  1. It doesn't matter how many times you buff shades for Scourges, the player not being considered a shade limits what the class can do in every aspect of the game. No other class has to jump through so many hoops just to access their offensive/defensive potential. Imagine if banners/druid spirits had a circular range of 300 and you only got those buffs if you're standing on top of them. Before you do any more changes to shades you need to revert the last nerf and go from there.
  2. As others have said I really don't understand the shade change. We're the only profession who has to choose if we want to be strong at range or strong at melee, while being weaker to one of those as a trade off. No other profession has restrictions like this. This also makes for yet another clunky mechanic being attached to Scourge. If shades are such a problem I would rather see something else, not making the class horrible to play. Also lets not forget Scourge F1 abilities already have a invisible 0.25 cast time. Now we have to dance on our shades AND have a cast time on those abilities. I always welcome balance changes but you're about to make Scourge one of he most unfun, frustrating classes to play and its not because of nerfs, just horrible restrictions being added.
  3. Why is Pyrotorrick not headbanging while fighting us? He might be a monster but he can bang out to the music while trying to murder us.
  4. The big issue with a lot of these changes is it doesn't address the core problem in WvW: Buffs/Healing. Sure, Necro might deserve some nerfs but its one of the only classes that can peel buffs fairly often. But even then it doesn't matter. When you have 2-3 firebrands who can spam buffs/heals nonstop and never fear anything, that's the real issue in WvW. I think buffs need to be given a hard look at. In the time it takes a Necro to peel buffs they can be re-applied 5 times over. I think overall CDs in WvW need to be increased. Mobility skills for example are a huge issue. They should be used to: Either get in the battle fast or to run away. Being able to use them multiple times in a fight/skirmish is a problem. Then you add in the imbalance of some professions having no access to them and its a unbalanced playing field. Looking at whats proposed here it will only re-inforce the dominance of firebrand ball squads rolling over everyone. Once you gut Necro and no one plays them that's even less Boon Strip in the mode.
  5. I've played since the beta weekends and been here through all the fun times and bumps Arena Net have had. Even now during these trying times I see so many issues with the game and so many easy fixes. I have a whole slew of suggestions and was surprised/not surprised to see the suggestion forums were archived and closed 3 years ago. So lets begin this journey, shall we? Gem ShopThere are two massive items missing from the gem shop that are expected norms in MMOs: Race Change, Class/Job Change. I've heard the argument that its impossible to add these cause of personal story/spaghetti code but I say that isn't good enough. These two items could easily be sold at $12-15 per and it would be a automated process. That is a obscene amount of money and for Anet to leave it on the floor I think its completely insane. If the code can't make it work then you create new code and transition your systems over to it so it can support it. I know a ton of players who would easily pay those prices(rather than pay 400-500g) to fix their past mistakes rather than start over. When you can sell gem shop items at 1/3 or 2/3 the price of a expansion and players think its fair I think its something you make work.In-game RewardsThis is a hot topic for every single player and to me its a pretty easy fix. A lot of players want content and Anet don't realize they have a ton of it just sitting there but don't utilize it. Glider/Mount/Town Clothes/Dyes/Etc. There are a ton of these items in the game and yet almost all of them are locked behind the gem store. I understand the game is free to play and they have to make money but take <1% of skins from the gem shop and let players earn them in-game and it would go a long way to player retention. Halloween and Wintersday both have themed mount skin packs. Imagine if they added all these skins to the festival vendors and you could purchase (1) mount skin of your choice per year and it would cost festival currency. They could price them around 50-100g in festival materials. Players who want the skins can either buy them from the gem shop as a pack or slowly earn them each year. Adding just a couple gem store items to each event will add so much good will toward players and make them feel like they're actually earning something worthwhile. ContentWith each content patch we get a new map and a new LS and this formula has worked but I think its time to change it. Anet decided to cut dungeons because they deemed them too much work and that's how I view the LS. They spend months working on the story(which is amazing) but lets look at it. They create new zones, voice acting, animations specific to the LS, unique fights and we do them once, maybe twice and never go back. If they could turn most of these into dungeons with rewards that would be a crazy amount of content and not much work needed. I just think its a waste of time to spend so much work on areas we have no reason to ever go back to. The game needs more worthwhile repeatable content. I know Anet hates looking at other MMOs for inspiration but I think its time they do it more. They already added raids and mounts and I think they need to continue with that aspect. We have the Queens Gauntlet and I think the game could benefit from a permanent version of this(similar to WoWs Brawlers Guild). They could create new fights or add the old ones re-balance them to make them much more challenging and add unique skins/titles for players who devote the time to rise in the ranks. Raids pt 1. For ages players demand more raids and players demand less raids as they say the raiding population is tiny. To me its a easy fix: Have a 5 and 10 man version. Players have thrown out add a story mode and I think that is a waste of time. It would be another thing players do once and never do again. With a 5 man mode it would be challenging but its a lot more accessible for more players. I would increase the rewards for 10 man(getting 10 players is harder) and give 5 man the old 10 man rewards. Whether you think it or not, raids need to change. We need to open them up to more players and get them flourishing. Raids pt 2. When HoT announced raids I rejoiced as I figured Anet would innovate and continue their trend with challenging open world content(By this point we had Marionette, Scarlet Airship, Watchwork Knights, TT). When t hey announced they would be 10 man content I lost all excitement. Guild Wars 2 at its core is all about open world. Its about coming together with other players to overcome something. I think they should double down and add Open World Raid Bosses. They would be similar to the other bosses I listed but would require more coordination and execution. They would have unique loot once per week. They spawn every 8 hours a day to give most time zones a window to try the fight per day. I think the game needs more challenging content and forcing the community to together to tackle something challenging is something desperately needed. The only trick is the rewards have to be truly amazing so that players want to attempt it and do it for a long period. Playing Housing. To me this is something simple but has all the potential in the world. Create a new zone with different house types we can pick from and it becomes our home. The game already has a ton of decorations for guilds they could bring over to player housing and let us unlock by playing the game. Port over all our account unlocks from our Home Instance but take it a step further. To me if you create something brand new you need to think of how you can monetize it, as the name of the game is to make money but that doesn't mean its bad for players. They could create specific "themes" for houses they could sell in the gem shop. Want a Halloween themed house? Buy this Halloween decoration pack for 800 gems. Want it to snow nonstop at your house? Buy this Wintersday pack. The sky is literally the limit in terms of player choice and revenue for Anet They could event add unique decoration pieces to each festival we could earn from playing the event. Having more reasons to play longer is always a good thing and we need more of that. Bonus Events pt 1. I like the way bonus events have been shaping up(Killing multi map has mellowed out the community so much, thanks for that Anet) but I think they can be improved. I think the Meta Rush is in a great spot but both events have a few issues. The current World Boss Rush gives 1-2-3 bonus boxes depending on how many events need to be completed and I think these should be increased by 1. It doesn't seem big but I think it will go a long way so players think they're earning a good amount from the event. It also puts that event more in-line with the amount awarded from the Meta Rush which is 4-5-6. Bonus Events pt 2. My final idea is to completely change/revamp the Super Rare section of the Bonus Box. Currently the main prize of the boxes are the ultra rare infusions. I do think these should be the ultimate prize but I think they should be account bound. By making that change you can increase their drop rate and players gain a realistic shot at obtaining something ultra rare. It won't mess with the original versions and they will keep their value. You would see more players during these events that might not be playing as the event gives a decent shot at something amazing. When I saw early footage of this game I knew it was something amazing. It pains me to see it fall so short of its potential in so many areas. A lot of these things are easy fixes and some are lofty goals. I just want to see the game I love reach its potential and become financially successful for years to come. It pains me to see them miss out on so much free money that could help the game grow.
  6. Lets look at the buff: It gives 50% Participation, 20% MF, 25% WXP, no armor damage on death and no war score for enemy. Overall this buff makes no sense. Some are those decent but the rest serve no purpose. What is MF and WXP gonna do when you can't fight back or take anything? Outnumbered should become what I always view it as: A way to fight back. If you're truly outnumbered you won't win. If the enemy has 60 and you have 15 you just cant win, but if the buff gave offense and defense buffs then at least you can do something. It should give something like 100% flat damage and like 75% damage reduction. If outnumbered was like this then low populated servers could at least fight back. As I sit here and type this my server is being spawn camped and we're unable to do anything because the 15 of us can't fight their 30+ here. If outnumbered gave some form of damage increase/damage reduction then we could at least push in and fight. I know Anet lacks the resources to do sweeping changes but changing the values on a buff has to be easy and its desperately needed.
  7. The event is designed so that you can kill as many bosses as you want for as many bonus boxes as you want. Calling it "multi-loot" is a misunderstanding of what the "multi-loot" bug was. This requires (if it doesn't we will fix it) that you have participated and are present for the finalization of the boss event to get bonus loot. Its really depressing as a player that a dev thinks swapping maps to get loot multiple times from a boss/meta isn't abuse within the game. It might not be on par with AB MM abuse since all you had to do is show up for loot but its still bad. It also promotes that this is how bosses should be handled and teaches players bad habits. We have so many new players and this will be their first experience with events/bosses and all they will learn is how to abuse game mechanics with multi mapping. These events are meant to be a Bonus but currently Anet is just making another 24/7 farm.
  8. Yep, this will 100% happen. During these events these will become the new "24/7 farms". That is something no game should shrive to do. If the bosses are worth doing there will always be someone doing it at any hour. I assume this is referring to the Meta Boss Rush that will be happening a few weeks after the World Boss event. The infusions have a insanely low drop rate so these special bonus events won't even put a dent in them. The only thing it will do is force players to do those events 24/7 to maximize their chances. This has happened so many times. Auric Basin Multi map abuse, Istan Meta/Champ farm abuse, SW, etc. If something is too good players will flock to it and do it as much as they can and nothing else. And this is where I don't get it. A easy fix to all of this would be to double/triple the loot of World Bosses/Meta Bosses and keep the cap. That way players can do them once a day and go back to other content. They're not forced to do those events 24/7 until the event ends to maximize their rewards. It takes away the players choice in the game. Add in you're going to see a ton of players try to abuse World Bosses/Meta with multi map squads. It pains me but during these events we're going to see the worst of the community come out.
  9. I don't see this as a negative as you seem to. When you remove the cap you're incentivizing players to only do those events multiple times a day(thus strangling other events/metas of players) else they miss out on rewards. Fractals, WvW, sPVP, all of them will suffer while this is going on. It also promotes multi map abuse which I assume you're against since you've altered metas so it can't be done with them. Why not just double/triple the amount of loot so we only have to do them once and not have to worry about doing it 5 more times in the day? The once a day loot system is very nice as you can move on and do other things. This is a step backwards in giving us the power to pick and choose what we want to do. There will be more than enough players for every boss/meta at any hour, we don't need the cap removed to get enough players. It only promotes abuse and the community going at each other for how they want to handle the boss/events.
  10. I'm all for these bonus events but I entirely disagree with daily cap removal of boss loot. All it does is promote a unhealthy game environment and this will be compounded with the marketing Anet is doing. We have a lot of new players and this will be how new players see how events/bosses should be done, which is a huge mistake. Just a lot of zerging them every time they spawn and using multi map to abuse game mechanics and gain more loot than intended. Then you add in the game is meant to be about us and how we want to play. With events like this were forced to do them nonstop or you miss out, which is why the daily cap is something I think should be expanded to everything. Expanding it to everything lets the player choose what they want to do and not forced they have to do X or Y else they miss out. These events remind me of the "Mordremoth's Minions Invade Tyria" event which was disastrous and even Anet knew they messed up. Essentially if you didn't show up for every event which happened every hour you would miss out on blooms(which you spent on items at a vendor). Currently these two bonus events are set up exactly like that and its why this is already flawed. If you can't show up for every single one you're missing out and it will burn some players in more ways than one. Rather than "removing the daily cap" for boss loot during these events why not just double the amount of loot gained while keeping the once a day cap? That way we only have to do them once and it lets ut feel like were not missing out if we don't do every boss multiple times a day. This also prevents abuse with multimaps which will happen on every boss possible. Any and every event you create you have to assume it will be abused/exploited by either a champ farm, multi map or just farming trash. I love this game and community but it continually pains me to see the same mistakes happen for every event/meta. Its time to break the cycle and actually learn from the past.
