  3. Hey everyone! I wanted to start a small discussion on some of the traits tailored for Auramancer Tempest Elementalist. I'll get straight to the point but, keep in mind, these proposed changes would be from a specifically PvE standpoint. I have only done a few of the easier raids and by no means consider myself a hardcore player but I do like to do content that is challenging, when possible. I think that Anet should move the functionality of "Smothering Auras" in the Fire specialization and add it to "Diamond Skin" in the Earth specialization and removing the "Fire auras have increased duration" functionality. Additionally, "Smothering Auras" should have new functionality that coincides with the idea that the Fire specialization is primarily for damage support. "Diamond Skin" could be renamed "Diamond Shell" and the Earth specialization would be hone its focus on defenses. I believe this would enable Auramancer builds make a much clearer decision on whether to focus on supporting offenses or defenses, based on the party's composition. If the changes were to go through, Fire would have an offensive alternative in place of "Smothering Auras" as well as their might stacking from their grandmaster trait, "Pyromancer's Puissance | Flame Expulsion" and Earth would have the defensive support of "Elemental Shielding," and the proposed, "Diamond Shell." Lastly, in the Tempest specialization, once the alacrity changes go live, players will have a choice between an defensive and an offensive option for their grandmaster trait. These options would be healing with "Elemental Bastion" and alacrity with the reworked "Lucid Singularity." ===== Traits as they are Currently Smothering Auras: Fire auras have increased duration. Applying auras to allies removes conditions, and transmuting auras removes conditions from nearby allies. (Removal upon application: 1 | Removal upon transmute: 2 | Duration increase 33%) Pyromancer's Puissance: Gain might for using any skill while attuned to fire. When leaving fire attunement or successfully completing a fire overload, unleash a Flame Expulsion. (Combat Only) Flame Expulsion: After a short delay, consume might on yourself and release a torrent of flame. Allies are granted might, while damage and burning is increased based on might consumed. (Maximum Might Removed: 10 | Burning Increase per Might Removed: 1/2 seconds | Radius: 240) Elemental Shielding: Auras you grant to allies also grant protection. Diamond Skin: Remove conditions when struck while your health is above the threshold. (Health Threshold: 75%) Elemental Bastion: Heal allies you grant auras to. Grant frost aura to nearby allies when struck while below the health threshold. (Health Threshold: 75% | Number of Allied Targets: 5 | Radius 360) ===== *** "Lucid Singularity: This trait has been reworked. It now applies alacrity to nearby allies upon successfully completing an overload. Duration is now 6 seconds with a radius of 360. " ===== Thoughts? I'm really curious to hear other perspectives because I love this class! I'm also curious as to ideas of what could be put into the current Smothering Aura's place to make this a more acceptable change. My first thought was adding fury but anything critical hit related is typically associated with the Air specialization.
