  1. I main Engi and i agree with you, we need a new ranged Elite spec. Yet, what i had in mind for Engi isn't exactly a ranged spec, but something related to "Chemical Warfare", and since Engi doesn't have much of weapon variety, i thought of giving it Axes or Daggers on Main and Offhand and access to Dual Wield skills like Thieves! I think it would be really fun to play with, specially if the spec was focussed on being a Condi Support, having the dual effect of healing/boosting yourself and allies while applying condis the enemies nearby. Also, give it a nice interaction with the Dodge skill, making it unique like Daredevil and Mirage's dodges! Something like instead of dodge-rolling you release a mist of chemicals, evading attacks while applying condis to enemies nearby. You could even upgrade it with traits by making it apply regen to allies nearby, or apply more condis. There's a lot of possibilities and ideas you could make with a class like that.
  2. As a main Engi player, i can tell you that the Flamethrower Scrapper Open World build is kinda nice if you don't plan to do any competitive play or something else. It's super easy to play, works well and i think it's fun! Carrion Firebrand - Axe/Torch is also really good, but a little harder to get used to it.
  3. I do! Just finished Weapons and Armoury, but i'm still missing the acessories.Maybe that's why i feel like my damage is too low?
  4. I finally built a condi build for Engineer recently, and went to test it ASAP farming a bit on Bjora Marches using the flamethrower One thing i've noticed is that it wasn't causing as much burning damage as i thought it would with it's regular attack. It only applies 1 stack of Burn at the start of the attack, and another stack at the end, so i need to ask it here: It is bugged or working intentionally? If so, wouldn't it make more sense applying more stacks of Burn and relly more on condition damage?
  5. For Engineer i was thinking about Dagger on Main and Offhand, a mix between Condi DPS and Support with Cleanse/Heals. His mechanic could involve a ressource bar that would be consumed by his habilities, and his Toolbelt F5 i was thinking about something like: "Alchemical Mist" - Upon activation, creates a mist of Chemical Components arround yourself applying conditions to enemies and healing allies. The idea with this hability is that it interacts with other skill, either from Daggers as well from the other skills you'll unlock within the Spec, like some skills set the Mist in fire or even chill foes while the hability is active. Others could cleanse allies or apply buffs such as might, resistance or regen. The idea is while you have the Alchemical Mist active, you'll be a powerhouse until the ressource bar is depleted, something similar to holosmith.
  6. If you want a REALLY EASY Ranged DPS class to play with, i recomend you play as a Thief and go for Deadeye elite spec later in the game. Along with necromancer, this is one of the easiest classes to play in the game and deal really high damage with barelly no effort. Take a look, i bet you'll like it! And while you can't get it, thieves also have short bow and pistols as a weapons, so you can still play safe on Open World content! By the way, i've read you liked to play as Engi, and as an Engi main, i can asure you that it's a VERY versatile class! Give it a try on condition damage builds (burn, poison, bleed) using double pistols, and maybe the flamethrower too!
  7. I openned this topic just to see a coment like this, and i thought the same I always see western culture represented in games by mythicism involving either the divine, alchemy and medicine. My guess is not a "Plaguedoctor" class, but an ALCHEMIST itself, a class focussed on both Chemical Warfare and Medicine, being both a viable Healer Class + Condition Damage.
  8. Hello everyone! So, recently i've been looking for new builds both for Open World, PVE and WVW content, but as soon as i looked out for it, i discovered some stats combinations were PVP excluisves just like Avatar, Mender, Demolisher and Wizard. Is there any possibility those Prefixes are going to be available for content outside PVP at any time or they'll remain PVP exclusive? I would love to try these combinations some day: Hammer Scrapper + Demolisher Gear (Pwr, Prec, Tough, Fer)Staff/Sword+Shield Herald + Mender Gear (Pwr, Heal, Prec, Vit)Dagger+Dagger/Axe+Warhorn Spellbreaker + Avatar Gear (Pwr, Prec, Vit, Heal)
  9. Hello everyone! So, i started playing this game not so long ago, less than a year, and i'm really passionate about the game PVE content (specially LWS content), but i never did any fractals or even raids, only Dungeons to this moment.I've seen a lot of people talking about dificulty in raids, that for unprepared teams or unskilled players it would be too hard. I KNOW i'm not coming up with a completelly new or original idea, but i wanted to sugest an "Story Mode" for Raids, where you could do it with smaller and/or less skilled groups, or even alone just for it's story. I'm going to be honest and say i wouldn't care much about rewards, i just want to enjoy the Stories behind these raids and have some fun. I also think it would be great to learn boss mechanics and train new players onto raids, teaching boss paterns, "HP Thresholds Moves" and etc.
  10. I felt it was a bit "Rushed" to be really honest, and some points could've been worked better, but the Devs told that the episode would be intense, and things would escalate quickly. Yet, i still noticed some details, informations that the story did AND didn't threw into your face, like pieces of Bangar's dialog when he show's up and others are scattered arround the map in the form of notes/books (hunger for knowledge achievment), NPC dialogs and ETC. Things that i have in mind:1- Laranthir isn't part of the vigil anymore. He voluntarily left the Vigil and returned to the Grove. Almorra's Dead and now we're only left with Jhavi and Warmaster Efut, that never shown up too much in the game.2- IDK where's Gorrik, Taimi haven't shown up yet and both have the secret on how to deal with Jormag AND Primordus (LWS3).3- Aurene tells us Bangar is a part of a much larger web, and killing him won't solve anything. She also says that there's a reason why Jormag wants both of us alive, but she doesn't know why yet.4- Bangar, as soon as he kills the Whisper of Jormag, screams out loud "I am Jormag's champion. I alone can control the dragon." It implies that: He doesn't know how the connection between Champion and Dragon works; He's completelly mad and wishes for power above else;5- During the Meta Event on Drakkar's lair, Jormag speaks with you, telling you that Svanir wished for power, so he freely gave it to Svanir. As i said on the previous point, that Bangar wishes for power, probably he's going to be corrupted, sooner or later.6- Rox is mentioned by Braham on the prologue, though she haven't appeared yet. An important note is that she's living with the Olmakhan, which are directly conneceted to the Flame Legion.7- Ryland may not be under the influence of the Dragon, but he was obviously brainwashed by Bangar.8- Imperator Malice Swordshadow have been investigating the renegade's activity for a long time, even before the events on Bound by Blood, which implies that she knew they were up to something. NOTE: Ember Doomforge is Ash Legion, Almorra's granddaughter and is ALSO part of the Vigil.9- This is a BIG Elder Dragon problem now, so The Pact must show up sooner or later.10- Eir's bow isn't the only powerfull fire-enchanted weapon in the game: Sohothin still exists, and it's on Rytlocks possession.11- Magdaer is still out there, broken, but it was already found and recovered (Acalonian Catacombs story mode). What i think it'll happen next:1- Next episode is going to be focused on a Charr civil war (or the start of it). The legions will enter in internal conflict, and the Charr will be divided into those who support Bangar, and those who opose him and are loyal to their legions.2- It'll start to connect loose points of the story like: "why, when and how it all started", "what is that much larger web that Aurene talked about", "who's working along with Bangar?".3- Eir's bow is going to be destroyed.4- Another important figure is gonna die.
  11. I seriously loved that trait reworked until the "at least 450 distance from the target" part. This is a Power Engi Trait, and Power Engi Builds are mostly at MELEE range because of Holoforge COMPELLING you to become at melee Range. Engineer isn't a very popular class already, please for the sake of all Engis Mains who still out there: remove the Range limit of that trait.
  12. Hello everyone! So, with the new patch i'm trying to build the new Illuminated Boreal Weapons but i needed this new "Amalgamated Draconic Lodestone".According to the Official GW2 Wiki, you can create it on the Mystic Forge with: 10x Destroyer Lodestones10x Mordrem Lodestones10x Crystal Lodestones10x Corrupted LodestonesYet, when i put those on the Mystic Forge, it simply wont work. The mystic forge tells me i need 250 OF EACH instead of just 10.I'm doing something wrong or what?
  13. I voted "Yes", but tbh, why not let players decide between their favorite Character Select Screen? Like, idk if it's hard to implement such feature, but since the Devs changed it over the years, why not let the players choose which one they liked the most then?
  14. Despite having 6 characters, I can't play any other than my Engineer for too long because i get bored quickly. I simply love A LOT my Engi, love both Holosmith and Scrapper Elite Specs, it's just really fun to me. I find my Condibrand and my Condizerker also fun, but they feel clunky and weird, so i don't play 'em that much. I've also created a Revenant, a Thief and a Mesmer, but i found their gameplay to be really...Boring, but that's just my personal opinion. I don't have anybody to properly teach me how to play it, maybe that's why i don't like 'em too much.
  15. Since "Bound by Blood" launch we got a new emote /Rockout to the emote list, as well /shuffle, /step (which is my favorite) and /geargrind. However, you need to unlock 'em to use, but what about a new fun regular emote? A "/thumbsup" would be perfect, just imagine: Your Zerg captured a Keep in WvW?R: /thumbsupYour Guild just beat a hard boss in raids?R: /thumbsup for a guild photoTriple trouble, triple decap?R: /thumbsup "nice triple decap everybody"And many more situations!
  16. Hello! So, some days ago i went for some map completion with one of my characters and went for Hoelbrak. When i entered Stonewright's Steading instance i noticed that Hoelbreak still on Dragon Bash Festival. I couldn't go much further becase instance limitations, but you can still se some decorations, as well the HUGE Kralkatorrik's hologram. Took some screenshots of it today:
  17. Ayy, thanks! I was worried it would be a waste of time and resources. I play mainly as Holosmith, and i thought that Marauder Gear + the "Big Boomer" (Gives Vit and Fer based on Power) trait would give me tons of HP to help survive in most sutiations.
  18. Hello! I'm a relativelly new player, been playing for like 6 months now, and i started working on Svaard Ascended Gear (Power, Prec, Vit, Fer) but i wonder if it's worth it. I know that for DPS wise Berserker Gear is the optimal choice, but i want to have some fun too being tanky while dealing some damage. I thought Marauder stats looked pretty good for what i wanted, but i don't know if it's worth it for a bruiser build or there are better choices. Any tips?
  19. I've always felt that engineer played more like a melee character, so that's why i sugested this Shotgun-style skillset for rifle. Most of his hard hitting (bursty) abilities are at very close/melee range, and core engi, aside from kits, only have 2 weapons at all at his pool. Letting pistol be the condi long range while improving the close range bursty side of the rifle build i think would be fair. Maybe this could be really fun on PVP with Thumper Turret and the Bomb Kit i guess.
  20. Hematic Focus increases by 10% your crit chance if your target is bleeding, and since blunderbuss would be making it to slot 1, i guess they would also remove it's bleeding in addition to the damage balance. It made sense to me to add another bleeding skill to compensate for Blunderbuss and make sure that these changes didn't felt like a nerf to rifle and make it less reliable. Modified Ammunition increases your damage dealt by 2% for every condition your target have, and Flare Shot applying vulnerability + burning, as well Leg Shot applying cripple + bleeding would make a great offensive combo. My idea was a very aggressive skillset for Rifle that felt satisfying to use and thematically fun, but your idea is actually nice too!
  21. Hello everyone~ So i've been playing Guild Wars 2 for quite a while, and though i'm not a veteran player, nor an expert on both PVE and PVP content in the game, i'm having a lot of fun with this game. I enjoy A LOT playing as Engineer, and my favorite weapon is the Rifle, yet i do think it's skills seem a bit off, they doesn't have a good sinergy and could use some "love". Within the Firearms Specialization we have some traits like "High Caliber" and "No Scope", which are mainly focussed for Rifles, and they match pretty well when used together. What called my attention here is that the "Higher Caliber" trait works ONLY under a certain limit of range, and i'm not complaining about that, it's 15% more Crit Rate just for standing closer to your target than you should. "Okay okay, but where do you want to go with this thread?" Well, what about turning Engineer's rifle skills more into a Blunderbuss style? The closer he is, the more a threat he can be making his playstyle more aggressive in general? Maybe some, or maybe a lot, of people would disagree with me, but i really think that turning engi's rifle into a blunderbuss style skillset would be more fitting and even more fun. So, let me get started on my thoughts on Engineer Rifle Skills: 1. Remove "Hip Shot" and "Net shot", turn "Blunderbuss" the slot 1 skillI know it seems crazy because "Blunderbuss" can deal pretty good damage up in close range, but what if they lowered it's damage just to balance it? Mermer's Greatsword 1st skill, as well Ranger's long bow 1st skill, deal more damage based on how further the target is, so i guess it would be nice to have the opposite on Engineer's kit. But what about the Net shot? Well, i may be wrong, but i think it would be really hard to balance this skill with the rest of engi's kit. For PVE point of view, this skill would remain in the same spot, but on PVP point of view, with engineer being more a threat at closer ranges, unless your target dodges the Net Shot or has a cleanse available, facing 2 seconds of immobilize against someone who would Jump Shot into your face and burst you down would feel pretty annoying...That's what i think so. 2. New Skills: Flare Shot and Leg ShotSince Hip Shot and Net Shot would be removed, as well blunderbuss would make it to slot 1, what about slots 2 and 3? I thought about 2 skill ideas that would fit into those spots: Flare Shot: Fire a flare at your foe, burning the target. After a brief delay, the flare explodes, inflicting vulnerability to the target and burning foes arround it.Leg Shot: Shot your foe in the leg, inflicting bleeding and cripple your target.Lemme know what ya'll think of those ideas and thoughts i had, i love to discuss those kind of stuff! And again: I'm no veteran into the game, if i said/sugested something bad or ineffective, correct me! I'd love to learn more <3
