You can pick it apart all you want. Locking skyscale behind this anwful quest line/collection is a turn off for people. Blizzard not only made a better version, but also made it accessible within the first two hours of the expansion. Locking mobility/utility away is never a good move. Enjoy your sinking ship of a game. Defending A-net constantly seems to be paying off. You can really see how well they’re doing as a studio with their new content patch that took a year.

Why is that relevant? The argument he was making was that people who complain are doing so because they want “instant gratification.” 100hrs is 100hrs. Whether it’s playing group content, things you enjoy, or things you don’t enjoy. maybe my issue with the skyscale is that it makes the game feel like a solo RPG, vs earning it while also doing group content.

It’s not about duration. I’ve done griffin, multiple legendaries, long achieves in WvW / PvP. none of those were instant gratification. skyscale’s collections are so painfully boring that after 10 minutes of looking at a guide to see where they are, I lose all interest.

Shhh don’t criticize this game. The posters with 1000+ will pop in to tell you that you’re wrong and the game is the best it’s ever been.

I haven’t played since Oct. I’ll just stop on the forum every few months. I’ll come back once the Mount is more accessible.

I casually browse this forum while sitting at work. I haven’t logged in to GW2 since October. I can’t bring myself to play it, knowing that I still need to unlock skyscale. so yeah, I occasionally come here to complain about the skyscale unlock. I also find it ironic that you criticize my spending time on this forum, while you and 2 others that I can name are chronically on this forum with thousands of posts each.

There is nothing “hard” about unlocking it. It’s time consuming for the sake of being time consuming.

A dying game that's basically on maintenance mode needs all of the money it can get. I was spending hundreds a month on gems.

Griffon took a day. I'm not dedicated weeks to that mount and until those requirements are changed, I will continue to pump money into other games. 250G is pennies compared to the value of time.

I did all of that. I refuse to do the scavenger hunts. That is that worst gameplay design I can possibly imagine locking a mount behind.

After suffering through the awful living world story, I get slapped in the face with the collections. No. Not doing it.

Wow doesn’t lock mobility behind a garbage grind with a terrible story. You get their version of the skyscale an hour into the new expansion. I have multiple ascended sets and legendaries on GW2. Those were fine. Griffon was fine. Skyscale was enough to make me quit. You’re really trying to claim WoW is more grindy than GW2? I can be max level and near BiS gear on an alt in a week or so. GW2 legendaries take months. there’s a reason this game’s popularity is consistently decreasing.

I check this forum once a month to see if this awful grind is gone. I got half way through, noped out, and took my money to WoW.

Right, so punish the servers that have stuck together and built a culture..

Wow this alliance idea feels like garbage. Leave the servers alone. Don’t destroy 10 year of communities for this.

I love that they are the biggest toxic goons in-game and then go on a teapot stream and are like “how do we get new players in PvP 🥺”

That perfectly describes the person I originally responded to. I can open any complaint thread and find that person defending Anet. It’s creepy.

The match that made me finally quit PvP, was him and Nos telling me to un-alive myself when the first team fight was lost. They then sat in spawn, chat raging the rest of the match. This isn’t the first time, I’ve experienced toxicity in the game, but something about it rubbed me wrong. I think it’s because A-net props these guys up and partners with them, like they’re good people.
