  1. Here are some things I learned over the years that may be less obvious to some players. I'm going to avoid listing the really basic things that almost everyone knows, focusing only on some very specific things I learned from veterans, from my own experience and from wiki research. Convert T5 dust to research notes Incandescent Dust is quite common and it doesn't really have any good uses beyond clogging up your bank and the trading post. It's now the second cheapest dust after Glittering Dust (T1). Use it to craft Quality Tuning Crystals (req. Artificer 300) and then salvage them with a Research Kit. This is one of the cheaper sources of research notes coming in at just over 1s per research note. The Search for Buried Treasure You probably have a stack of unused treasure hunting kits. Check /wiki et for the next Search for Buried Treasure in Desert Highlands and just do the event. It is 100% the most underrated meta event in the game. Bring a high mobility build and avoid combat so you can teleport freely. 1 chest per minute is easily attainable, for a minimum of 20 chests total. (Works best on a highly populated map with other players uncovering chests.) The main prize is Stories of the Great Zehtuka, which offers a choice of ascended Harrier armor recipes. Some of the recipes insta-sell for 40g, or can be listed for 100g+. Despite the recipe book being the most expensive drop you can get, the drop itself is actually not very rare. I once received two recipe books from the same event. Mystic Forge Conduit Buy (or craft) a Mystic Forge Conduit so you can use the MF from right next to a trading post or bank. It's quite cheap for a permanent-use item. Gamble medallions The last tip was important because I want you to throw your Medallions in the Mystic Forge for a chance at Amalgamated gemstones. Gamble yellow weapons This is bad advice for some but if you've been playing long enough then you are already the king/queen of Ectoland and you don't need more ectos. Throw all your yellow weapons in the MF for a chance at unlocking new exotic skins and even precursor drops. Additionally the MF can give you a yellow drop from the Krait weapons collection. Check the Faction Provisioners to see if it can be traded for a Provisioner Token before you recycle or sell it. Note: don't gamble yellow armors, it's better to salvage for ectos and Charms of Brilliance/Potence/Skill. Gamble 3 exotic weapons with a Mystic Forge Stone If you follow the tip from above, exotic weapons will start cropping up in your inventory, perhaps account-bound because you unlock all the skins. Once you have three you can use a Mystic Forge Stone for the remaining slot. Once again, only do this with weapons for a chance at precursor drops.
  2. I feel like spirit shard material conversions need to be rebalanced. Generally speaking, only T5 to T6 promotion can be worthwhile. For most other tiers, it's more economical for the player to sell the lower tier material and buy the higher tier material on the TP. To give you an extreme example, you can promote 250x wool scrap (1s 94c) to ~87x cotton scrap (44c). Nobody in their right mind would ever waste a spirit shard on this trade. You'd be better off selling 250x wool scrap on the TP, purchasing 936x cotton scrap with the proceeds and keeping the spirit shard. The recipes should be rebalanced to give you a fairer trade. Decrease the number of required items or increase the average number of output items, I don't care.
  3. I'm looking for a spot close to a waypoint where I can stack 1h+ of both the offensive and defensive protocol buffs. I quite like the North lab area in New Kaineng because it has a charging station close to the protocols, but it's nowhere near a waypoint. Any suggestions?
  4. Where's the sense in that? If they wanted to limit the exp gain you get from the buff then they didn't do a stellar job. You can still farm EXP around the clock if you have 2 characters and switch to the other character every time one needs to rest in Arborstone. So why artificially limit the length of the buff on just one character?
  5. I hope they realize it's broken and make it easier to pause or refresh the timer while in Arborstone. The buff is really good for leveling but it punishes using your character for more than 4 hours and then you have to wait 4 hours to get the buff back.
  6. That also doesn't seem to work. Just tried it on a character which I hadn't logged in to for a day, waited for 15 minutes and then ran through the portal. The Rested timer didn't reset to 4 hours. So either the description is wrong, or the implementation.
  7. That's incredibly confusing, they could have worded that better. — In-game description What do they mean then??
  8. Yes, I know that, but once you have the Well Rested effect then the Resting effect changes to give back time spent in Arborstone. This is a question about how much time you can recover.
  9. It's not entirely clear to me what is the best way to maintain the Well Rested buff once I have it. The Resting effect says that any elapsed time is returned when you leave Arborstone. What if I only have 15 minutes remaining and I stand in Arborstone for a full hour. How much time do I get back? 15 , 60 or 75 minutes?
  10. This is a bit of a rant because I wanted to splurge on build and equipment tabs when they were on sale. Sadly I didn't check the gemstore that day. Guess I'll wait until the next sale. *angry millennial noises*
  11. ESDF for movement is really interesting. I'll try it if I ever get a free weekend. Meanwhile I added another keybinding to my must-haves: Alt+R for beetle mount. So I can press R to autorun slowly, or Alt+R to go vroooom across the map.
  12. because spacebar is jump and F is interfact. 😉
  13. What are some non-default keybindings that you can't play without? I'll go first Ctrl+spacebar: heal Alt+F: special skill Alt+R: Beetle
  14. Canach Coins should probably not be pinned to the top of the wallet? https://i.imgur.com/Iw1QQ0U.png
  15. Just to clear some things up, it was actually impossible to craft the cores in the first few days after launch because the Jade Piece recipe was unavailable to all players. Tier 1 cores were trading for 60g or more at one point. I guess the omission of the recipe was done on purpose, it's hard to fathom that this was a mistake. Nearly every new recipe relies on the Jade pieces. Now that the recipe has become available to Jewelers, I think it's fine that alts don't get it for free without playing the story first. You can craft it on your main and transfer to your alts, or you can buy cores from TP relatively cheap. (<2g at the time of writing.)
  16. I don't know what's happening but the price has doubled again since I posted. Highest bid for jade core now at 60g. So stupid.
  17. You mean it's not possible to craft? Asking because I sold my only core for 15g and the price has doubled since then. Ridiculous. Now I'm playing story on my alt to get the core back for my main.
  18. Just to let you know, ascended equipment doesn't work either. It asks if you want to destroy the item, but clicking 'Yes' doesn't actually do anything.
  19. That works, mystery solved. Thanks all. 🙂 https://imgur.com/a/fCnrbza
  20. I don't know, the first 3 items do "light up" in the forge UI, only the last one fades out, if you know what I mean. Usually that means the last ingredient is something else. I just tried using a Mystic Forge Stone but that also won't let me do it. The stone lights up after I put in 1 or 2 rabbit feet, but fades out if I put in 3 feet.
  21. Just tried a few different ones from the LA to Mistlock to the portable conduit but they all have the same issue.
  22. I thought so too but it's not possible. Order doesn't matter. I tried logging out and back in to see if it was just a glitch. It still won't let me put in 4 rabbit feet. Which leads me to believe it needs a different fourth item.
  23. You can put 3 Lucky Rabbit feet in the mystic forge, but not 4. What is the fourth item for this recipe? https://imgur.com/a/O6leG09
  24. I was in a public Marionette instance with roughly 25/50 players while my friend from another guild was in a different instance with a similar number of players. Both maps failed to start because we could not gather the minimum of 50 players in either instance. We had at least 50 total across both instances though, so some of us should have been able to start. This was not a great experience.
