  1. I'm very happy with the mantra revert, especially because I use mantras as a "high risk high reward" spell in PvP. The mantra of recovery and mantra of resolve are much better with the revert.
  2. GS has maximum damage at a long range, while you're still in melee to get the buff in raids. Most of the time, power mesmer will use sword + sword and sword + focus for raids. If you want to see optimized mesmer build for raid you can see on https://snowcrows.com/builds?profession=Mesmer&role=Any&damage=Any&beginner=0 some builds and rotation.
  3. Well, I wasn't sure that virtuoso would be enjoyable for pvp during the beta. However I just tried a condi build I made myself for the fun and... holy molly I can OS people with insta 25 stack of confusion. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiwAsqZlVwuYqMFGKWOX9xfA-z5YXG9mC1XB+MA Stack 5 blade and use Bladesong sorrow after stunning your opponent with your pistol. If it didn't kill the ennemy, repeat the process after using signet of illusion and blade renewal. Have fun.
  4. What's the purpose of the healing mantra ? Even traited, this heals less than the other healing spells.
  5. Disruptor's Sustainment, it was my favourite mesmer trait. Everytime you interrupted an ennemy you got +1000 healing power for 5 sec. I played that trait with mantra of distraction and Ether feast. If you had 3 clones and could do that combo, it was possible to heal 13k at once and I loved it.
  6. Ranger has a better block with his greatsword than mesmer does with his shield
  7. I did a post some time earlier about it : You won't have any change any time soon I guess
  8. Good build for raids can be found on Snow Crows, however they are very hard to master because the rotation is not easy (unless you play staff mirage I guess but it's situationnal). For pvp you can look at metabattle but there aren't really a meta build for mesmer right now in pvp. It can be good but it's not the strongest that you can get.
  9. I'm sorry for the broken English, it's not my native language. I still can't get over the mantras changes, I really prefer the old mantra system with high preparation time. I didn't use the mantra for the amunnition but for the preparation. For me, it was like a high risk high reward system. I'm fully a PvP player, so the mantra can be easily interrupted because of its long preparation. But it was what it made it interesting in my opinion. You had to hide/ be invisible or prepare it at the right time to get the reward. Especially, i'm talking about the mantra of recovery. For a long time it had a CD of 10sec, before being 18sec. If you could finish the preparation, with some healing power it could easily heal you more than 60% of your HP at once. But it could be easily interrupted/poisoned before so it was counterable. Now the mantra of recovery is only healing 1640 Hp (with a suplement of healing power x0.25) and 2620 Hp (+x0.4) if you're bellow 50% HP. This healing has a 20sec recharge for one ammo. It's incredibly low. Imagine if you have 0 healing power, that would mean that once you have 0 ammo, you can only get during a teamfight 2620/20 = 131 healing by second of cooldown thanks to it. In comparison, you can have 4299/20 = 214.95 healing by second of cooldown with Mirror, which has exactly the same CD, and has reflect, and has a x0.6 multiplier. Signet of Ether heals 5560/30 = 185 healing by second of cooldown has a x1 multiplier, heals everytime a clone is summoned, and reduce CD of all fantasma. Ether Feast can heal 5560/25 = 222.4 healing by second of CD, and this is without any clones active. Even if the mantra is traited, mantra of recovery will give you 3640/20 = 181 healing by second of CD. How is it supposed to compete with the other healing spells ? It has even lower multiplier than the other spell. Signet of Ether can be traited to heal even more and gives you distorsion, which can be synergized with reflect and auspicious angish etc. The mantra of healing is in a sad state and I really hate it. Mantra of recovery was the mantra that I used the most, but I can still speak about the other mantras. Mantra of resolve was also a High risk High reward system that I really liked. If you could prepared it entirely, you could cleanse all the condi you had, but it could be easily interrupted as it had a long cast time. Now it dispells instantly 3 condi. It's not bad, but it lost all this flavour. Seriously, can you do a more vanilla spell than "dispell 3 condi" nothing more, nothing less. At least Null Field can dispel and sinergize with a combo field. Mantra of resolve sinergize with litteraly nothing. Mantra of pain could give you a big boost in power. Now it doesn't, mesmer has even less means to get power. Mantra of Concentration gave you Aegis, quickness and stability when charged. Now it's a 45sec CD breakstun that gives 3sec stab. I mean, for such a long CD we could at least have something else. Mantra of distraction reduced the CD of diversion when charged. It's not the main reason why it was used but : Well I absolutely don't think so. It was the essence of Mantra : High risk High reward. Sometimes, if you could interrupt a healing spell with your last charge of mantra of distraction, it was rewarding even if the CD is then long. Well I'm still waiting that Mantra of recovery becomes better. It's an incredibily low healing spells.
  10. I think that staff 3 needs more a buff than staff 4 ,even if both is needed, staff 3 looks more urgent to me
  11. Hello, I'm using a similar build right now, and I believe that it's decent. I'm using torch instead of pistol, and I use signet of inspiration and signet of midnight : Coupled with Auspicious Anguish, you have more dispel. Signet of midnight becomes a super 7 condi cleanse + stealth + blind + stun-break + disto, and signet of inspiration gives you more alacrity duration. Each time you trigger a signet, you get disto so you can use an ambush thanks to the Desert Distortion traits : my favourite combo is chaos vortex -> signet of inspiration -> chaos vortex, and you will have plenty of boons. To play tanky you can use sage amulet, for a more dps style play with carrion amulet. However, this build isn't capable to burst , and struggles to deal damage against some class like nec or guard. Edit : if you really want to keep feedback, illusionary ambush etc. you should change blurred inscription because you won't use any signet.
  12. I'm here for the fun too. Whenever I'm angry (which is really rare), I don't bother to write it down because it will just worsen the situation. It can be even more satisfying to see somebody raging on you, and you don't respond, just to see him sink in his anger. Even better, if somebody is toxic towards me, it's a free report by me. Will the report change something ? I don't think so, but it's still satisfying to do it.
  13. Because Bifrost is my favourite weapon. And staff 2 is fun.
  14. Give mirage its second dodge back Change chaotic interruption because it's unreliable Malicious Sorcery should be the base AA speed of scepter Escape Artist is useless, nobody choses this over Phantasmal Haste or Maim the Disillusioned Delete Chronophantasma and make every Phatasms stronger (or unkilleable ?) Dune Cloak should directly steal the boons instead of doing what it's currently doing Empowered Illusions and Bountiful Blades shouldn't be on the same tier Buff staff 3 and 4 Many spells are still clunky like Arcane Thievery or Mirage Thrust Any glamour trait would be lovely. Phantasms shouldn't go full CD when ennemy is out of range
  15. PvP is so depleted in terms of population that some Gold 3 are in the "top 250" (in EU)
  16. Oh boy, haven't you played Divinity Original Sins 2 ? Dual scepters is funny build in this game
  17. I mean, I don't see anything wrong with class stacking. If a team is made of five indentical class with the same build and they win, perhaps it's not the fault of the class stacking, but more because of the balance of the build. If a team is made of five indentical class but with different builds, I don't even see it as class stacking. A burn guard is totally different from a boon guard. A condi mesmer is not the same as a power mesmer, and I don't see why they can't both play in the same team.
  18. Most class stacking aren't intentionnal, and if it wasn't allowed, then the population will be even lower and you will get longer queue and more unbalanced matchmaking (algorithm will favor different class, instead of similar elo)
  19. Hello, i'm a PvP player so I will comment your build from a PvP point of view. For PvP content a second weapon set is obligatory, you should take any set of weapon different from the first one. Because you want to play power, you should take GS as second weapon set. If you really like utilities and original power build, you could try to take staff (great mobility but low dps), or wand + torch (wand 3 can be great burst if well placed, stealth of torch is great utility). Sword off hand can be good as power damage in PvE, it can be niche for PvP content. Focus is great for PvE content (pull mobs) but useless for PVP imo.I higly suggest you to take Signet off illusion instead of sand through glass, not only it gives you distorsion and 1 clone thanks to blurred inscription, it also reset the CD of all your shattersDune Cloak can be a good choice for PvP content, notably on some choke point (bell of Revenge of the Capricorn, or Tranquility at Temple of the Silent Storm) but for PvE content, I don't really understand. Mobs don't have boons generally and I think that you will get more dps by having IH.Even if signet of midnight is made to improve condi dps, I always use it for PvP because it short CD stunbreak+stealth +distortion + 5 dispel (given you take blurred inscription) which is a really great utility.Ambush can be kind of tricky for PvP content. You only get one dodge (there are tons of discussion on why this is horrible but I think that you already know that), so I understand that you want to have a lot of Mirage Mirror to create the opportunity of having a ambush attack ,however there are 2 major problem with Mirage Mirror : first, many ambush can be easilty interrupted, notably the wand/staff/sword ambush attacks have animation that are really long, and interruption can really cripple your dps in a PvP matchup. Second, enemies can see your Mirage Mirror, and therefor, know where you will move. Not only they can cast their AOE on the Mirror, they know that as soon you're going on the Mirror, there is an opportunity to interrupt you. Personnaly, i'll use Illusionary Ambush instead of Crystal Sands because you will get an ambush without having to get a Mirror, and it also breaks enemy targeting which is really great for PvP.Otherwise, I think that your other choice of traits and utilities are good for PvP content
  20. Maybe you will struggle to lvl up because mesmer is squishy but it's still very good for PvE content. You don't have much AoE to tag all the mob during big events, but for fractales and raid, mesmer is still a good choice.
