This. My first and only Strike was for the turtle. Failed a few times, but we got it eventually with a bunch of player corpses lying around.

Easiest class for story missions?
Xelqypla.6817 replied to Bronze Centipede.5230's topic in Players Helping Players
Necromancer is fairly survivable in core and every Espec. -
ANet. Will you please hire some new armor designers.
Xelqypla.6817 replied to chripsy.1027's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Since we are nit picking, he said skins, not complete armor sets of a specific weight class. Many skins I'll think "who would wear such an ugly..." then eventually come around to finding a decent look for it. -

I've seen a few people run parts of that set with foot and hand wraps with a bandana. What's the issue? -
Seriously, it's time to hand us the Skyscale
Xelqypla.6817 replied to lezbefriends.7516's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
I only got Skyscale after Turtle. Prior to that, I simply followed along with Raptor, Springer, and Glider. Borrowed the Rent-a-scales in Dragonfall. It became even easier with the Jade Bot Glider Boost. Never felt the need for Skyscale, so I didn't bother. Only reason I have it and Griffon now is because I finally decided to get all the mounts. -
Many of us have level 80 Guardians and Necromancers as nothing more than character select decorations. I really love how my Guardian looks, but even Willbender feels like rigor mortis after playing Thief. I could play the "Meta" classes but my skill isn't meta level anyway. Warrior definitely needs love though. It's far too bland to even be called the ugly duckling of Anet.

Since you get the Living World for free if you log in while it's current and you can covert Gold to Gems, what did you spend $1800 on?

Use whatever you get while leveling and fill in the gaps with the TP. Crafted gear has its own set of skins. Crafting gear gives you decent amounts of exp. Breaking the gear for research notes. In all honesty though, if I were to make a new character for whatever reason, I'd just burn one of the many Experience Scrolls/Tomes of Knowledge to hit 80 and buy Exotics.

WoW had flying mounts in their first expansion. I have Skyscale and don't care if they make it easier to get. Just as long as the reasoning for doing so is better than "Well Blizzard..."- 149 replies

ESO is so much worse. Notable NPCs are captured or dead, but show up like there's nothing amiss. Not hard to do quests out of order which ends up very confusing.

What Glyphs Should I Get?
Xelqypla.6817 replied to Bronze Centipede.5230's topic in Players Helping Players
Crucible would have the best chance of making money if you are rolling around level 80 areas. -
How is Elder Scrolls Online any different? Though the main difference is GW2 is far more complex. Including a mount in ESO and including a mount in GW2 are two different ballgames. However, someone new to the game has no way of understanding it unless the research and if they were researching anyway, the whole point of "more communication" becomes moot.

You can't access LWS1, but the gripe is ALWAYS about the other ones you can buy. Makes me believe it's not about the story at all.

Why use Skyscale if I have the Raptor and Springer?
Xelqypla.6817 replied to SamuelW.2685's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Just do a little bit of Skyscale at a time. Heck, use the first few scavenger hunts across Dragonfall as your way of getting used to Griffon flight. You gotta get used to Griffon anyway and this is a productive way to do it. Suddenly, you have a portion of Skyscale done. -
Griffon before Skyscale?
Xelqypla.6817 replied to Bronze Centipede.5230's topic in Players Helping Players
I got Skyscale before Griffon. I only remember collection after collection after collection, then got tired of all the jumping puzzles and bought treats to skip them. There is only 1 group content required for Skyscale, iirc. Other group content had a way to skip it. Griffon takes far less time, far more money, and requires more group content. Skyscale definitely helped with getting the Griffon. -
I think people are missing the forest for the trees. You may not like the balance changes, but the classes are definitely diverse. A mechanist may revolve around a pet, but it's never going to feel like Ranger. A Specter may use shroud, but it's definitely not a Necromancer. Warrior may have gotten an Elite spec of some sort, but it's never going to be loved by Anet. Things like that.

Why do you die in battle? Difficulty or...
Xelqypla.6817 replied to Radagast.9403's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Usually die to uninvited extras. Some enemy types turn a simple combat into a grueling ordeal. -
Healer. Druid in classic, Priest in whatever expansion when mana efficiency was the priority. Cata maybe? I generally play support. Yes, there were mechanics, even the DPS had to deal with them. But they were fairly simple. Compare it with the Kaineng Strike. Boss, 3 enemies, Boss, 2 Enemies, Boss. Each enemy has their own mechanics that overlap while the boss gains a new one each phase. Avoid this circle, stand in this circle, dodge this attack, eat this minor damage attack, move to the back, spread out, come together, put your left foot in and shake it all about. I don't enjo

I find boss mechanics to be a chore. Classic WoW's dungeons and raids were fun. Not much going on. Basically tank and spank. You could watch the fight unfold. Can't do that anymore. Everything needs to have various game mechanics. It feels like I am fighting the game, not the boss.

Fastest way to farm Ascended gear ?
Xelqypla.6817 replied to Baby Goth.4983's topic in Players Helping Players
Weapon or Armor? Craft it. Accessories? Living World 3,4, and Icebrood has various choices, or Laurels if you have them. By the time you "need" exotics, you probably have them. -
Boosting and alts are bad.
Xelqypla.6817 replied to paShadoWn.5723's topic in Players Helping Players
Core is too simple to prepare you for anything after. Since auto attack is generally all you need, the rest of the skills, builds, and class mechanics seem more like flavor buttons than anything to really think about. Probably only a handful of enemies that require something other than facetank and auto attack.
