Yes, they definitely need to make it both public and private. I've done both and enjoyed the public far more given the many varieties of the different builds being played. As someone mentioned, the private squad can be a bit more picky, thus eliminating a lot of people who have just joined or returned to GW2 and aren't totally proficient with their skills. To be fair across the board, the Marionette fight needs to be open to both on a permanent basis.

I run a Ranger/SB. Today I discovered that the "merge" button is missing. I thought it might appear while in combat, but it didn't. I've already contacted Support, but just wondering if anyone has been having that problem or did and how they fixed it. Thanks!

I'm experiencing the same problem. I am literally sitting right on top of the blue conical symbol and it still won't work. I'm trying to get my SKYSCALE and can't progress. I've tried restarting, repairing, nothing!! Please!, someone help...I'm sooooo frustrated.
