  1. There is one player who, regardless of how well his team is doing, always manufactures a lame excuse halfway through the pvp match, then ragequits and sits in base hurling abuse at his teammates. Always the same pattern and nearly the same words. This has been going on for multiple seasons. Why hasn't he been banned? He gets reported every time.
  2. There have been some lopsided matches. But I was on the losing side of an epic 501-500 final score match today at lunch on the Battle of Khylo map.
  3. I quit for the day after two in a row. But I usually only play three ranked matches a day. About ten percent of my matches this season have been edge of the seat, intense and close competitions. Another 20-40% are decent competitions that aren't mismatched but usually don't go down to the wire. A few times, I have accidentally queued with my 10 year old daughter (forgot to leave party first and she clicks yes right away) and she is a couple of tiers below me, which handicaps my team even though she plays well for her age and by my estimate a little above her rank. People who lose their connection/log out don't frustrate me as much as the ones who give up partway through and camp in the start area because they cost you rank points even if reported. That sort of morale failure is also very emotionally immature and those people really don't belong in a team competition, especially with pickup teams. I see playing until the bitter end/500th point against a better team or being outnumbered as an opportunity to hone my skills in desperate situations for matches where that edge can make a difference in match outcome and surprise complacent opponents.
  4. Getting too excited doesn't seem like a good excuse to me. Getting too excited would be saying "boom!" or "I'm the greatest!" out loud while you're playing, and it wouldn't bother anyone on the opposing team because they're not there in your house to hear it. When you make the decision to actually type the comment and then actually do so, those overt conscious acts take you out of the "too excited involuntary response" excuse. Such behavior is that of a poor sport and a jerk, in my opinion, unless you also compliment them when they crush you and make sure to offer such compliments at least once a match to those you are gloating over. Obviously, judging from the reaction here, a lot of people disapprove of your comments. You might want to think about that.
  5. I frequently get 4-5 top stats in games my team loses badly. This doesn't mean I am a top tier player losing unfairly and suffering rank loss as a result of no fault of mine or a bad ranking system. It means the other team is more balanced and strategic. It may mean the other players on my team are inexperienced and if so, I failed to do my job in communicating and leading them with sound strategy suggestions and encouragement. (and basically following Saerni's advice above). Getting a bunch of top stats when your team is solid and all players play well and you barely beat the other team in a well-fought match is an accomplishment.
