  1. I stand corrected, but i"m pretty sure the end result was the same: changing appearance of endgame gear was never free.
  2. Transmutation charges were always required, from Day one. I remember buying a ton of them on the first sale ever. The only exception were a few specific skins that could be applied for free - HoMonuments, later achievement point track skins.
  3. Hello. We often see discussions about expansions, or rather the lack of them, on the forums. I believe these discussions fail to realize the one major downside to expansions, which I personally believe to be the reason none are planned currently. Its not the amount of content. Its not the content types. Its the fact that expansions split the playerbase. In an MMO this is a serious issue. While some players are fanatics like me that would buy every expansion no matter the price, a regular player sees an expansion and thinks not only "Is this a good buy" but also "Are my friends going to buy this too? Who am I going to play this with if they do not?" Making playable content universal and only monetizing out-of-play elements like the cosmetics, eliminates the problem and still lets Anet monetize most elements that would go into an expansion, like the armor skins and so on. Another thing Id like to point out is that unless ulyou believe the team is slacking off on the job, the total amount of content produced should be constant - the terrain artists are going to put out the same amount of new maps per day, the animators are going to put out the same number of new moves, ni matter how the content is packaged. Thank yoi for reading! Have fun in the game!
  4. I am afraid your request is very unlikely to be granted. It would cut straight into the revenue system and Gw2 revenue stream is rather shallow these days. However, I would point out that transmutation charges can be acquired quite easily by exploring one of the major city maps, which is relatively easy and quick.
  5. -underwater content: underwater content was supposed to have been one of Gw2s specialties, and it turned out unpopular. While a great rework would be possible, with Anet having to conserve resources these days, I wouldnt expect too much. -southsun survival improvements: with the hunger games craze having passed, Id say unlikely. -new weapon types would require an immense amount of resources - a host of new animations for starters. At this stage of the game's life cycle, I'd be quite surprised. -under 80 chat channel: first tume Ive heard of the idea. Doesnt seem too resource intensive, so possible, but with the great majority of players playing at lv80 and downscaled... I dont know. -new pvp an wvwvw exclusive legendaries: while possible, note that Anet has not even indicated any more pve legendaries, and thats where the majority of players are. But then, Pvp is Anets dream, always has been. Remember.. ARENA net... -vertical maps: I doubt it. The complexity and annoyance of HoT maps seeems to have pleased few players and annoyed many. For the same amount of resources, a more horizontal map looks bigger on the map, makes spectacular sights easier to build, makes better use of mounts and annoys people who just want to get somewhere much less. -books and movies. Theoretically possible, but even World of Warcraft only got one movie... and it wasnt received all that well... -built in video: I dont think existing streaming tech is perceived as lacking.... -guild halls: I know nothing.
  6. ANET shifts in cobtent seem to give soem answers: -Dungeons: given how long it has been since last new dungeon content, it seems dungeons are not popular enough to warrant additional content. Raids are more recent and still get support, ans even therr you can see Anet needs to stimulate use with concepts like the new Strike missions -new body types and hair styles: while possible, since such changes are auto-monetized, new body types can be an issue with armor and costume compatibiliy. Much as Id love them, I don't realy expect them. New hairstyles have been added in the past, so possible. -mounts in Tyria: since mounts are tied to Path of Fire expansion, I would not expect them to become available freely. You can hold hope, though, since it seems Anet are shifting away from expansions (since they split the player base) -cosume changes: given the number of costumes in the store as compared to armor, I wouldnt hold.my breath. Costumes are monetized and a single product that doesnt need to maintan backward compatibility, and are thus much less resource intensive addition player housing: whike nothing indicates any development in this area, I personally have a bit of hope left - mounts are already getting a bit saturated with content, so Anet needs something new, and a new player housing system could be just that.-new professions, future lore : no idea. Unless Anet says something or that_shaman mines it, we know nothing... I'll have to continue in a new post...
  7. Pact scout at entrance to Verdant brink: "So, suddenly this kid runs up from the passage, with a very worried looking bear behind her, and before I can say anything, she runs down the slope... yelling something about " Clever girls!" Poor kid..."
  8. So, I'm helping my wife get her Skyscale, and I brought all her characters to Domain of Kourna to start farming the hearts there. Including her lvl 68 ranger... with some of her gear at lvl 35-55... The experience was amusing indeed. In Arkjok ward, the poor girl cant even use the torch to burn the infected crops, since they are immune to such low power conditions! The lvl 80 critter rats in the same heart take some 4-5 greatsword swings to finish off! It's actually quite fun to do the pirate supply shooting since you cannot afford to get attacked! It turned out to be an amazing roleplaying experience, really, feeling like a Gavroche character in a great war! If I get the time, Ill try to roleplay some other events, If I can find them. Ideas? Ww2 like "tear down propaganda poster and run" at the Astralarium and sneaking around the prison due south? Sorting artifacts, motivating troops and fishing up in Thunderhead... It truly refreshed the playing experience for the day :)
  9. Thanks, sounds like a plan. Time to practice.
  10. Hello. Ive been playing GW2 since the beta, but have been neglecting my mesmer for years. So, I got myself the build and gear for the PvE recommended build on metabattle, https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Mirage_-_Axe/x_Infinite_Horizon , but due to lack of experience, I'm struggling a bit with getting the build to work right. Would anyone using the build be so kind as to give me some recommendatiobs regarding how to play it? How to best enter combat, rotations, which skills to use immediately and which to save for tougher foes... Open world PvE, of course. Thanks!
