  1. raid sellers make that much in one day. 2k gold is nothing nowadays
  2. Those people that are complaining that raids are too difficult and too inaccessible and elitist simply dont want to make any effort on their end and they just want to join raids with their open world pve build and expect to get carried. The truth is gw2 raids are extremly easy and can be completed with literally 1000 ping because theres very few one shot attacks that will insta kill you like in some other games, its just mini mechanics that you have to know to not wipe the group. Raids do not require much mechanical skill at all, so even " bad players" can complete them easely especially with meta boon stacked comps + 2 healers, i repeat you dont need skill to do raids in gw2. So how do you get into raids with 0 experience? Well first of all you need to at least make yourself useful and pick a role that will help your group, joining raids isint much about you but about the group, how can you make yourself useful? The easiest role is DPS, you want to pick a meta build from snowcrows website and learn the rotation on the golem. Most classes have a viable dps build, if your class isint a top tier dps, it can surely have another role like boons/heals. Then you simply wait till a group asks for that specific role on the lfg. If you can multi class and gear up multiple chars you will find a group alot faster. Then you want to watch some video guides of boss encounters or if you are too lazy like me, you can join groups that say semi+ exp or dont ask for KP. Now listen to this, this is very important what im gonna say, it only takes literally about 3 wipes for you to learn all boss mechanics assuming you get it at least to 50%, 25% or 10% depending on the boss. The scary part is only the initial part when you re totally clueless, after 3 pulls you wont be clueless anymore, dont be afraid to join groups. What happens if you get kicked? Nothing happens, dont try to whisper the commander and dont be mad just join another group, as I said it only takes 2-3 pulls for you to learn. I rarely see people getting kicked, some people tell some total bs stories that I ve never seen myself of heard of. Ive literally played a DPS class with with some rare pieces for the first 3 weeks and only got kicked once because it was SH and I was playing power DPS instead of condi. Most grps wont kick you for bad dps, they will only kick if you wipe the group, like dropping poison on grp at matt or bombing group at dhum etc. Another easy way to get into raids is just to always keep an eye on lfg for training groups but you might have to wait a long time for that for the specific raid that you want, id suggest just joining the semi exp ones or the ones that dont ask for KP assuming you did some research about the mechanics. Then obviously people ask how do they find groups when they have the experience but dont have much KP. You can either be honest with the commander and tell them you are a good player and to give you a chance and if you mess up tell them to feel free to kick you out. Or you can use fake KP like alot of people do since lets be real nobody carries all boss tokens on all their characters. Id suggest using fake KP only if you can do close to SC benchmark and are a good player otherwise it will be too obvious, just be honest and try to not join super high KP grps until you have some or until you get more experience. So quick recap on how to get into raids with 0 experience:step 1: get rid of your open world pve build and find a meta raid build that you like on snowcrows websitestep 2: practice the dps rotation on the golemstep 3: watch videos or guides of raid bosses then join semi exp/ training / non kp groupsstep 4: learn from your failures, as I said it will only take you 2-3 pulls to learn all boss mechanics Gw2 raids are easy, people are just lazy and dont want to adapt or change their build, obviously some players are just bad but they dont want to admit but the majority are just too lazy, I was even too lazy to watch any guides I would just join and hope for the best, it still ended up working because gw2 raids are a joke. So dont be afraid to try, theres nothing elite or hardcore about raids, the truth is hardcore players dont play this game. Have fun in raids.
  3. ^ the truth, duoq and soloq are equally as trash and won't solve the low pop issue and won't make the games better But that's not the issue. The issue is: Which system is objectively more fair? Now, I do agree it is not the biggest problem. Blaming soloQ or duoQ is often misleading. DuoQ does not reduce match quality in general, it can make games less enjoyable for opponents by superior communication, coordination and rotation, but that could theoretically happen without duoQ too, it would simply be less likely. However, it also only improves the match quality for those duoQing. But duoQ allows several tactics to (kind of) break the system - active match manipulation (what was that about rank1 NA last season or so?) or the system well explained by WoodenPotatoes the other day, steamrolling during off-hours. That is what makes the duoQ system unfair - the influence can be debatable. How to solve the population issue is a completely different matter and much more complex than solo/duo or even swiss ATs. And I doubt that is still going to happen. Anytime people try more (communication / duo with partner / coordination like u stated) the match quality goes up. Match quality being higher is always better and with solo less trying = worse quality. Though, match quality being worse is better for those forum sore losers who cry every season because they'd rather complain instead of either improving, trying more, or finding themselves a duo to improve with and its why the community devolves every season. Also no offense to WP, but hes a plat 1 player at best who got a lucky streak day 1 of season(due to the volatility of ratings day 1) and placed high and is speaking like he actually can climb the leaderboard. Theres a reason hes been camping his rating and hasnt q'd since, lets see where he ends at 120 min games. If op is right and he said map awareness and mechanics aren't needed to climb then hes just as clueless as most people on this forum about the leaderboard. Leaderboard has nothing to do with skill or map awareness but somehow those with the best awareness/skill are at the top end of season every time :thonk: No offense you re plat 1 too at best without duo Qing at off peak hours. If Wp managed to get rank 1 it means any1 else can do it with duo Q abuse at 5 am. Its why your solo Q account that you even duo Qed half of the games on it barely broke plat 2 lul
  4. i agree raids should be able to be completed by spamming 1111 just like the rest of the game and open world content. I cant spam 111 while being alt tabbed and clear the content its too hard
  5. I think guild wars 2 is the only game where you can evade while doing damage, its such a stupid mechanic that dosent exist in any other game, its either you are evading/blocking, playing defensively or attacking but not both at the same time. Its why this game has such a low skill cap/floor because you dont have to use your brain, since you can do damage while evading. You dont have to think which ability to use at the right time because in both cases you will get rewarded for your decision, if you re playing revenant and you press sword 3, you get rewarded with an evade+ damage+ a teleport ability. Same with other classes like staff thief / condi thief and mirage that can evade while doing damage and slb with smokescale and other builds with tons of blocks/invuls. Look at condi thief that can stack 5 condis with a dodge, how does it make sense that the biggest burst of a build is their dodge? It makes totally no sense, the game has been dumbed down to the absolute lowest. It makes me not wanna play anymore because it feels like Im just playing a game designed for 8 year olds that dont have their brain fully devolopped yet, there is 0 strategy at this point, just spam. Some Invulnerabilities have been nerfed but nothing has been done to evades that also do damage at the same time. This game dosent require any mechanical skill anymore, the difference between a good player and bad player is just rotations, playing meta builds, + duo Qing or not duo Qing is whats gonna decide the outcome of a match , whether you know how to play your class or not is totally irrelevant at this point because of how easy this game has become since launch. Obviously it is too late now but I still felt the need to say this maybe the devs wil do something about a broken mechanic that dosent exist in any other competitive game. Or they could simply implement a debuff of - 50% power/condi damage while you are under the effects of a defensive skil like invul/block/evade for every class in pvp only. that way people will not be able to faceroll the keyboard and be rewarded for spamming defensive cooldowns while doing damage at the same time.
  6. I find it amusing that you keep mentioning your imaginary high win rate and high skill level when I cant even find you on the leaderboards, you also claimed to be a top tier multi classer, yet ive only seen you play single button sick em ranger and nothing else. You seem to be delusional, and since you defend duo Q so much and still no where near top 10 or even top 50 just proves how delusional you are and not as good as you claim.
  7. We all know the gw2 population is too low to create any sort of competitive or remotely fair environment in regular ranked Qs which means one side is always going to have an advantage versus the other side simply because there arent enough players available for a balanced match. Now if you look at duo Q its basically guaranteed nearly 100% of the time that the duo Q team is going to have an advantage because for a fair match there would need to be another duo Q of high rating on the enemy team which is rarely the case and high rated Duo Q players tend to dodge each other for easy matches. Ill give you a perfect example of what is the current system in gw2 and try to compare it to a game with high population like overwatch. Basically lets imagne for a second that overwatch has a low playerbase and lets say i am a masters level player 3500 rating. If I Duo Q with my friend that is also 3500 rating and we end up farming people that are 2000-3000 rating for the entiere season, at the end of the season me and my friend would end up at something like 4500+ rating which would basically be an inflated rating gained by winning against lower rated players while duo Qing. Its basically what is happening in gw2, there isn't enough players in platinum + to balance out the duo Qs of 1600+ rating. its how people end up with 1800+ rating but in reality they are not even a 1800 rating caliber player, they could be as low as 1600 but since the playerbase is too tiny and duo Q can pick the class they are playing/ voice coms and they are guaranteed to have 1 less lower rated player on their team its almost a guaranteed victory 90% of the time. Why do you think the top 10 players on the leaderboards have 80-90% win ratio? The only way that is possible is by winning against players much lower rated than you are. Its why even the top 100 in overwatch dont reach 60% win rate because they are fighting people of equal rating and they cant be winning 80% of the time or 100% of the time like in gw2. Now obviously its not the players fault that this game dosent have any players but duo Q just makes it impossible to solo Q and not really enjoyable if you re going to lose as soon as you fight a duo Q while you dont have a duo Q on your team. Before people say " why you just dont duo Q". because its not fun to have easy games and win all the time, whats the point to duo Q if you are guaranteeed to win all the time? I mean sure you get alot of gold from pips but i dont see any other benefit, its why arenanet should make a team Q and a solo Q leaderboard instead of having unranked, it dosent serve any purpose. Just make solo Q which will be the casual mode by default and 5 man teams will compete in the 5 man team Q.Having duo Qs against solos is just not fun and not competitive or fair for anybody. Solo Q players are tired of getting farmed by duos and high rated duos are tired of effortlessly winning 90% of their games, its not fun for anybody, there needs to be separate Qs.
  8. The answer is simple, its because of the zerg oriented content which is 90% of the gw2 content. Do you really think people are gonna watch you spam 1111111 on some boss / group event where your skill is totally irrelevant and you could be alt tabbed while auto attacking since the content is really easy and not engaging and mostly just zerging. MMOs not being as popular as FPS is another reason but theres a reason why WoW and other games have viewers and guild wars 2 dosent . Its not fun to watch, the only thing that could be fun to watch is PvP that is not zerg oriented or some super hardcore raid/dungeon which gw2 dosent have unless you low man it on purpose on CM mode. Any content thats not engaging and dosent require skill will never have any viewership on twitch, because people want to watch something that they arent able to do themselves. its why people watch pro streamers etc. Anybody can join a zerg and spam 1111, so why would they watch some1 else do it ? its like watching other people sitting on their sofa. If gw2 started to release hardcore content thats based around small scale instead of zerg fests there would be a way higher viewership and playerbase. For those saying twitch views dont matter its a blatant lie because it does matter alot, its how alot of players find the games they wanna play and its how people decide whether the game is worth investing into or not. If it dosent have any presence on platforms like twitch or youtube its a huge handicap for the game and its overall longevity and popularity. Theres a reason why the most played games in the world also have the highest twitch viewership its not a coincidence, so for those saying it dosent matter you are being extremely delusional.Anyways like i said, if this game wants to expand and attract more players it needs to focus on releasing challenging small scale content and less zerging content. It dosent mean zerg content has to be removed, but there needs to be a variety and there neeeds to be content available for all types of players. Currently gw2 only caters to casual players and its been like this since release, obviously it is a bit too late now to start but.. its better than never.
  9. maybe they just want people to actually not play ranked and pretend it dosent exist since its such a meme at this point
  10. Why do they have to lock pvp players out of content for 2 weeks but not other game modes. Actually raiders are locked for a year :P theres a difference between not being able to play and not getting updates. Spvp hasent gotten updated in 7 years since release so yeah. Unless you count the addition of the new maps but still no new game modes.
  11. i dont like to play with other people why would i do ATS. unless they add an option to solo Q for AT and in game voice chat.
  12. So you re telling me that when the season is active you re locked out of pve/wvw and forced to do only spvp? I dont understand that logic. Why is there not a pve/raid season where players cannot join open world pve/ raids / wvw and have to wait 2 weeks. Why do they have to lock pvp players out of content for 2 weeks but not other game modes.
  13. Is that literally what the devs want? And some players might potentially never come back after playing something else for that perioid. Theres literally nothing to do and no reason to play unraked since theres no rewards and its just getting farmed by 5 man premades or fighting bronze players since theres no matchmaking. Contrary to overwatch the season restarts like 2 hours after it ends, why in gw2 you have to wait almost 1 month? I just dont get the reasoning behind it from a business standpoint why would you want your customers to leave your product and potentially never come back because of such a long wait, it makes no sense. Why not just restart the season immediately after the previous one has ended?
  14. Anybody else is tired of those 500 LI and 100 kp grps that have lower skill level than some1 with 100 LI and 20 kp? Its like making a PvP team based around number of matches played, sure the amount of matches played does indicate player experience but not their skill level. its why there are people that are rank 500 in pvp with 10k matches that are stuck in gold/silver/ plat 1.This is especially annoying when im trying to raid on my alt that dosent have much KP and dont feel like switching to my main. Sometimes I join the 50 kp grps on my main that perform far worse than 20 kp grps, they die on first boss then everyone leaves or they start kicking people that are not friends with the commander and replace them by other people. Can we get rid of KP system and instead be able to track a player average DPS and the amount of times they go down and damage they take instead? These numbers could be tracked with something like a DPS meter but instead of 1 raid encounter it would calculate the total of the previous boss encounters. That way we can truly weed out the bad from the good and not just people that only raid on their main account since day 1 and claim to be talented. Its like people used achievement points back in the day for dungeons, i remember joining 10k only achievement point groups that had full soldier gear warriors and shout stafff guardians claiming to be experienced, since bad players tend to over estimate their skill level there needs to be something else other than KP to measure skill level. This system is especially toxic to new players that are starting raids and wont be able to join any grp without full leggy armor or 50 kp of end boss.
  15. So i was looking to make a mes for raids and the usual build is a tank minestrel chrono in pugs. So why I cant find that build on their page? Dont they use any thoughness gear? if so, how do they aggro the bosses? or is there different strat in pugs vs organized grps.
  16. So Thieves didn't have blocks, and blinds on top of the evasion along with either being being able to engage and disengage at will with teleports, or had perma stealth? The last two something mesmer could not do? (and was far superior to a mechanic like illusions) Thieves don't have blocks, DD does and it is on more than twice the CD and twice lower block duration than the one used by Mirage. Mirage always had more blinds than thief and I do not consider Stealth to be defense, but rather utility, that's why I didn't mention Blinds nor Stealth as Defense in Mirage kit either, it would be hypocritical to say Thief has Stealth or Blinds as defense but Mirage doesn't even though Mirage has access to all of those. I am not complaining about Mirage evassivnes, I am saying that DD is simply supposed to have more.About the Weapons, the defensive options are once more Evasion for the most part, I'd rather have more viable Utility options (which thief is completely locked in to) than having to rely on something that consumes a resource for both weapon sets and thus can't just swap weapons and continue fighting, which brings us back to the current Mirage's build with 8-second CD 2sec Duration block that spawns clones vs DDs 20-second CD 1.5 sec Duration block (which is irrelevant because at the moment no meta DD build even exists and the old D/P does not use it), so Mesmer/Mirage is definitely on the good side too when it comes to defense incorporated in weapons, especially when you consider that Thief uses Initiative to deal dmg/evade etc. and thats it, it just gets consumed, while Mesmer weapon skills do the same only on top of that they also generate resource to use other mechanics like Shatters or simple continuos dmg/condi apllication or Trait-benefits tied to number of clones, I am not complaining about that, just saying that Mesmer weapon skills are very much no-worse than thieves. Since release Mesmer was replaced by thief up until HoT, and was only taken for Portal and TimeWarp, both taken for the team. After S1 Chronobunk was nerfed it was condi mes mostly taken for Portal and double Moa. I don't know how that's "filling every roll" I hope you are not intentionally misinterpreting what I said, I never said that Mesmer filled all the roles, I said Mirage did and that is undeniable truth.I agree about the Anet nerfing wrong stuff, but Mirages survivabiltty was also far too great considered that even on defense it applied great pressure so I am glad that some of it got nerfed.mirage does fill all roles currently, it can tank, team fight, 1v1, hold 1v2s, CC, DPS, res with chaos storm/ invul. and also has insta cast ranged CC with no animation thanks to daza mantra
  17. sustain and survival go hand in hand, mirage has plenty of boons, invul and evades on top of double chaos storm. Also while the enemy is perma immob and dazed they cant attack back obviously. Mirage is broken beyond belief, there needs to be emergency nerfs asap
  18. mirage has the sustain of old scrapper while having the condi damage of a scourge and still can 1v2 people effectively and disengage like a thief. Its very balanced btw.
  19. you can solo them it just takes forever
  20. yes condi mirage is the most overpowered spec in the game
  21. theres no counter to CI mesmer, the counter is to reroll to mesmer yourself
  22. condi mirage has too much damage and too much sustain
  23. play mesmer then problem fixed, i see bronze level mesmer players in my 1600 rating games so yeah.
  24. seems like it will never get one, or maybe it will in 2 seasons when pvp will have only 100 players left
