1. How about we instead work on the skills/utilities that don't work underwater to make them work underwater first/instead?
2. PvP is irredeemable, not Guild Wars 2. Making a sequel now would solve nothing. And, while this is my uninformed opinion, relying on another company's game engine is not a good idea in the long term. Example : Unity.
3. Logged in last night to see this. Given that there was no patch or changes between then and when I was logged on earlier that day, this is most likely something on their end causing the error. While I figured out how to work around it quickly, the broken text and boxes are awful to look at.
4. They're likely referring to her "Deadly Attraction" skill, which hits very hard(1), inflicts taunt and confusion(2), and has only one telegraph : a glowing eye symbol floating above her head (which you may not see initially, or I didn't due to having my camera more angled towards the ground to watch for her other AoEs). The other major annoyances with this skill is that it has no AoE indicator for its range, and line of sight seems to not be effective either, if your character is facing her when this is about to hit, it will hit you if you are close enough. I've had at least two instances fighting her when she teleported to the elevated platform, was climbing up the edge on my skyscale only to have this skill hit me around the corner and knock me off. (1) - From the few combat log readings I've gotten, this skill hits in the 15 -17K range, possibly higher if it can crit. While it should be noted that this was against characters using Viper and Valk-Berserker gear, that is still ridiculous for one skill, and I doubt tankier sets would mitigate that by much. (2) - The taunt and confusion by themselves don't hurt much, but last long enough to recommend a stunbreak just for them. Moreover, the taunt can potentially make your character run into her her other primary AoE, the intertwined lines of burning rocks, which also hit hard and CC (launch/pushback)
5. Twitch has muted several portions of the stream, including most if not all of the match you intended to show. This seems to have had the side effect of breaking the video, causing it to freeze after a few seconds of playing in any muted section (while the timer still keeps going.) Also, this comeback, while probably impressive, is more likely an exception, not the rule. In most matches, the fight would be decided simply by a 100 point lead, with the behind team unable to do much if anything to catch up.
6. If it goes into the special tab, sure. As a weekly though? No.
7. No. They would have to make Serpent's Ire fun/rewarding first. And seeing as they have not done that so far (and likely never will), I don't want that wretched meta anywhere in the Wizard's Vault.
8. This again. Sigh... No. Even if it was reasonably possible, the time for it has come and gone. It would cost ArenaNet extra time/money/resources for every version they have to keep tabs on, it means their patches would have to go through Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo/etc for approval, slowing down updates at the very least if not adversely affecting them in other ways, and for a nebulous return on investment that will eventually die off and require renewing upon newer consoles to keep it going. And this is before any potential technical issues, bugs, glitches, or things like crossplay (whether or not to even do that), or the interests/demands of the console community (or lack thereof). Admittedly, much of this is just my opinion, but, if ArenaNet was going to do this, they'd have done it long ago. It took them years to even get onto Steam, and that had problems of its own. TLDR : No. Not worth it, don't know anyone who'd go for it. The horse has been eaten by raptors already.
9. Yes, but the recipes were a random chance reward from Wintersday presents, with no guaranteed means of acquiring them. If they're not going to bring back the food into the gift boxes, the least they can do is make the food recipes directly available from the festival merchants, which they do for every other festival that I am aware of. There was no reason for this sudden inconsistency, just like there was no reason to remove the food in the first place when they can make food items that can't be turned into research notes.
10. Agreed. Also make the recipes for the festival food available from the merchants, rather than being hidden behind RNG...like what happened to the Wintersday food.
11. I suggest you be more specific about what parts should be made more holographic. Still, I'd likely say no. It looks fine as is and meshes well with the rest of the set already.
12. Why should the Top 100 list of some game magazine/site mean anything to any of us?
13. These things are useless to anyone that doesn't have a guild hall, or anyone that doesn't feel like filling said guild hall with Super Clouds or making the other stuff that requires them. Since they apparently cost 25 baubles to buy from the merchant (once unlocked), I figure having the option to trade them for that many apiece is fair.
14. No. The issue with GShade validates the concern that any mod could be a Trojan Horse lying in wait, or become one later. Keep that out of here.
15. Because legendary aquatic headgear isn't worth the time or effort. Or even necessary, the headgear can be removed and you won't drown. Magical quaggan breathing powers, I guess. As a previous poster stated, they could remove it and little to nothing of value would be lost.
16. They still need to fix that broken one in Timberline Falls. Oh. Never mind.
17. Except that it is. Original post below :
So, a lot of people have been visiting the edges of the Tyrian Siberia in order to kick around the Big Bad Dragon for the holiday achievement... So I guess most of you will be aware of what I'm going to rant about. The poor Claw. Once a superpowered beast, for which to kill we had to utilize the mighty charzookas, to protect the top of the line golems, carrying the omega-code secret Asuran explosives, shattering the bone-shattering icicles of painful death. It had mechanics and all, champions spawning everywhere, THE LEDGES, even. Now what resides there is a pile of HPs kicked around by a pile of players with a certified ability to press 1 and C (default) in turns. The champions are roaming somewhere back there, looking stupid, anyone who dares to do the event according to the mechanics just dies with nobody to resurrect them - the charzookas part is entirely out, because the bunch just packs themselves behind the wall, bugging the hell out of the whole ordeal. It looks stupid, it is stupid, and even if frozen cheese retains most of its flavour, in this case it's like chewing some withered rubber. We need some simple buffs for the frost field, or maybe some killer champs around the dragon itself, we need anything to turn this event back to something remotely resembling a thing that needs a shred of thought to complete. Amirite? Amirite?
While I've not done this particular world boss in a long time, I recall the champions not dropping anything, and having overinflated HP and attack power, so of course no one will bother with them. The ice wall could be broken by normal attacks, the charrzookas just did it better (maybe), and they already got rid of the ledges so there's no safe spot to avoid that stupid chill you to death field. They are clearly asking for it to be harder without outright saying it. Moreover, they want to do it in perhaps the worst ways ever, all because apparently most others won't bother with that. I wonder why...
18. How is the game being easier ruining it? How does one even determine that the game overall has gotten "easier"? Far as I recall, there are plenty of vectors for those seeking harder content regardless. Fractals (higher level ones), Raids, Strikes, even certain open world zones, mostly some of the later Living World ones, but also mostly those in the first expansion. (Especially Tangled Depths.) Makes one wonder if these people will ever truly be satisfied, or if they'd just rather see the whole game twisted to their vision, and the rest of us driven out.
19. Probably depends on who views the report, which sadly we don't know. While the general consensus seems to be that they'll do little if anything nowadays, I know of at least two instances where this wasn't the case. The only sure way is not to play.
20. Why? What purpose would Mystic Coin gambling serve that couldn't be applied to something else? I don't think people even bother with the ectoplasm gambling beyond morbid curiosity. Wait. 2 posts from the OP?...yeah, this is looking like a troll thread.
21. As many others have pointed out, the title of the thread included PvP and was about PvP. Moreover, this thread isn't the first one to pop up in the general tab but only regard PvP in particular recently (one of a few recent threads criticizing downstate in PvP popped up here as well), so whatever moderation there is now is likely focusing on this section in particular. The claim that no one visits the PvP forums is also incorrect, as the replies to the thread and others have shown.
