  1. I know this might be funny and a tad extreme, but this was kind of a last-straw piece of information for me. On top of a few other things, it made me drop the game for a year. Was kind of like getting punched in the dick after 'alliances' had been baited for 2+ years. I will drop in from time to time, but I think Anet is done obtaining my money.
  2. False scarcity RNG with transferable real money currency is G A M B L I N G. I don't care what your legal definitions are. It activates the same damn dopamine center of the brain to addict you to chasing an eternal fake goal in the attempts that you swipe your card for the high you were seeking. This is because, if you were to take away all rare RNG content, the new content sucks. Anet has done this mildly before, but now they are straight up milking the last of a dying cow. I'm going to laugh so hard as lawmakers eventually shut down the ESA and force you to disclose drop-rates and all your tactics @anet. Also, to anyone supporting this as a legitimate game mechanic, you are a detriment to the industry right now. You are the reason everyone suffers. Try taking a gamble on Russian roulette and do us all a favor.
  3. Thanks for mentioning wvw. All non-NA timezones are almost completely collapsed. A few stable servers reap all the power and fun while zombieland servers suffer. My guild is literally hanging out in discord as friends until we can find another game. There is so little focus put into wvw, but tbh it's never been priority like pve. It has the potential, and always did, to be such a better mode if they listened to veteran players. Matchmaking and map cap sizes need a real fix and now. It's simply not realistic to expect 12 servers to even field organized 70-80 ppl blobs 24/7 anymore (not that it was ever fun like that). The game sees its better group play in 10v10 to 20v20. Bring the map population cap down to 50 per map and for god sakes, at least delete two tiers, make transfers free each month, or implement alliances. DO SOMETHING.
  4. Problem with ocx players, is they don't spread themselves out more to fight each other. They hard-bandwagon to like 1-2 servers at best. I guess if you just like to ppt and not fight anyone though, no ocx is bad. Entire dead maps exist in the timezone for the taking.
  5. Server balance is really hurting/killing the game mode of wvw right now. It's no surprise to us vets that play it non-stop. 75 people limits per map size is far too big these days. The pessimist in me really wonders if anet just likes the income from gem transfers or if they genuinely want to finish this proper matchmaking system that was mentioned? Will alliances be prioritized before the mode fully flat-lines? I still root for it to succeed, but can't help but feel all my financial support of this game only goes into PvE.
  6. Man I can't speak for sea, but all the ocx has moved to FA and kaineng. These players utterly depress and bore me. And I've had to do the same just because ocx is virtually dead in all other places. Our ocx community used to spread out and have fun on the other servers but bandwagoning has killed it. No one in ocx wants challenges. I honestly don't think alliances could make ocx any worse than it already is.
  7. ummm anet this is like my dream scenario, please do this, PLEASE!!!!!
  8. Apologies, I've never had to use the forums all that much so I'm still learning the culture and policies on how anet runs them. Let me start with my solution to this problem: Every week, have a different specific mount in the store along with your stable contract (if you really want to keep it). It looks like you are already doing this, correct me if wrong anet? I'll simply say I think the RNG elements of the new mounts is a bad direction, one that I see to greater extents from companies I no longer support. Anet has always stood above this by having fairly honest straightforward purchases for cosmetics and convenience. I have gladly put 100s of dollars over the years because I respect this. In fact I regularly cite GW2 as one of the few companies to handle a no-subscription transaction store well. Please maintain your integrity anet. Sincerely,Tom
  9. Okay okay, I know we are having some serious feels here, but gotta add some humor, just a wee bit.
  10. but guys, 'it's just cosmetic!' :) yea I think a lot of people forgot their relative deprivation from ages ago and seem to justify this by saying 'well, it's so much worse in other games,' as if that is supposed to pacify us. See that guy over there punches you a lot harder, but this guy only punches you softly and a little bit. Be thankful you aren't punched from that other guy!
  11. What MMO are we talking about? Allods Online full P2W or WoW? Or maybe old school UO? Lol, he probably means star wars battlefront 2
  12. It is true, but by the very token, I spent a lot on this game because I like the company and the more honest business practices they used to implement. I have to imagine losing that loyalty revenue is really going to hurt. But maybe I'm just being wishful. Might be time to call JimSterlingSon
  13. I will be okay with this if they offer sales for specific ones on a frequent basis. If not, I cannot support RNG on this level. This is the very thing I stand against with EA, Activision, and WB Games.
  14. possible spoilers Where does the commander get their power from? Heroic deeds, peaked strength, and even plausible magical energies can go into making this character strong, but taking on elder dragons and gods now? Zhaitan, you had a mass airship armada, and mordremoth you cheated a physical fight by entering the dragon's mind. This time around in PoF you accomplish some fairly unimaginable feats, even for this fantasy realm. Is there any lore or explanation for how the commander is able to become this beast of power that can overthrow a god whilst fighing an elder dragon? It would help my suspension of disbelief if there was at least something.
