  2. I meant from aura on overloads + aurashare. Using mech as a reference for what is acceptable in the game is the way of showing devs that something is wrong
  3. Too much passiv stability. Subgroup in pve would have a permanant stack of stability or even 2 just from overloads. Id say it would be "mech-tier" (to me: OP)
  4. OP Swap sunspot for cleanse on aura. And probably change warhorn for focus.
  5. Very good post, we can probably add to the list, the chase of "unique modifiers". Every class got hit, but warrior's unique banner buff was the wheel chair holding a "disabled" class rolling. They also got hurt more by that general design change ( a good change i'd add btw)
  6. - You cant "heavily rely on team comp" as a PUG. You have to fit with what youll be paired, aka the meta. Also when you say that the DPS build requires stab coverage and cleanse, thats pretty useless cause super obvious. On the other hand, you should stress wayyyy more that you need a duo tempest to carry you EE. - Actually, crit immunity while in earth is a godlike trait ... - id like some footage showing that you can get that much EE alone in real fight, i doubt you throw randomly your very few finisher on CD. -running a catalyst condicleanse "along a scapper" is legit overkill. Scapper cleanse more and gives superspeed, (and also stealth). Sadly ... Just run 2 scapper if you really want that much condi cleanse
  7. Actually, What OP describe as balanced is how every single profession EXCEPT elementalist should be designed. Why ? well as described in that topic Why alac heal tempest has issues ? Healing is tied to water. And thats a recuring issue "X is tied to A-element". Elementalist is supposed to have utility through its attunement but if you go to an attunement whose purpose is not what your build is meant to do, you hurt your rotation. (See power weaver doing only fire fire air air repeat, any water or earth press is a huge mistake. Utility slot of ele should be defining the build so hard that you could do the job almost as well as any other class with only your utility ..... But that would quickly be insanely broken (well ... Afk power engi factored ... Maybe not actually LOL). Tl;dr Having whole attunement useless for some build is bad design
  8. Boonsupport DPS water-earth Diamond skin ? in zerg ? how does it even cleanse a single condi ? I'm not sure about aura share either. And stench aura too, stability is provided by other classes (low aura generation of hammer, and stench giving a single stacks make it irrelevant) Condicleanse DPS Not sure we can qualify that as a condi cleanse build considering it cleanse almost nothing for teamates .... again, low aura application of hammer + commitment of 2 trait (aura share + cleanse ... with no transmute) is weak AF. Stop drop and roll might be better than auto aura i think. Pure DPS Taking Empowered empowerement without any trait to generate extra stacks of EE means you enterly rely on your mate to give you enough aura to actually use that trait .... in wvw i'm not sure the meta classes give their allies aura -> build only viable with a duo tempest. Imo all those build need refining and better though. Then again, cant blame anyone for stuggling to get a decent hammer build considering how trash hammer is, and how lazy design catalyst is
  9. Tell me if i got it right: -dont nerf mechanist, but buff people to mechabist strengh -dont buff people to firebrand strengh but nerf firebrand ??? On a serious matter: mech and FB are so overloaded that bringing other spec to their level would be deadstupid. Like there would be no way to differenciate boonsupport spec if Anet was to do such a stupid moove. Just nerf FB and mech already. Both have been problematic since their release On topic, People said it, quickness duration will be key. Regarding the 360range, im fine with it, Anet is bringin more and more support skill to this radius, it seems to be the norm (ele's rock solid range buff when ? )
  10. Single target longrange weapon-> longbow Maybe something with less attunement swapping. I saw people suggesting only 2 attunement to select for instance. I throw here something like "the more you stay in an attunement, the more buff you gain (benefit lost on swap (could be a GM trait to actually make the buff linger and another one that reverse the buff: the longer you stay the weaker it becomes, so people wanting to attunment dance can also be happy))

Might have been me a while ago (paused the forum ^^) When we were discussing tempest and aurashare i said they needed to put most (if not all) aura related trait in a single line (water seems obvious but not mandatory ... I see arcana actually better suited since aura is all element ... You know, lore and kittens). Back when the game launched every profession had iits power line, crit line, defense line, heal line and core mechanic line. Over time most crit lines turned into condi lines. And lines became more and more focused toward their theme ... Except ele. And you can clearly see that remnant with last patch and warrior ... Anet decided to put the 5% crit trait in the condi line ... That used to be the crit line ... Years ago LOL You want condi on ele ? Pick fire and earth and you re not even good to go cause you have no condi-coverage (also youre still made of glass unless you give up some condi for aura on prot or cleanse on aura) Lets look at necro, i can pick the condi line (curses) and lets say death magic (defense) and be almost maxed out on condi while taking real defensive options. Thats one example amongh dozens. While all classes need to trade off for lines. Ele needs to do trade off within the trade off! Tl;dr Specialise core lines

Video is good, just sad that you tainted it yourself with those terrible comment: "catalist has no mobility" when you escaped using fresh air and super speed on air ..... yup, catalist has no mobility indeed. "catalist has no damage" when you bursted (and that's a big word to use) an IMMOBILE bladesworn ... not insane damage for a fire air build tbh. probably more reliable than fresh air scepter but definitely lower burst.
  13. What build is "kicked in the nuts" actually ? Let's be real, no one is running core ele. That let you with ONE trait line (X + water + elite spec) to add boons to your shared aura if aura share stays in water ... pretty weak. I'd rather enhance my selfish boon generation on every build made to be selfish (aka not support aka not tempest)
  14. Said long ago somewhere that they should put all "boon on aura" trait into one trait line (and some in the same tier to force meaningfull choice). Back in that day i called water. And i think that this idea merged with "moove powerfull aura to tempest" makes a golden combo. If tempest is meant to be the support spec And if Aura is ele's mechanic (which i think) Then making aura share onto tempest makes more sense and allows for core ele buff as it cant share his enormous acces to boon through aura

Have the OP even played catalist since beta1 ? big LOL First statement is false since beta2 Second statement is false, by running no empowering trait, i can get to 7stack "randomly", you dont need both evasive and vicious to get to 10. Evasive is plenty enough. BUT the main idea remains true: you need 2traits for one to function. 3rd statement ? you guessed it: false too. It's super easy to maintain aura traits. Sure it ask some work and force rotation, but it's ele we're playing so i guess that's normal. Of course all of the above i said is untrue for Hammer. Which makes the 4th statement true: hammer is terrible. Since beta1 it has been stated in virtually every post related to ele, and nothing changed. EDIT: I'll add that here: To me the biggest flaw right now is the loss of all energy if downed. Make no sense, is very punitiv.
