  1. I'll notice these a lot just small snippets of two songs that have the same note progression but at just different songs entirely. Just the intro to "To the Edge" and the 1:10 guitar riff on "a.m.3:21"
  2. I get to listen to the often pretty chill soundtrack and catch legendary weapons.
  3. Emersion is kind of out the window when someone with 10 infusions walks buy and sends me to the optometrist. But I understand your concern.
  4. Okay that's fair yes legendary armor is a very nice thing to have it makes build experimentation quick and easy, Doing different things in OW is a valid reason to change your stats. I feel like strikes and dungeons do kinda fall into this "exclusive to groups and instanced only content" but strikes give you resources for ascended armor and give the opportunity to get resources for legendary armor. If we are talking about getting legendary items for open world content. The trinkets are there, I feel like its justifiable to have content locked behind game modes. If you don't play the game you don't get the reward of playing the game.
  5. keeping it short if anet wants to balance their game which is designed around and makes use of modern server technology to allow for skill expression through high apm skill combos and fast reactions but also want to create classes or specs that are accessible, then they need to set a few base lines before they push into balance. Personally I think the community feedback they use is a pretty good start and using community resources as a tool is pretty smart. What should a support be able to do? What do high skill dps numbers look like? What should a jack of all trades spec be capable of? How do we make an accessible class that doesn't steamroll the meta?
  6. If you ask me mech is the only spec in this game that should have this skill. The signets on mech are overloaded to make up for the massive utility loss of gutting toolbelts from engi to give them a pet. It's extremely over tuned and hell it doesn't even need to be engi has plenty-o cleanse, self and ally. Right now I honestly don't play mech outside of heal alac mech and personally I think mech is in pretty good place dps and support wise. It's honestly still kinda oppressive in the support meta, being an extremely providing insane, alac, might, protection and properly timed aegis with good enough raw numbers to have gear space to tank heal or do damage. hell you could even nerf it.
  7. what do you want legendary armor for? If you don't like raids, and don't like WvW then you can sit steady on exotics. Judgement free, free of the expectations of any sort of group on your ability to do damage and be flexible.
  8. an unfortunate aspect of having story lines tied to the characters race and an multi character dependent design is that these changes are very unlikely due to the amount of resources anet would have to pour in to make them happen. It would be nice if I could race, or class swap a few but I'm not exactly holding my breath for it.
  9. why not just nerf the dps, it will encourage players to play engi's other two specs or even maybe condi mech which does have a decently high skill floor. Of course don't nerf it too much players with carpel tunnel, arthritis, or other preventative issues still deserve to play the game.
  10. I HOPE YOU LIKE GREEEN HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNN
  11. ENGI BAYBEEE. class versatility is what its all about. On top of that Holo is flashy as all get out and I'm all about having like 40 buttons.
  12. I like arc because it helps me measure my personal improvement. Better rotations, less mechanics failed, watching back fights to see what happened. I used FFLogs in 14 for the same reason. I'm not some great meta arbiter I just like improving at the game.
  13. Yeah I'm not gonna lie there's no way they weren't going to tune back up power classes eventually.
  14. yum yum yum, I love blind outrage that revolves around gatekeeping a game. You like good games and good games are hard games but you like this game so this game must be a good game and good games are hard games so GW2 must be a hard game because you like GW2 and there for GW2 is a good game and good games are hard so GW2 must have been at some point a hard game round and round until you figure out that you're just protective of any change made to your precious game.
  15. It's good to see some love being put back into power classes after they lost a lot of their damage with the decimation of unique buffs. Keep At it.
  16. I really like Holosmith and Scrapper. Hell, I even like mech. I just wish I could play Holosmith in raids without feeling like a liability
  17. Ahh, finally found the Holo cope thread. Home sweet home.
  18. These changes are rather extreme. The complete gutting of class unique buffs to bolster boons when most of party variety and class identity comes from these unique buffs and class aspects. I know I'm late to the party but even as an engi main , a class that is undoubtedly getting "spoiled", I don't really like mech I much prefer scrapper and holo using my kits, playing scrapper going fast being a buff machine. I don't really like the pet game play, and that's fine, but I don't want it to be the objectively best way to play the class. Pin point was a great thing to just slap on and help your raid group out, now it's just kinda, (pin)pointless.
  19. GW2 has a pretty unique scenario going on. People have legendary gear making gearing a character not a problem for many. On leveling, people already have characters leveled for classes they already play. 250 hero points is all that stands between them and the new spec, and people who were planning on playing it had them stocked up before the expansion dropped. Many E Spec's are fairly readable as well, on top of understanding the core class itself, learning a functional, or even optimal way to play an E Spec could take as little as 30 minutes. That said I am not a supporter of how anet handled Catalyst. The specifics of the Catalyst buffs and nerf didn't effect me because I was simply ready to accept that the constant element swapping and hammer three upkeep was (until recently) too much for me. However watching it's damage get slashed IN HALF while other E specs like Scrapper, Firebrand, Mechanist, and Specter still held their titles as major supports while keeping their extreme damage (Firebrand, Mechanist, Specter) or insane utility (Scrapper) was a punch to the gut. I feel like if anet wants to do balance changes on a regular basis they will really have to deeply understand the meta that forms for each spec in each area of their game. Breaking it down simply PvP WvW and PvE might all need different versions balance for all specs. With 27 E specs and 3 game types their new balance team might be going through some growing pains.
