I had this issue because of Rivatuner too. Haven't been able to play the new content until I found this fix. Thanks for posting it. -

Can't launch the game at all here. Never experienced a crash previously in GW2 that I can recall. Yesterday and today (new files were downloaded by the launcher today) the client crashes as soon as I press "Play" on the launcher.
