  1. If you are the ViP driver, first of all, thank you for the fights, it's been challenging and a lot of fun! I haven't seen anyone using an alt to spy on where you are going. People genuinely enjoy fighting you and your guild and there is a lot of reporting in /m and /t of where you are. If we lose sight of you we ask in /t and there are people on other maps looking for you. It's unusual for mag to bother chasing to other maps, we did it purely because it was a lot of fun. I'm not saying this isn't a tactic that gets used. We just haven't against you as far as I have seen. It tends to get used against organized groups who use tag watching themselves.
  2. It doesn't need to be fixed, there is no spawn camp. That would only be relevant if there weren't multiple maps with multiple exits.
  3. Sweet, maybe YB can perfect our siege game \o/
  4. Well maybe they're all on holiday. Perhaps one day technology will progress to the point that the announcement could be posted automatically, or done remotely out of office.
  5. Just wanted to say, this a million times. I would be fine having hard solo instanced content and having to personally work for my reward. I just really do NOT want to do it with a bunch of other people. It's not the difficulty some of us are complaining about, it's the type of content.
  6. Probably because every one of us has also played in a squad with a commander. Thinking for yourself in one actively gets you killed. I'm sure everyone's capable of tuning into some Twitchmander and seeing how it is also. I personally find it a lot more fun when each side has a large group but no formal commander too. I'm not naive enough to think those sitting in discord, complaining about getting ganked when they run back because there's no commander with them telling them to press dodge, are going to enjoy it.
  7. Consider making Bladesong: harmony unreflectable. At the moment bothering to trait it to boon rip is pointless in wvw due to reflect spam. It also feels very clunky and awkward having a cast time.
  8. You can't force people to play on redbl. It's a game not a job. Sorry you are one of a minority that seem to like that map but you can't force the rest of us to come play there with you ❤️
  9. I just don't see why they get out of playing the game mode when no one cries and petitions for me to not have to pve for my legendaries. And there's always the ones that stay. Even on mag where the welcome isn't exactly friendly I've seen pvers come for GoB and stay. Masochists I tell you.
  10. I'd rather they fix the bug rather than balance classes around it. In the meantime, make the decision to dismount before it's forced, or use the dodges wisely.
  11. It's not cheating though? Options - first tab - snap to target. If it's right there in the options menu.. it's not a hack. Unless having some basic knowledge of the game is a hack? And you don't even need to use snap to do it btw!
  12. It doesn't reward, it punishes. It punishes the rider for thinking he's safe and not making any decisions. When you know some one is likely chasing you, you need to decide, risk trying to dodge and keep running, or dismount and avoid the daze before he dismounts me? Personally I think the mount is already nerfed too much. It's hard to comment on a specific event that happens to a player when you hide your hp and don't show your build or stats. For all we know your toon was a level 15 in green gear.
  13. Like Leto said, while snap to target without doubt makes it much easier, it IS possible to hit in the middle of jerri rock without it. I usually don't bother turning snap on because I forget then get annoyed when I want to have an enemy targeted but barrage over on a down clump and instead barrage that one person. Not saying Snap is fair or should be in game, just noting that they aren't necessarily using it.
  14. I don't care what Webster says, it's really annoying. Change it back.
  15. I'm confused by posts like these. Yes, wvw is a team based game. Yes, roaming and small scale has a place. As part of that team game. Being a distraction while your pin does something else, sneaking a tower while your main zerg is elsewhere. The roamers - do you know just how large a part of ppt comes from camp guards, sentries and yaks? It's been years since I saw the math done so I don't recall the exact percent but it was HUGE. Working as a team doesn't mean everyone standing on one spot waiting for that one guy with a symbol on his head to tell them when to dodge or press a button. Up to 10 commander tags can be visible on a map since the beginning. If Anets intention was for us all to sit on one spot then why is this not 1 commander tag? This really doesn't have much to do with balance though. Players who don't enjoy playing the boonball meta simply want, when equal numbers v boonball, to have an equal chance of winning - assuming equal skill. As it is, boonball of 50 v 50 any thing else is no where near an equal fight. If only because the enemy are sitting there waiting for their skills to go off 25s later.
  16. This already happens. 5k ping spikes from the moment a boonball group enters the map. Doesn't seem to matter to them, so long as one of their 40 friends manages to kitten out boons they're good.
  17. The real problem is that groups are so dependent on one person telling them what buttons to press and when, that they crumble when that person is dead. As Hunk himself pin snipes I assume this is a parody thread to troll after a certain commander raged for hours on his stream that the engy standing very clearly infront of him waiting to pull him was unfair. A very visible engineer doing a very visible pull. A commander who refused to put stability, a stun break, or blink on his utility bar. Said commander decided to deal with this scenario by kicking every one out of squad if he had seen them die, because, 'He needed the IOL's for himself'. Making the game fun for every one folks! All Inclusive squad! **ranger and thief not included. Offer valid only until I decide otherwise. Ahem. The engineer pulling said commander wasn't killing him alone. He had ppl waiting to follow up the pull with damage. And even then, 5/10 times the attempt failed. Attempts fail due to: Stability being applied, Auto stun breaks, Target dodged, Random blade of grass in the way, 'obstructed', 'out of range' and one of the biggest reasons against these boon shitting groups - lag making the pull go off some time into the future. So that's most of the reasons the pull fails in the first place. Overcome those and the next issue is - The target actually reacts and presses buttons. Blinks, Personal stun breaks, stability can stop the action mid pull. Once pulled, blinks invulns, your 50 man squad actually reacting to get you back safely, etc etc with the main giant CARRY ME being mesmers running double or triple Illusion of Life. All that is before you even start thinking, 'hey, maybe there's counterplay?' Because there IS counterplay, not least of which is.. killing the sniper. gosh darn, if only ranger, thief, or engy had a roll in wvw.... Some commanders are so saturated in stability it's not worth trying to snipe them. When you have a coordinated large squad - probably with 20+ out of squad extra - against rag tag pugs with no commander, the pugs ability to strip those boons is minimal. If they're actually getting you on a consistent basis, you are terrible and your support is trash. The counter argument to this is usually, 'it's not our fault you don't have a 50 man 30 support blob yourself'! Get organised! To which I say. Your way of playing is no more valid than any one else's. I have way more fun playing with my friends inside a cloud than when I get on firebrand and 'comp up'. We have to find ways to counter your support heavy boon spamming mistake forgiving ball of choke sitters and you have to find ways to counter our counter. The game is already in your favour. How much more advantage do you need? Having said all that. I do think sniping the pin in fairly even fights is a dumb thing to do that ruins the fight for both sides. Just like it ruins fights when you drag your support heavy in discord compd squad on to a map where there is nothing that can oppose it.
  18. It may interest you but the lack of activity in comparison to the other maps clearly shows that no amount of cajoling, begging in team chat, calling people noobs who are 'too afraid of redbl', demanding that people play in a map they don't enjoy, or insisting that every one just needs to, 'learn the map', is going to make players choose to play there.Just delete it and help reduce the blood pressure of those three people per server who are screaming in /t every time no one will come help them on their beloved empty map.
  19. Careful to not make assumptions. The travel is localized to the keeps themselves. Not getting to them. That's why you need to keep the shrineS active to your side. Like I said you don't know the map. The only thing I see that need to change is if the enemy has all 3 of your shrine they can use the fast travel as well. And all the shrine system does is make it easier to avoid coming into contact with enemy players, thus adding to why many people avoid that map. The entire map feels like it's designed to actively aid avoiding player contact.Anet should take a long hard look at the activity stats on desert bl in comparison to the others, swallow their pride and delete the thing.
  20. Why would you want to ninja something? You avoid ebg because you are low pop in NA time zone on ebg. So, why bother trying because the bigger force has every advantage against you right? Hence things such as mount stomp or no down state would aid you to maybe hang on to some of your stuff or at least have fun killing some of the people. As far as population, coverage in an already low population time zone just gets worse and worse because people get frustrated and either move to a server more populated in t heir tz, or quit playing. So we end up with servers like SOS that have a map queue pveing everything in sea or ocx, (sorry I dont exactly know when these TZ start and end), with no NA. Other servers are all NA and no other tz. The game needs to help out the random pugs trying their best against a compd, discord using blob. Down state hurts everyone except a badly skilled blob. I mean ninja by any server not sos like hey we or 3rd team attack garry of Mags and Mag responds leaving SMC temp unattended then they lose SMC to said team because they got tied up in garry. Or a t3 tower but only other servers experience this because Mag don't move lol. Oh Mags attacking something lets attack Mags t3 bay and pull them off. No effect. Yeah I tell players avoid ebg and only defend like keep and t3 back towers maybe and take Mags BL and that beats you guys but SoS so dead at that time. Of course they flip overnight and how they stay in matches so it evens out.Well that's not really ninja, you want to be seen. And I was speaking generically, not about your server in particular. When you have no tag, no squad in comms and just randoms running round, it's probably best to have them on one map where they can help each other. With Mag it's usually ebg. With many other servers it seems to be, afk anywhere or just log out. Personally I'd rather be on the server where people will at least try without a tag.

  22. And yet, that isn't how it played out. The 30 constantly pushing 5-10 during normal playtimes, were clearly being carried by pure numbers. Because, during no downstate, they didn't push as deep, and when they did, died. We were able to, time and time again, slowly kill off the larger groups, because they didn't have the insta-res that they normally have. The skilled players didn't die as often, and the "we only have numbers" crowd, died, a lot. Even TC, the constantly outnumbered carebear server we are, played at, or above, 1.0 kdr all week. Where the largest server in our matchup, who normally has a 1.5 kdr or higher, stayed right at 1.0 also. Ya if you try and go oh 30 pugs pushed into our 10 man guild and some died sure. But a 30 man guild pushing into a 10 man guild wouldn't be the same results. You are confusing skill with being an organized guild group in discord all specced to support each other. Organization with or w/o ds will beat a bunch of pugs.Umm. Hi I'm on Maguuma. We most definitely are not an organized guild group in discord all specced to w key over pugs with max efficiency. Why do guilds do that by the way? Do you really need 3 support per party to run over people without a tag? Does it feel good? lol Anyway, no down state and mount stomp were both very good at helping pugs v a compd group. Now I have some sympathy with the whole, they got organized so they deserve to win mentality. But as the game goes on and population dwindles, more and more servers find themselves with less and less organized coverage. Which means that organized blobs are fighting random pugs more and more often. If you don't give those pugs tools to use and at least a chance to win with those tools and decent skill levels, the organized group ends up fighting no one, because they log. That isn't good for the game. What we often fail to consider is that the side currently losing needs to have fun too or they won't play the game. I personally don't care if we have 7 people with the outmanned buff against 30+ as long as I can punish the players who lag behind or don't dodge or think standing in the middle of their blob means they can watch youtube on their other monitor. But I'm going to log out when it's no fun at all. Which is more and more often in this meta, with the typical players mentality of blob blob blob, complain on the forums every time you don't dodge some damage and blobmanders whining in the dev discord to get the small group tools nerfed. Power is nerfed so badly now that no matter how experienced and generally skillful a bunch of randoms is, all they see time and time again is that when you punish a zergling for getting out of position, there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop the 5 minstrel wearing gamers standing in crap tons of aoe to rez them. And half the time it's a near instant rez and they're back up with full hp. Now call me weird, but I expect support to be supporting BEFORE the player goes down, not rescuing them after. What we find on our server is that down state heavily favours the side with larger numbers. If one of us goes down, its not very often anyone can rez with 80 slobbering nerds rushing at them. No down state made the blobs think twice, made it possible to punish players for mistakes, made fights feel better paced, (I'm 45 this year and I get bored as heck with the slow pace of fights, I can't imagine how any of you young'uns don't fall asleep playing this game mode) AND made it quicker to get back to a fight if defeated.
  23. No. Because guess what? No matter how much you buff the siege damage to players, it's ALWAYS going to hurt small groups more than large ones. Buffing ballistas to do more damage to siege and hitting more reliably, so you can destroy the blobs siege would be a lot more helpful. I miss the days when you could stealth behind and kill a few trebs without it taking so long you have little chance of succeeding. You're not thinking outside of the boxMake the damage increase per target hit !Adjust base damage, +10% damage / target hit.I don't think adding in even more calculations for the server to handle would do much other than blow them up once and for all :/
  24. I would say the the several seconds of a large very visible mounted player running at your downed is the 'cast time'.
