  1. Tengu is probably the most likely candidate. Dagda is a Jotun, not an orc. And there is no orcs in Guild Wars 2. Closest we got is the Jotun and they're.....not orcs. They're largely dead and primitive, and hostile to just about everyone. Dagda being the only one that isn't due to her immortality and was from a time before they warred on each other and resulting fall. Same with most other 'minor' races. The only ones that really took the world stage is the Tengu, and the Ogre's. Most other minor races just....don't have anything on them really. Orc's barely have a history. Tengu is really the only logical option and I wish they would just add them. I keep seeing people stating "it takes time to backport everything previously made for others." And?! You can release those over time in chunks. For the story? You don't have to start in 1325, and if you did it would not be unreasonable to have the player start from the Dominion of Winds in some capacity. Maybe the commander was kicked out and had to make a living for themselves. Maybe we just get a small tidbit of the place. There's so much you can do. That's my take on it. Granted Anet has a lot of other things they need to focus on too, but in all honesty......there's nothing wrong with adding a 6th playable race.
  2. DPS. It sort of needs it. Dodging is sort of their class mechanic.
  3. It never needed additional boon duration to maintain uptime. The fact it needs some actual ritualist pieces now is a good thing.
  4. You've been living under a rock for saying this lmao. They aren't dead, they're more in-line of what they should be. I'm pretty sure a mirage taking a few Ritualist pieces for once instead of straight Viper's is going to be ok. CFB does not need to be doing around 37.2k DPS on a relatively simple rotation, and Untamed is going to be just fine.
  5. It needed a nerfing to the ground for what it was doing. It's going to be fine.
  6. Have you been living under a rock? Firebrand is insanely broken right now. Quickness Condi FB does more DPS than a solid chunk of some dedicated DPS builds while giving insane boons and utility, and 100% uptime on Quickness. It does 37.2k on latest bench, though I'm sure someone seen it do higher. That's unacceptable for a boon build. That's waaay to much. Mesmer needed the mirage nerf. Staxe be stupidly good on some fights without needing to take a single bit of boon duration for alacrity. The rest were buffs. What was your point here?
  7. Then you aren't playing it correctly. Staff/Staff Mirage does not need any boon duration to upkeep 100% Alacrity. In-fact, it goes well beyond 100% uptime. This nerf changes little but may require some ritualists pieces. That's it. It was to mainly target Staff/Axe Mirage, which could also do over 100% Alac uptime and do very heavy DPS.

  9. Guess raids are dead content. It's *very clear* the intent now. Strikes ARE NOT raids. I'm sorry, they're not. They're yawn content with bosses that we *already did* in the main/living world story (name one example we did not, boneskinner was covered in open world), sometimes with the same mechanics, just now balanced for 10-man content (which is literally just two fractal comps put together). And the CM's are usually just the same things but now with a timer, with some exceptions. If I wanted to re-fight a boss from the main story, I'll just go and use the existing replay features of the story content you provided (which I appreciate by the way! it's a sensible implementation). This is a rather lazy approach to satisfy raid and high-end PvE content players. If they were actually new, unique encounters with actual background of what we're doing (aka a story which raids provided) and new mechanics and things to do, then I'd be singing a different tune. Fractals aren't the same either to satisfy that. And slapping the new mechanics and all that into a Challenge Mode is not a good solution either. It just become prohibitive content. Raids had a certain difficulty tier that made them challenging, but not so prohibitive you might as well not bother unless you have a certain kind of players for your comp and have to play very particular classes to satisfy said requirements. I do not see these with strikes by any means. Also that pricing model....yikes. This screams just increased monetization, which I suppose is a good thing as long as the health of the game is *actually improved*.
  10. While this addresses many problems, it doesn't address the major one for Catalyst: how it applies boons due to the Jade Sphere nerf. They rely on wells, which is fine except for two things. 1. They are still fairly small, on par with Chronomancer. However Chronomancer has other ways to generate boons, which makes it less awful. If the wells radius could be larger I think it would feel better. Because 15 seconds after one well is a fairly large chunk of time of being unable to do literally nothing. 2. No energy on start? Like Druid, it would be nice to begin encounters with full energy so boon application can be provided immediately. Overall good changes IMO, but the two above gripes I think would really cement it. Also.....other quickness applicators were in no danger. The amount of utility Firebrand and Harbinger provides.....Catalyst simply can't outdo it.
  11. Fort Aspenwood in Echovald requires the use of them as well for most of the entire encounter. Fort Aspenwood in Echovald and Drizzlewood Coast are two use cases of this. I am very sure they are going to add more in the future. I've found other uses for the thing such as transporting friends through dangerous stuff in game being significantly easier.
  12. NCSoft is a lot of the problem with Anets problem as it is lmao. They aren't going to do anything about it.
  13. Have anyone that criticizes our "whining" seen Firebrand? Harbinger? Scrapper? Catalyst went from a viable support build to being literally worse than Chronomancer in a single update. They didn't nerf boon support Catalyst. They effectively killed it and its viability. There is literally no reason to run Quickness Catalyst now. None. It'd be better to take Chronomancer over it now, and there's three other classes that do this FAR better now and bring far more to the table while also causing more DPS than both Chronomancer and Catalyst. None of what was said above is an exaggeration. These are literal facts in terms of what each of these classes bring to the table in any encounter. Firebrand Quickness: Literally provides easy access to nearly every boon in the game, high sustain, very high DPS. Rotation basically doesn't exist and whatever rotation that does exist is extremely simple and easy to do, even in realistic scenarios. There is literally no downsides to running this class, besides low vitality pool which is nearly moot due to high sustain. Harbinger: While low amount of boons, it has very high DPS, easy quickness with almost 0 downsides. Build is similar to how Firebrand sets theirs up. Scrapper: Insane levels of utility on top of fair damage and easy quickness centered on themselves. Their sustain is unmatched. Boons for days, easy utility with everything else. Now Catalyst? Yeah it benched 33k-ish. BUT it also had a fair amount of downsides that are now PAINFULLY obvious. 1. The wells were wherever you placed them. Cool. The moment the group needed to move for anything, they don't get anything. And now with the current "balance", it's up to 14 seconds of *nothing* because of the Jade Sphere nerf. You need quickness? Sorry buddy, gotta wait for my CD's because we had to walk to escape a mechanic. Extra might? Nope. 2. Getting that actual DPS benched in a unrealistic scenario was near impossible already, and definitely impossible in any realistic scenarios. Its rotation is rather hard. Sure stacking catas could've been nerfed, but there was far more graceful ways of doing this. Such as either nerfing specific abilities, and the floating orbs hammer (3 skill) to only hit in certain ways. Jade Sphere did not need to be touched. DPS nerf I could completely see needing to be toned down, but the Jade Sphere was not necessary. Elementalist *finally* had some actual f***ing diversity we've been asking for literal years. It has four attunements, very high potential of diversity of gameplay styles, but because of how things are, it almost never used it in any instanced content. Open world....no one gives a kitten. Why take Heal Tempest when Druid exists and does the same thing but better, on top of better types of CC access for example? You go into raid or strike groups and you NEVER see Heal Tempest being asked for. There's a reason for this. We finally got a support role rather than being relegated to just pure DPS (which they nerfed into the ground unnecessarily too), even though it was hard as hell to achieve. And they just killed it in two weeks, bringing it back to what it was in beta, which NO ONE liked. There was a reason everyone complained about Catalyst during beta. Anet does not play the things they create in the content these types of roles are meant for to test for edge cases. They don't. If they did, these nerfs wouldn't be happening. Anyone saying otherwise is lying through their kitten teeth. They really need to ask their community to get actual feedback, which to be fair some of it will be biased, but they can easily find other solutions through ideas from other people. For those don't read. Tl;dr Their DPS nerf put DPS Catalyst to being weaker than Power Reaper. That's not the issue in the first place though. It's how hard it is to achieve very high levels of DPS in real scenarios, and now there's no reward for good gameplay. Their Jade Sphere nerf killed: Healing Quickness Catalyst and Quickness Catalyst in any instanced content. It is now effectively worse than the position Chronomancer is in. I'm an elementalist main, and they are REALLY driving me and the many others who actually love this class to just never use it again. Many ele mains I've known quit this class because of things like this.
  14. No. We actually were happy the way things were. And you're missing the point.
