 & Helle.8754 (EU) What to Expect: Vanquish has an open-ended focus in account & character progression, open-world PvE including map meta events, guild missions, dungeons, Fractals of the Mists, strike missions, and some lite-raiding (filled with extended friends or LFG at times). The core of Vanquish have been friends for ten years and counting. So above all, expect lasting friendships that will travel to old and new realms for years to come. We are a small/medium sized guild with the intention of quality over quantity. Our play-time generally caters to a more casual demographic as activity can be sporadic throughout our day. Yes, we have peaks and valleys like most guilds of our size, though expect general activity from around 12:00PM-8:00PM ET/5:00PM-1:00AM CET most days. Guild hosted activities are open to all guild members regardless of your relationship with a meta, so long as you can meet basic requirements (ie: level restriction, agony resistance, etc.) and are receptive to advice and changes to ensure success. Guild Missions hosted every Sunday (2:30PM ET/7:30PM CET) We are LGBT+ friendly and have a wide range of players in our guild from different races, ethnicity, sexuality, age, class, and gender. Discrimination will not be tolerated. Players outside of our time zones or expecting activity 24/7 might not vibe with Vanquish. Does Vanquish sound like a suitable fit for you? Join our Discord channel and recruit with us! Please refrain from messaging me privately on the forums as I do not check them daily. Discord or in-game is best for any questions you may have.
  11. I've been experiencing this for as long as I can remember. The Black Lion Trading Post has just always been really sluggish with the very rare occasion of it working smoothly. I've come across really outdated threads from years ago and I fail to believe there hasn't been some sort of fix already implemented beyond clearing the cache files in the "%temp%" folder. This cache clear doesn't really yield to much success anyway as it remains pretty sluggish regardless. And before you ask or make the suggestions, no, I don't have many other windows open and do not use the horrible and resource-heavy Google Chrome. Is there any permanent solution out there?
  12. I don't think there's been any decent work around tbh aside from disabling DPI scaling or reverting to DX9. It causes other issues: -Disabling DPI scaling makes cursor far too tiny (I personally lose sight of it). Text and windows are also too small, changing UI size makes text seem pixelated and somewhat unclear. -DX9 also causes similar issues with windows looking unclear, pixelated, etc. @Double Tap, do you have any news from the team you can provide us?
  13. According to other players, they've been having issues with this since the spring time. So... I guess we shouldn't hold our breath for a fix anytime soon. 😬
  14. I reached out to their support team via email last night and got some eye-rolling response to change resolution to match what is native to our screens. Except I'm sure most of you are either using windowed mode or prefer a lower resolution since the native 4K one is poorly optimized for our screen (ie: UI is far too small even if changing the UI size). They mentioned reporting the bug in-game with the support option if the issue persists. So... do that, everyone. I'm also told in that email it takes a long time for in-game bug reports to be investigated, verified, and reproduced by the QA team. 🙄 So I guess expect the issue to persist for several months longer as others' have had this issue in the past for the same amount of time.
  15. Probably because they think it's not game breaking, which OK, it's not totally restricting certain activities, but it's kind of game breaking from a mental/mindset perspective to some aspect. A lot of us probably value the "Fashion Wars" aspect of the game and when that's not something that can be utilized nor enjoyed, it becomes a large factor to not want to login.
  16. Never had this issue until today's update. I am using the "Window" resolution mode, though I too am playing on a 4K monitor with the window stretched almost to the complete size of my screen. I can also confirm from the responses above that toggling DPI Scaling off will fix the preview issue, but it makes my UI too small (which is why I don't use the 4K option on GW2 to begin with).
  17. Yes, still exists as of September 11, 2022. Had this happen to me in a Strike Mission (Cold War) if it helps the team at all.
  18. Excuse my ignorance--are you saying you can just align a guild you lead to another without some form of acceptance? I thought there has to be a mutual agreement, just like adding a player to the guild and that player having to accept the invite. The primary guild is one that I lead, so I don't mind reaching out for an alliance, but I'm going on the assumption that these larger WvW guilds would only be aligning themselves with other larger WvW guilds. If they accept the alliance, then that's all fine and dandy, for sure. I guess I am thinking worst case scenario and carrying that personal level of independence.
  19. I've already mentioned what the guild slots are for in an earlier post. You must not have wasted that much time on the thread. Besides, I asked for a civil discussion. Not some passive-aggressive responses that add zero value to the thread. Take that to reddit or elsewhere.
  20. The argument is that you were never forced to have to devote a guild slot to a WvW guild while still playing with friends and community members. Unless one of the five guilds we're in aligns themselves with other guilds within the current server we're in, we have to remove one of those five guild slots and add a WvW guild in its replacement. Something I'd rather not do as I use the current five guilds I have for various other reasons that are equally as important to me. I get that this is more about me, myself, and I, but that is kind of the topic of discussion from my OP. A sacrifice has to be made with this change that did not exist beforehand which is the upsetting part and reason for the post. I wanted my views about this change to be transformed or to be enlightened about what it brings for me or other likeminded players. I see the value of it from a very general, overall view, but the overall view brings sacrifices to myself and those likeminded players in similar situations.
  21. That is sort of how it feels like in a sense, yeah. Hence why I don't do EotM. I've mentioned it earlier in that I'm already at guild cap. I can't join another guild to play with some of the familiar faces I see in my server today. I say some because I enjoy playing with members of a couple different guilds in my server. With the current system, I can login, join a map, and have the freedom of choice to link up with any one of the various guild squads without having to represent them. If I'm not roaming, I'll follow one out of three or four guilds that I enjoy the strategy of. I can't guarantee that these three or four guilds will align together. It's best to assume they will not, thus making it even more of a dilemma if I were to be given a sixth guild slot or I reluctantly remove one of the ones I have. I like the analogy. If it were a sports game, I'd want to be on the same team for the unforeseeable future, not be considered a substitute and be shuffled around to a different team every so often when a team is down a player. This doesn't bring about a feeling of camaraderie or sense of pride in the team and, as you say, unmotivating in the long-term.
  22. I don't quite understand. Anytime I'm online, and I've been online at any given part of the day, there are always enemies to fight. If this is an issue with low-pop servers, there are other fixes instead of changing the structure for every one and every server. "What will happen with me" is the premise to my OP. That was the intention of my post. I wanted to read convincing points about why I should change my views on this alliance system because the current system (again, to me) is not broken and works just fine. I already see a couple of valid points on the overall longevity of WvW with this system, though they face their own issues as well which were discussed earlier (even if most are hypothetical at this time). I personally do not gain anything from this system and instead lose or have to sacrifice for this change which is why I'm upset about it. Lastly, these strangers might not become friends if you're being shuffled as a "filler" regularly. These strangers might be your allies for a short period of time, then your enemies the next if you don't get randomly shuffled as a filler with them again.
