  1. Or perhaps a Cata-Tonic? 😅
  2. I think it would be fair to allow players to change characters before/during matches if players are also allowed to change builds while defeated. It's weird how you can swap builds in 2v2 but not characters, and it's the opposite in 5v5 (but technically you could swap builds in 5v5 if you had multiple characters of the same class with already prepared counter builds). It might also give some players less reason to go afk...
  3. I think teapot posted a video about a week ago doing something like this? Guess that aged well ✌️
  4. Hurt me, hurt me. But don't desert me 😍
  5. Can't speak for the Alliance legend since I don't use it, but for a hybrid dps on Vindicator I've been using this: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PmwAwyZlxQHMPyh1RNMO6hRSfMCKgl3laMH-zRhYbRBRlSXo0qCjMSgYQglSmRQEFQthQFJgJHkxYFEVAPJdAlpQrhDW2dY/rA-e Food/utility is what it is because I share the same equipment template for my dps/quick herald in fractals. Useful when the healers can't keep up in fractals or strikes. Haven't had any complaints about dps while using this.
  6. The most important things I've learned about facing enemies in WvW: 1. Make a character dedicated to WvW. A popular suggestion is to play other classes to learn what they can do. While this is not a wrong suggestion, it's also a good idea to have the same kind of class for different game modes if you are seeking to learn the depths and capabilities. I have found this to be essential in the effort to develop to my offensive/defensive strategies on my class rather than spending time learning all the ins and outs of a different class that I'm not interested in playing. 2. Allocating stats properly and according to your role(s)/play-style will make the most out of your skills. Having less build options in SPVP should serve as a reminder to take full advantage of what's available. 3. Focus on making at least two types of builds: size/threat of enemy vs how many allies are around you (i.e solo or squad). Keep in mind that weapon choices can also play an important role in these situations. In the end, it's always about having the upper hand in a fight. Just remember to stay aware of who's around you because not everyone will have your back.
  7. I get the frustration, tough matches can be a learning experience for everyone. As hopeless as some matches/players are, I can't blame you. In my opinion, it's worth trying to take a constructive lead than deciding everybody's time should be wasted. Though I'm more the type to keep playing even when I have an afker because it doesn't make sense to join a match and not play the game. We all handle loss differently, I guess
  8. Quick Heal Herald http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PmwAYx7lpQJdMLiKndRT1MMqqnJSh9tCaogntkfrE-zRZYdRBpmqaoqqgjYoUCMCqtAqOBSPE89QQgJQqd1zQogABkoCRSVAWafYDA-e This is what I have been using for open world/strikes/raids. It works for fractals as well, but if you've got a fractal potion you'd want to swap some harriers with zealot so that boon duration isn't overcapped. Maximum uptime of boons on sword, just swap to staff as needed for CC or healing. If more healing is needed then swap the trait Rolling Mists for Song of the Mists, but it's pretty easy to camp staff for healing with this build and still keep boons going. The site is incorrect for boon duration, it's actually 98.06% (sword/shield) and 75.06% (staff) with food and infusions - which are not required to play this build effectively, but it does help a bit to maintain might on allies. Overall, it's a fun build that pretty much plays itself. Note: This build does help prevent groups from wiping whether or not a source of Stability/Aegis is present. Using Jalis to provide Stability is not my recommendation but is still an available option. The use of sword/shield can provide permanent stability with the amount of boon duration this build has.
  9. Sure, the extra condition removal, cooldown and energy reduction for moving the tablet, and all the added boons will raise the skill floor for using tablet, but it seems like y'all didn't play it enough to realize how good the alacrity was especially when paired with Ancient Echo.
  10. Yeah even something simple like calling targets can be uneasy when you're focusing on positioning and placement. Though if you had another tablet user in squad to cover the tail/flanks, then as a commander you could be the user who just keeps the tablet in your path of travel.
  11. If you're going to put a limit on blocks and reflects for projectiles then there should also be limits to invulnerability or taking 0 damage skills. It's the same idea when you can block more than 20-30 melee strikes in 3-4 seconds.
  12. In my experience: Core - superb support in wvw and pvp, my first choice in any type of competition (shiro/ventari) Herald - totally self-reliant healer, my main healer for pve (especially fractals) Renedage - good hybrid options with dps and/or support, boring but useful Vindicator - great killer in pve and wvw, requires more skill in pvp where stats are limited
  13. Willbender competes with core revenant with Shiro for movement, but I haven't had much difficulty keeping them in combat during a chase. Especially since they're usually running away lol
  14. Might help if CCs had at least some kind of damage, maybe a low coefficient? I'd be happy
  15. Learn heal herald and heal renegade. Paired with a quickbrand you can pug with literally (any DPS welcome).
  16. There isn't. It's all about destroying safe spaces. Take what you can!
  17. To put it simply, taking away the alacrity from Serene Rejuvenation would remove the freedom to reduce the amount of boon duration needed for a Renegade that is built to heal to provide enough alacrity while (instead of Righteous Rebel) traited with Lasting Legacy as a source of might. Heya pals, bored of Diviner Rev?
  18. People just aren't satisfied with classes being unique anymore. This boring trend of "my class should do everything" is getting old.
  19. Players are left to deal with the consequences of the stats which they choose to apply to their classes. If they can't be helped to come up with their own ideas, then let them learn the hard way. Sure, they may end up here complaining or quitting because almost every player out there just passes along the same (bad) advice: copy, paste, play. But what I appreciate most about this game is that every style of play (not including PvP in most cases) has a build that can be tailored to fit for any level of intensity. The ones who get frustrated with the ways that others decide to build their classes won't agree with this, and think that it's fair to make suggestions that fit their ideal based on their misconceptions. What good players could do instead of getting frustrated is to create builds for themselves that attempt to pick up the kind of slack where they notice other players are having trouble performing. Anet has done a tremendous job at providing an abundance of balanced options. Believe it or not, there is noticeably more success and fun when players are willing to collaborate builds in this fashion.
  20. Supports make the game harder for opponents who want max rewards for minimal effort. People project their own shortcomings by making silly demands instead of finding creative solutions.
  21. http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PeQAQlxyeZtMXWMOsXvxdA-zVxYNhgqCKEiugQBDJoMKICqhCToMCsAiNB09QYiFQGkCJcYmAQFUACShdUJCAt03CG-w Just put this together today, pretty fun for roaming with a few players but takes some effort to solo in WvW. Easy enough in PvE.
  22. I just don't get why some players want WvW to be as limited as PvP. There are enough options to deal with builds, especially those that use full stats like celestial... 🥱
  23. I completely agree, this would be awesome
  24. I have a feeling that this will get a whole lot easier when we get to the point where nearly everyone is using turtles during the entire meta event, especially those riding with upgraded jade bots. The damage and cc looks very sufficient, it's just going to take some patience for more players to get there. By then it will probably end up being the most chill event to do and all this loud emotion will have been for nothing.
  25. It's understandable, as a rev you were able to gain the effect of all unique weapon swap sigils equipped across both weapon sets by swapping your legend then swapping weapons (while in combat). Though this trick isn't possible for engineers and elementalists, it is still available for classes such as necromancers and guardians.
