  1. Thief has been eating huge nerfs in PvE and PvP for a literal decade now. There's nothing left to say--thieves have given YEARS of great feedback on how to improve the class while minimizing the things people dislike about it and it's all been summarily ignored. For crying out loud, it's 2022 and Thief *STILL* has to trait into Trickery to get the initiative the class needs to function properly! That's something people have been complaining about since *2012*! At this point there's nothing to be done. I decided a while ago to stop giving ANet my time and money. If you decide to keep playing the game, stop giving them your money at the least. Given the state of class and game balance and how many times they've promised to work on these things, they don't deserve it.
  2. Cute post OP, but the cries of "nerf thief!" started at release and never stopped. We've been the #1 target for hate for most of the game's existence regardless of the state of Thief at the time, and we've eaten many unneeded nerfs as a result. I don't expect this dynamic to change anytime soon, if ever.
  3. No amount of ideas for redesigns--even good ones--mean anything unless ANet decides they actually want to rework the Thief class and solicit our feedback. Don't see that happening anytime soon.
  4. Dullards still post too many nerf Thief posts. Needs additional (or any) thought. Title says it all!
  5. I don't think ANet dislikes thieves, but I do think no one in development actually plays the class. It's a long observed trend in MMOs that classes without developer representation often get ignored for years at a time. Typically, only the bare minimum of changes to maintain the class as part of the core game are made, if even that. As someone who has been playing thief on and off since release, the lack of passion and engagement with the thief from the development side is very evident. One glaringly obvious way this manifests is when game-wide system changes are made and only thief is left out. Two obvious examples immediately come to mind: 1> The removal of weapon range increasing traits. Thief is the only class that lost a range increasing trait without having the increase "baked in" (made baseline).2> Fixing the max range bug with Engineer's Shield pull skill. Scorpion Wire is mechanically identical, and yet remains unfixed years later.
