  1. Are you bothered by nasty bad-guys rallying off of your bruised and broken corpse...? Covered in every condition going...? Frustrated when the mighty and victorious skip up and down on your dying downstate chump of an avatar in a threatening manner...? No problem! You need new 'Rally-Away!'. The "Soothing downstate ointment!". Made from a secret formula containing 11 herbs and spices stolen from Colonel Sanders mixed with anet developer 'stalled-alliances' perspiration. Kind soothing 'Rally-Away!' means immunity from meta-cluster-$&%@-build-to-rally zerg BS. No longer worry or rage quit when half your squad is down on the first-push, bleeding out slowly on the battle field far away, as your opponents' meta-ball-of-op-&@$%-candle hunts you down... Blawbs can try and fail to roll over you all day with 'Rally-Away!' Laugh and laugh hard from downstate as your imploding death from random damage no longer causes meta-spec Engis, Firebrands and other meta-boredom to boing up again and again in front of your eyes every match-up! Chuckle from any position (including reset) as the Scourges around you attempt their mischievous meta-ranged-aoe-targeting to spring-up, like a guy on his wedding night, off of your sorry-blundering-lack-of-skillz-downed-heap-of-a-class. Their failure is your fresh epic every time! All 'wells' that ends well. Watch in marvel as 'Rally-Away!' stops multi-server WvW blob clashes from looking like over-priced whack-a-mole... Stand in the epicenter of layered high-damage AOE red circles of death as you please.. AFK absolutely anywhere! Yes! You can with 'Rally-Away!'. Better than a boon-ball... Smarter than the pocket-meta... You are as safe as a tower-hugging ranger... It's totally inspiring-ly awesome! It's 'Rally-Away!'. 'Rally-Away!' is THE "Soothing downstate ointment!". The only way to play! Only 1 gazillion gems per ointment application plus a long tedious stream of hard to acquire time-locked items.. This is anet and GW2 after all... Terms apply, conditions do not. While stocks last.
  2. Sounds good to me Lan. The other possibility for core that I thought is to just reduce the attunement cool-down slightly for core Ele. I am not sure what other folks think about that? Would that be good or a bad move? The devs could reduce it to 7 or even 6 sec with a trait? Maybe that is too low? But it would be mad and fun that you could go even quicker than before. 🙂 I also do miss the limited stability you get on tempest earth attunement overload as well. I am coming from more competitive modes rather than PvE so it does help in WvW for example. Not sure how a touch of stability can be worked in without issues and without selecting the earth trait line? Maybe it is not needed and you can alter the play-style to adapt anyway? And it gives another reason to choose tempest or another spec. No bad thing. What do you think? I do not think the kinds of proposals folks are making would be overpowered on core Ele and core would become competitive and some fun as a corollary. It would also add a suitable, but not to severe trade off, across all play modes for existing elites including catalyst. The Arcane trait-line suggestions looks great Lan. And yes, great suggestions all. Devs, can you give this kind of thing a look please? Cheers.
  3. I love Lan's idea here. I said similar in the catalyst feedback thread. If in theory you gave core Ele an F5 button that reset attunement cool-downs that could work, it is the original Ele and instantiator of attunements after all. And that may help core. It has to be done right but could work. I am probably being a bit over adventurous here, but if you have a boon per attunement and and aura with stab as the boon on earth for F5 as well. Too much? Possibly? hehe 🙂 It's simple, hopefully quick to implement, and should not interfere with all the other stack of complexity for elites. You obviously lose it if you take tempest or weaver. Not sure on the cool down of F5; maybe 2 attunement cool-down lengths or 3 attunement cool-down lengths or some other intermediate figure? We could start with 2 attunement cool-down lengths and get pushed higher if anet needed to? Traits need work as others have said. Hopefully that is coming in the future. I know, I know, but it is ok to hope right? You would see a lot more core Eles about with just that F5 improvement... The Devs could call the F5 'Love' as a homage to the Fifth Element and to say, we like folks to play Ele too.
  4. I am liking it! Honestly. There are bugs, mis-coloured items and I am on a different map from my guild having ticked the guild box earlier in the week. But it was fun. I know I probably got lucky looking at the other posts. But the fights were a laugh, better than usual reset ones on my world server. It is what it is I guess. I am meeting a lot of new players too. Good people, good fun. You'll get there anet. Thanks for the change. Thanks for a first try. It has freshened it up for me today. Just wanted to say.
  5. My EU accounts cannot login. I tried NA and that does login with an account I have there. So maybe just EU?
  6. Whatever Catalyst is, it is not currently an Ele! 🙂 It feels like something from another class and play-style. I am sure some will like it for its looks. My opinion only, but the concept of an Ele, looking all the way back to a core Ele, through Tempest and Weaver, is a flow/flux from one thing you are doing to the next. And you combat an Ele by interrupting that flow/flux and the Ele is trying not to have the flow/flux interrupted. In recent years Ele has had all kinds of adjustments to its detriment that are not in keeping with this flowing concept. Many skills have 'unnecessary' waits or delays. This comment is not about making Ele OP, but about bringing it back to the flow concept which people seem to like about the class, moving from one attunement to another, etc. We should remember as well that Ele has the lowest health pool and no access to various mechanics other classes have in abundance. That is not a complaint, just an observation. In my opinion quick casting skills are an important compensation to an Ele for said lack of 'other things' and quick casting should be a core constituent of its class. Coming to Catalyst utility skills. They are dependent on something else that is dependent on something else... so these layers of dependency do not aid the 'flow/flux' of an Ele at all. You stop for a bit (in Ele terms an eternity), wait for this to be aligned, then that. By that time the battle and fun have moved on... It is very slow and ponderous. Do we need these dependencies on the utilities? I only get superspeed if this stack of infrequent dependencies align... Maybe we do need that for other good reasons known to the devs? Fair enough. We have to remember as well that Ele cannot swap weapons in combat so Hammer is it once you engage. And being a dual-slot weapon the Hammer needs to give you a lot across the game for people to use it at all. I am not sure it does currently. You obviously can't slot in a focus or war horn or other weapon along-side to compliment like scepter or a dagger. The staff has a lot more on it. The hammer also has limited range and mobility. In light of the above, for competitive modes, I am not sure what Catalyst would be used for. I like the name and the graphics and icons look good. Animations are good. The higher-view concept is fine with me. So yes. I am not sure how you can make this elite class better? But it is currently not competitive with other Ele choices and other classes. I was hoping for an F5 reset attunement cool-down button (with limitations) as the special. 😜 Ah and a special request for 2021. If you can make underwater Earth skill 5 a local AOE smoke-field instead of 1200 ranged one that would be great for WvW use in bay... 😉 haha
  7. Haha, I just noticed that I posted to a PvP forum entry when this is really about WvW. Sorry guys. I just did a search on the most recent rally discussion on the forum. My bad. Ignore.
  8. Rally should go in WvW. (Or just make it for new low-rank folks, maybe before bronze rank to support them start or adjust?). As should warclaw instant kill on dismount (a high rank WvW trait ability). Just be happy with some appropriate dmg on the warclaw dismount. If that dmg kills the target fair enough. The trait can be changed to slightly more dmg maybe? Suggestions. All your get now in zerg fights is high-ranking WvW players boing up again and again from new folks on the opposition who clearly don't know what is going on... so AOE target as much as possible on engage and wait for them to die. It is not in the spirit of the game. And does turn many fights. I guess folks could love the 'ha ha I got away with it' moment. But other than that... So my opinion is that rallying is pseudo-random in that you can't really play that much of have fun with it. Try and cleave and stomp maybe. Then the guy you are stomping or cleaving boings up! From what? Who knows? But these folks who multi-rally do so very quickly. It either goes your way in a zerg or not. It makes a mockery of a warrior having to play their skills and wait for their Vengeance to rally when this is all going on. Also, if I rally off of a clearly not-as-knowledgeable player I feel I cheated the someone who played well to down me in the first place. Other times you just sit there downed and ignored (which can be a tactic of sorts in terms of resource starvation and run back time). In that case the engine should just increase the health-out to death after a time so you can respawn. Conversely people may choose to sit there on the ground dead just scouting... so yes lots going on with this piece. It is also not always clear on rally who did what to whom. If you rally. You have no real idea in a skirmish who you rallied off. There is no instrumentation. That is not even logged. Well not I can see. You can't congratulate or well-wish anyone. It just feels like a lottery where the skill you used may have counted or not. If your side wins, everyone says , well played. If you lose, they usually say we need more of some class or that people have the wrong builds or are off tag (they are probably right haha), the usual. Which says to me most folks are not sure what is going on really... they ignore the rallying piece mostly as it is nothing to do with builds. Some folks that have mentioned it in chat have termed it 'rally-wars'. That is all I have come across. I am fine with friends reviving you in the middle of combat as that can work for or against you depending on circumstances. Your good or bad choice. And I am not fussed that much if down state goes or stays (I suppose I would not miss it). I mostly get a double health bar necro as a default target when I am downed haha! But the multi-rallying and warclaw-finish nonsense just feels a far cry from the dodging weaving placing system we expect in dynamic play. So yes we should expect better. Probably, the reply will be who cares, anet doesn't etc. But I feel it is important to state what you have an issue with as a start. The rest of the game I can mostly live with. I know it is probably in wind-down anyway.
  9. I feel bad for those trackball folks. :/ And my usb-connected 'HotWheels' steering wheel is just unusable within WvW now. :D Most likely a 'driver' issue...
