  1. Oh you are german i'm from netherlands :)but no i can't speak german. I bought that laptop at mediamarkt and i see germany also have that store. I hope i do get my money back i don't want store credit there is no laptop i want there. They don't have a newer hp and like all the game laptops are overpriced and i look them up and have also heat problems. And like a lot of gaming laptops i look up have heat problems. I have no idea what to buy. Axept if i do get my money back i can buy that newer hp laptop they say have better cooler system but i'm afraid i'm getting the same problem with gw2. Just want a laptop were i can play gw2 on without getting the heating problem but it's hard to find a good laptop.. i hate laptops now It's not that hard, I don't know what your store options are there, which might limit section. However From HP, you want something from their Omen line, in the USA one good enough to play GW2 will start around $750, however most higher end PC stuff over the pond tends to cost significantly more. ASUS would be from their ROG line, Dell is their "G" gaming line and their Alienware line, Alienware however is significantly more than the G line etc etc, each brand has their own gaming oriented line. Myself I have a HP Omen laptop, I don't use it for gaming, I used to travel for work alot and had an Alienware for that, but when it came time for a new one, I went with the Omen as I was looking for something that wouldn't over heat just watching videos or video editing, the Omen does great at this and I have played a number of games on it including GW2 and it does fine and you can change fan profiles on your own, it can get loud, but it cools quiet well. It has two larger heatsinks, two large fans and 4 heatpipes. The laptop is bulky in that it's about 3 times as thick as the other "normal" HP laptops. I also looked at the Hp omen do you have the hp omen from 2019? cause i saw on youtube that the 2018 have heat issues The 2018 issues were due to fan profiles, you can change yourself, default just favored lower noise. HP also released an updated BIOS with a higher default fan speed on them to fix the issue.but i read for some people that didn't work did it work for you or do you have the 2019 one

  5. Yes well i downloaded it but not fully just when it was ready to play but the loading the screens takes so long.. so much longer then on my old laptop what is a cheaper older one intel core i5 4210u CPU 1.70 ghz 64.b geforce 840m and i play gw2 more smoothly on my old laptop on med settings then on this new one that's weird...Now that's some new information, yet very important one. I have yet to see a game with a "download just a bit and then play, the rest will download in the background" function, that runs as smooth during the download as it will after the download has finished.I know downloading the entire game can be a painfull waiting game (my game data is about 50 GB and I'm sitting on a poor 10 MBit Internet, one can easily do the math....), but I suggest you give in to it. Just download the game and then give it a shot again, loading times should improve greatly. If you still have trouble afterwards, feel free to come back here and look for help. well i downloaded the game fully and it run smoothy in the first 10 min also in group events but that changed when i uplugged the power adapter to check if without it also works good but its not and now with power adapter italso not running smoothly at all anymore. Maybe stupid to mention but maybe it also have someting to do with that it's really hot inside the house because of the hot weather outside? Also I'm kinda upset that i bought this laptop for the same price i could have bought the same laptop but better.. instead of 2.2 ghz and nvidea gtx 1060 i could have a 2.6 ghz nvidea gtx 1650 .. please don't tell me that laptop is gonna be a lot better for gw2 then this one i have now I don't think i can return this laptop.. this is so frustrating i bought this expensive laptop for gw2 :( Alright, we have several possible issues here, some clear, some of the "probably" category.1) if you intend to play "real" games (aka games that are actually hardware hungry) on a laptop- never ever do so without the power cable plugged in. Removing the power source will inevitably lead to either a empty battery in no time or (which is probably the case here) to massive throttling to save power. If you didn't change any settings, power saving options have probably kicked in aswell, leading to the same result. That means your CPUs performance decreased to the absolut minimum the moment you plugged it off.Talking about energy settings- make sure that they're set for "highest performance" when your laptop is plugged to a power source.2) if it's really hot in your home, this can indeed have an influence on your laptops performance. As mentioned before, cooling is one of the major factors when it comes to laptop gaming. To improve the heat situation you can try to put something below the back edge of the case, so the rear part gets lifted by about ~ 1 cm to improve the air flow on the bottom side. Just make sure you don't block any fan exhausts. If you want to go further, you can try a cooling pad (usually are priced between 20 - 50 €), though I personally never felt the need for it. But I also do quite a lot maintenance for my machine.Talking about maintenance: you will want to clean your fans regulary at least twice a year, even more often if you live in a smokers home or have pets that lose hair (e. g. cats). If you want to check your temperatures, you can use several tools to do so, like CPUID HWMonitor (just search for it, easy to find, install and use). No way to tell if the other laptop would have been better by the few informations given, though the difference regarding GW2 shouldn't be significant. Thank you for helping me i really appreciate it. I tried the game last night. It run smoothly but then the game freeze and i had to turn my laptop off. My laptop was getting very hot. I hope this is because it was still 80 degrees inside the house Although i see on youtube that other people have heat issues with this laptop. I'm going to try the game again tomorrow when it's less hot outside. Stupid hot summer days. You're welcome, have been forced by circumstances to play on laptops for.... well... 15 years now? Pretty much time to learn things the hard way...Well, seems as if we are on the right track, but apparently there's still some way to go. You mention 80 degrees inside your home- I assume that's in Fahrenheit. Since I'm not familiar with this scale I had to check what that's in degree Celsius- should be somewhere between 26-27°C, is this correct? And if yes- that's quite warm and I would surely not feel very comfortable, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue for a laptop with proper cooling. Stupid questions- the laptop's cooling fans spinning? You mentioned your laptop got very hot when it crashed- did you just feel with your hand on the outside or did you actually check the temperatures with a tool, as mentioned above? Those numbers would be very helpfull to see if heat is the main issue. Yes 27°C . I think I hear the fans spinning when i listen closely or it's just a laptop sound i don't know. I downloaded the CPUID HWMonitor and the temparatures are between 80 and almost 100 °C like immediately when i start playing. I know now that this hp laptop is from 2018 and have heat issues and the 2019 hp gaming laptops fixed this heat problem i saw in a youtube vidio and the cheapest new one is only 100 euro's more so that sucks very bad. Is it not dangerous to have such high temparatures?Alright, looks like we had some thread merging here, but anyway...Temperatures between 80-100°C right on start of GW2 are definetly not normal, so there's definetly something wrong with your machine. Also you should hear the fans loud and clear when your machine gets that hot since they should run at max. speed. Temps in the high 80's to 100 can also cause permanent dmg to core components. At least that explains why your laptop crashes when playing GW2...For comparison: my GPU (GTX980m) barely reaches 70°c even after stretched play sessions in summer (laptop is almost 4 years old) and my personal temperature threshold for my CPU is at 80°c. If my CPU gets warmer, it's time to clean up the cooling system. Sadly it's hard to say why your machine gets that hot, there are a lot of possibilities, ranging from bad windows settings to broken fans, unplugged fan cables, bad thermal paste or an overall bad designed cooling system. Yeah i expected that :( Thank you anyway for the helping. I'm going to set the laptop back to factory settings and try to get my money back.
