  1. this is off topic but iv'e actually never had a problem with my discord being hacked yet lmao. i do hear people mention this though. I dont like that discord asks for phone number for some servers..
  2. i havent played in a year, but when i did play people never talked at all. i was doing t4 fractals. so unless you did something to make the team mad, most people wont say anything
  3. The game has went through a lot of changes in 11 years. Base game was basically left untouched. It is a free trial also btw, so I doubt they'd make money from redoing it. Actually to my memory the base game story was shorter than what we get now. You could only do it every 10 levels.
  4. No, cc wins the game lol. try playing molten fractal with some people who don't stun the bosses, 😕
  5. I never understand these posts. Like, in a way I sympathize because I know new players have to go through all the story and buy the maps to get it. But the actual process, it's not bad. I am somebody that puts off tasks FOREVER. If you use wikipedia, it MARKS exactly where the scales are, the eggs are, all the tasks, and jumping puzzles, and food needed. I think it took me like..a week and a half? It wont flow through the gameplay progression BECAUSE they added mounts 5 years after the game was released. The ONLY annoying part about skyscale was the puzzle under the desert highlands map. Rarely, you can find a mesmer to port you through the walls to collect the essence of water. If not, there are youtube videos. If you're looking to no life the skyscale achievement, that's not the way to go about it.
  6. You basically typed up a lot of what i was feeling but more eloquently lol. from a player who started in 2012 when i was 14 and now that i am an adult, i dont see the game in the same way, its clear the storytelling teams who wrote base game characters like tybalt, trahearne , and the HoT storyline are no longer employed at anet. I haven't felt confident in the management of the game for a while now. When they lose customers trust, usually everything goes down from that. At least ANET were nice enough to allow refunds for EoD. Blizzard could afford the mistakes with WoW because it's blizzard and makes money off of multiple things. Not so much with gw2, it's worrisome. Also, i feel like every mmo that has transitioned to steam will usually try to make money off of steam players for a few years and then shut down. I've seen it with tera and some others that i've probably forgotten about.
  7. This is literally the only reason why this game is fun, exploring maps with crevices and levels. I got so sad playing open world in ffxiv where maps are just a flat backdrop for the story. Also, hp trains dont take long. you can start an episode of the story on your alt just to get 1 waypoint open in the expansions.
  8. I haven't played in a year, but my friend would run those dps programs and told me my daredevil does 30% of fractal boss health. It's not bad right? i wonder why less are playing it. i love it because its 3 dodges and only like 2 skills to do damage.
  9. I've noticed this trope even happened with ffxiv last year. In both games you start out learning about the city-states and population enemies.. Somehow end up needing to save the universe in both games. I am a little burned out of many games trying to come up with the next "Thanos" enemy.
  10. The maps were beautiful, but that's about it. I refunded before finishing arborstone. I have been a forum lurker since last year. Mastery tracks were weak. Fishing should not have been a selling point for an expansion.. i don't know how the classes feel to play but some of the new specs are meta right now.
  11. they were basically only ran in base game so people could get berserker tokens for gear. but , they became irrelevant once elite specs came out and more people started running t4 fractals with new boons.
  12. sorry man. before 2020, time is a blur for me at this point lol.
  13. i dont think they ever listen to players feedback on the story anyways
  14. (I am replying to the OP) Not trying to be "that guy" but, if you haven't updated your pc since 2012....Why? Decent ones are not even that much nowadays.. a lenovo gtx 3060 desktop is 899$ USD at best buy. If you seriously want to keep playing games as a hobby for the foreseeable future, you will need to buy a new computer eventually.
  15. it's short for my name. was too lazy to think of something like "goblinslayer92183023"
  16. There are cities and safe zones all over the world map for people to role-play. There is no reason to nuke the open world of enemy life. This is a game after all.
  17. this already exist in the form of fractals, i just wish they'd pump them out faster like ffxiv dungeons. but no, we havent gotten new fractal since 2020
  18. i liked base game since i was here then, but also path of fire. POF was super fun to play on release. probably top mmo moments; something this game hasn't been able to hit since.
  19. to be fair nothing in this game is really "old" if the map is at least level 80. the level cap has never changed. some content is still valuable to some people.
  20. OP hasn't replied since they created this post, i'm feeling like it's bait. Has OP bought the expansions and done any of the hero points? they give 10 points EACH! D:???
  21. If she has never played this style of game, maybe she just doesn't like mmos. I started mmos when i was 13. This is a fairly easy mmo too, considering there is only 5 main skills compared to like 20+ in FFXIV or LOTRO. So maybe she likes the mobile style gameplay? Auto run and highlighting the path with glitter to quests? Haha, i doubt we would ever get babied that much by ArenaNet. As far as a steam release, i think it'll be fine. People were hyped to try lost ark when it came out.
