  1. I find it quite funny that Anet has that full disdain of anything pvp because of the ESL thing, which also failed because of them mind you. Since then anything related to competition is wiped under the carpet and hidden, like Anet is controlled by some kinder garden teacher and everything "violent is forbidden". The fun part is that they probably believe that whole kitten about GW 2 has no toxicity is real thing and not because people just don't interact with each other get bored by the cookie clicker gameplay and forget the game in a month. The problem is that PVP doesn't bring money, and it doesn't bring money cause Anet didn't monetize it properly and there isn't many people playing it and there isn't many people playing it cause there isn't any development, one could say it is a death spiral, but its actually Anet fault, cause they had developers on pvp but they left and their positions didn't get filled and most probably the dev slot went to something pointless probably to their terrible marketing team.
  2. Use this next time to calculate mats. It shows what you can buy/craft and which is cheaper right now. https://gw2efficiency.com/crafting/calculator
  3. Pretty sure most people have not memorized kitten and are using macros. I call kitten on the one action one key ToS thing Anet has since they don't police it (when looking at the more serious kitten passing without bans). Most gaming mice come with pre build macro software and basically all button functions are like a macro event on them . Pretty sure this one of the big reasons people melt down when Spellbreaker becomes meta , since it kittens up their macro script.
  4. Bad telegraphs, Floaty telegraphs , random (but not really random) procs , Big kitten scary AoEs doing nothing while almost invisible ones doing 8k. You have dumb kitten face roll kitten with like 6 kill abilities and then you get people playing bunkers cause the previous group does damage while mouth breathing , so you get games where no damage can be done or everyone is down in 0.5 seconds. The game is cluttered with kitten with zero readability and it is not about skill but who has the more insolated build that can handle stupid kitten. That isn't even a hot take that is a cold take .
  5. I think new players should start way lower silver/bronze , but the already rated players should start around their rank - x points or whatever . If you put everyone at same start you get the same result as now since new people will still have to play vs top 250 on their first ranked game. There is also one other issue with the behind the scenes MMR old accounts get smacked with hidden MMR and you get treated X points higher then you actually are, while fresh account get boosted up for some reason .
  6. So we are asking for cc skills that should probably do damage. Prime example here people, the whole shtick is doing more damage to lower HP targets , https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Executioner's_Scythe but as you can see it does 3, 4 and the kittening mighty 5 damage. Another one https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Drop_the_Hammer 3 years of casting to do 4 damage. Kinda miffed about https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/"Chilled_to_the_Bone!" not getting some damage when Prime light beam got some back and that kittener is ublocable, while Chilled to the bone is not but it still does kittening 5 damage, Then there is Warrior ...
  7. I have an issue with the block skill on staff Bullet Catcher, it seems that is personal block, I think they should have made it like the DH Shield of Courage directional AOE block so it has more group oriented 'ou kitten' button for PVE. To be a good support you kinda need a Damage denial skill that has easy access on reasonable slot and cd, Ele has auras and Gale , Guardian has all sorts of bubbles even Necro has Corrosive Poison cloud. Warrior has WOJ and Electric Fence and both are not exactly Support material.
  8. I think Anet should add the portal scrolls as Map UI functionality.
  9. That is interesting point since the pvp activity games like mad inquisition and snowball mayham don't have issue with dropping 40 people in a game. So there is a way , but there is no will to be done.
  10. Pretty much this , but it most probably this hybrid pc/mobile stuff that NCSOFT is pumping out. I think they will probably stay away from pc MMOs after the trash fire that was throne and liberty. Anet can always can try to port gw 1 to mobile and switch .
  11. You know what is bugging me the most, this kitten is the same in PVE, like they literally have a tank spec with a tank mechanic and had a rework for boon supports and they gave the alacrity to bladesworn, there is such obvious WIN here but someone decided nope SpB is DPS only. I'm amazed how much effort they put to do the wrong design instead of the obvious one. For PVP Bladesworn could have been Roamer or a Teamfighter, since it is stuck with the floaty gunsabre and could have been pigeonholed there since it is stuck with one weapon. At least it is better then before since you get to play the profession and it has at least one build working compared to before where there were 3 to 5 builds in play and everything else was non existent.
  12. Well I've tried but people then complain that X is too strong on the side node be it SpB, Bladesworn, Berserker, Untamed, Druid, SLB, Condi Rev or whatever. I've had roamers whispering me when they waste all of their skills and die , then your class OP you get carried, bla bla bla. But when I get 20+ kills on Reaper and win the game no one whispers. I know this a /s thread but it is frustrating playing with people that don't even want to try to play the game on basic level, it is even worse if they have some kind of Ego that they are good at the game.
  13. Anything long cd is OP in 2v2 cause the drawback is not felt, in conquest you get to use such elites 3 times per game and allot of times it doesn't matter, the play sticks only for the single fight and the guy is up back in the fight in 30 seconds give or take, in 2v2/3v3 the whole point is to win the single scrim so it rewards you to blast long cooldowns instead of waiting for the perfect moment like in conquest. Also Banner is kinda useless currently in conquest since it doesn't help in any way the position you have to play atm. That is thing with niche skills, they tend to be great at the niche they are supposed to do.
  14. Anet struggles to implement warrior spec that doesn't do the same kitten as core for 8 years, you kind of expect too much here. Without the "OP" bandaids (I'm using quotes cause 80% of the professions do not give a kitten about projectile block/reflect ) it is kinda useless for PVP PVE spec(with kitten flow even for PVE, like it has broken gears and you have to stop and press a button that does kitten all to get a damage buff). By design its heavy damage burst spec, but in pvp it is locked to kitten damage and from release till now it is the only spec that didn't get to 'oneshot' people. If someone can explain how a spec with main mechanic of sitting still for x seconds and then do damage with big as telegraph can function at all without gimmicks, that would be cool. But as long as the core of the mechanics is this bad it will always have some gimmick to cover the clunk. Also tough luck , it is a expansion poster boy seller spec, it is explosion Samurai theme, the weeb kitten beats all the lame looking projectile classes, sorry pew pew guys your builds don't have cool factor to be relevant.
  15. The way Anet is handling kitten I don't have much trust them doing something new that works and if it gets complicated we get Bladesworn levels of jank, the best way going forward is using all ready developed code and applying it to useless kitten, it might be boring but at least it will be something functional.
  16. You can play for you know fun, like I know it is a hard concept these days to play a game for fun and not shiny pixels but it can happen. At some point if you played long enough rewards don't matter. Also at least for me unranked seems to have better match quality since the mmr is constant , while in ranked it volatile at the start and you have like 30 to 50 games of slog with kitten quality matches till the volatility goes away, but then you start hitting the leaderboard kitten and you still get kitten matches. In unranked there is no reason to lose on purpose (except being total piece of kitten wasting everyone's time) so you literally just play for the fun of it.
  17. Another more simple option for dual wield (that anet can implement since they can copy paste from certain other not so warrior warrior proffesion) keep it as is and add "under the effects of quickness gain X % condition and strike damage". Also something something buff signets and make the passive work when in cd when the signet trait is taken, stack some sustain on the signet that is walled off by the trait line and the fact you have to lock your bar with signets. One of the reasons that you can't take arms in pvp is that it does not have sustain and warrior without sustain does not work.
  18. Pact of chains - one elite use aoe globe that does kitten all damage around you put magebane tether on everyone hit target cap based on cd. Flare - works exactly like sniff from warclaw one elite use or something aoe range based on cd. Predator - you get bonus damage or might or crit or something you see invisible targets like the maguma mastery. Even though it kinda matches some relics like tower or the I think it would be better as skills for some professions , especially in exchange to the super niche and clunky reveals that we have now cause they turne in a dead slot when there isn't someone invisible around.
  19. Read again don't skim. There is nothing about condi engi, there is something about power procs that work like condition builds. The engi main bias is showing too much.
  20. I think it's more of the proc bulshit from core that you can exploit on the elite specs, they really resemble condition builds where you get hit by random weak looking attack but get 5 conditions. The other thing is that other professions had similar procs but they got nefed to oblivion(200 damage can't crit stuff) or removed while engi kept them. I think it would be actually better if the procs didn't exist and the skills on the bar were buffed.
  21. Only anet knows the exact number, but we can do some guesswork. You can go to gw2eficiancy and look at how many people that gave the api key to the site have finished a recent achievement and multiple by a statistical probability to get a vague amount. Another is to look at the profits gw2 makes per quarter which are public and can't be manipulated, divide by 4 for each month then devide again with an appropriate amount that you can consider people would pay (there are allot of people that pay nothing and allot that blow out on the gem store) i would say 15 is a vaguely good number since that's the sub cost in other mmos. So with some guesswork there are around 300k to 500k people each month based on their 15 to 20 m profit.
  22. Now you remind me that am being punished for predicting attacks and playing good by blocking or dodging on time. This is what is annoying not the damage its the fact that you can't do kitten vs the current FOTM since they usually can't be touched while doing damage, the first thing that pops in your mind is cc them well most of the cases you can't, the ranger has so much kittening stability access, the thief stunbreaks stealths or dodges you, the mesmer dodge attacks or goes fully invuln or you are a bird and can't do kitten, pick any other profession it would do something like these too when Anet lets them, in the end you take free damage and start playing something that can ignore the kitten and survive it so a bunker. The game sucks when it is bunker meta but it also suck when it rewards failing and doing big damage anyway.
  23. I personally wouldn't mind the damage if the bursty builds were more punishable for kittening up, if I make the guy miss his skills 3 times and I don't get to punch him in the nuts because they can run 15 defensive skills on top of the damage and then I get hit with 10k on the next attack the game sucks , if I get punished for playing properly and some guy gets rewarded for flailing and failing the game sucks, if the whole game plan of the build is to fail and reset till I no longer can defend myself the game is boring and it sucks . In short I have problem with dumbasses kittening around and not finding out. The annoying part is that for some reason Anet always adds these rules for thee and not for me builds .
  24. See going around in circles in the same pseudo philosophical argument is going nowhere, cause you are forcing an your opinion on how the game works which is far from reality, the professions of the games have role and identity which is definitely enforced by Anet so they have defined playstyle with defined gameplay loop and stuff that have deviated heavily has been removed. They have tried to give the whole thing with the bucket of mechanics and skills that may or may not work and it only ended with less ways to play the game since players will always optimize the fun out of the game. The current balance team is moving in direction that changes traits and skills in such manner that they work in tandem creating a new gameplay loop but there are mishaps like the current ranger complaints since some old balance mechanics pop up from old mechanic directions that have been missed, which creates negative loop for the players that don't play ranger since their profession is following the rules and are on the same level as the rest. Also you still insist in extremes for some reason, there is level of customization in the game to create general play styles in a way that it is not needed to create a new class all the time. Let me give you and example why the throwing random mechanics at the dart board doesn't work. I like playing warrior, it has the biggest weapon collection of everything, the issue most of them suck , there are some traits that supposedly worked with them but were little bit too overarching and did nothing , the moment Anet decided we gona rework these traits and these ones go in combination that buffs hammer you had a hammer build that worked so you had more builds to play with then you had before at the end even though it was rigid cookie cutter implementation. Arenanet does not have the Dev time to create exponential variety that would be fair to play in all modes, but sure kitten they have time to create multiple cookie cutter builds for all elite specs and multiple weapons to boot. As for the relic, the suggestion you gave makes the game worse on top of creating another unneeded level of complexity creating technical debt, it changes the core gameplay loop of thief breaking their main mechanic of initiative on top of adding another layer of balance consideration, the general thing for everyone in this case the relic should not define the profession.
  25. I'm not being vague at all, you are making weird conclusions and putting weird arguments about stuff I said. Never have I said that there should not be any customization, my suggestion is that customization should be more rigid as in If I pick up a Hammer on Warrior I would pick traits that inherently buff the core skills set of the weapon without changing the interaction so when someone is on the other side can tell what exactly it would happen which most probably get stunned and not activating some random trap card and getting hit by 15 conditions because of some relic existing. I don't get your whole argument with the extremes where if it is not total anarchy with randomness to removing everything. For the relic suggestions those are trapper runes on steroids changing fields into water fields, which gives professions access to them even though they are not intended to have them, the weapons swap idea is totally trapper rune levels since most professions eat the drawback while thief wouldn't since it does not have CDs on weapon abilities , the heal around yourself seems fine as a mechanic but it feels more like a treat for professions that don't have AoE heal, as in the suggestion is terrible since there are AoE heals already that have drawbacks to normal ones, do they heal twice so you pick them over higher healing personal ones which makes it way too strong. The problem is that the suggestions you make for relics is making them Build defining instead of build enhancing, the problem is adding mechanics that the profession does not posses inherently.
