  1. The ranking system and the matchmaker are made by someone on the spectrum, and it based on dry math statistics, so it takes your rating and mashes it up against the enemy team average rating even though both teams would have about equal rating, so if you are plat and get silvers and the enemy team is gold you are supposed to carry the game since big rating big skills, even though that the game can't be carried solo and here comes the breaking point between reality and dry math. The system would be quite functional in a perfect world but the reality isn't perfect and the algorithm doesn't take than that in account. Then there is this bobs and whistles added on top as band aids, like shortening queues and account age and what not that also break the dry math algorithm. Its like jamming square peg into a round whole, if you apply enough force it will kinda work out but it will never fit exactly.
  2. It is kinda lame that two convenience items are inconvenient when used together. What if instead of legendary tools Arenanet sells shared tool slots skipping the need of clicking the tools in the shared inventory slots. It is the same thing but restricted to tools but with added convenience.
  3. Well they did remove some people cause they weren't being sunshine and rainbows or got harassed to a point that they said some no no word to the person annoying them. It is funny that you can get booted for insulting a hacker. Context be damned for Anet. Like the idea with the partner program is good its just that they do kitten all to develop it and there is kitten all content creators. Ou on the other side you can draw some quagans on stream and will be partnered. That is cool and all but it is kind of a waste considering the partner program could have been good marketing tool, but most of it is wasted on ART streams that barely anyone watches and they even promote it on the main GW2 twitch channel. They could have done a Dev Vlog talk show or something like that with community manager, but no quagan art.
  4. Like many people said before Berserk either triggers all the adrenaline traits when used or it does not need adrenaline. Also doesn't put the kittening burst on CD for some dumb reason they did after the rework. I think they are just kittening with it out of spite at this point.
  5. Well we have had 4 condi builds and their power friend meta it wasn't better, Scourge,Scourge, Firebrand, Weaver , Mirage or Rev all condi and maybe Holo or Thief for power and you could roll condi thief too but the power one had that finisher nudge that made the game little bit less slower. All of them had AoE and were tanky as kitten, I think there were like 2 single target condi builds that worked and mostly cause they could overwhelm you in the case of Berserker or Attack you as much as it like in Thief, Berserker was probably the only attempt of Anet at a condi build without tricky tricks that actually tried to fight it out and even then it was forced into more bunkerish amulets and skills to stall the game. Also when condi is a thing there is clear cut which condi build is the best and there is no reason to play the others cause it most probably can counter them, who ever has the best clears, condi bombs, AoE and sustain wins. There is no out skilling or out playing you either have the build that can win or you don't. Probably their best condi build they manage to do and balance was Core condi necro, and they kinda kittened it up to make space for Harbinger, it had its place as disabler which had good enough AoE, it generally didn't condi bomb till you melt and it couldn't really bunker. @Hotride.2187 Is correct if you want to feel the pre HoT Meta you can go WvW and fight Cele Ele it will have the exact same encounters as before with some new fancy particles. As for power builds having nonsense, it does happen allot, but generally you can tell which part of the build is the OP part and what killed you, on Condi it just feels like fighting a bunker that can kill you after some time cause you ran out of gas.
  6. Ou man you missed the most boring metas then, I don't think you would have been thinking condi is a FUN thing to have when every game is always 4 condi builds that flail around till everyone wastes their condi clears and someone dies since it had all of them at once. There is a reason no one likes Scourge and no one likes Mirage, the whole shtick was to dampen all damage and make people implode when they didn't have cleanse active. Anet messed up both of these that they had to remove the cleanse skills from the confusion table since you killed yourself when cleansing or how they reversed torment to do damage when no moving instead of moving since if you had 30 stacks of both you couldn't do kitten. Also for the bunkers, the most obnoxious ones were condi based since they didn't lose damage when bunkerring. The game gets really boring when condi is dominant cause you are basically fighting condi bunkers.
  7. The problem with condi builds is that they can't be balanced , either they are too good and everyone plays the same build (condi 0necro wars) or they are not good since everyone has enough sustain to outlast them. If you go back you can remember that all the condi metas consists of very few condi builds that have huge sustain and huge bombs of variety of conditions. The way conditions were designed at the start was like extra damage and not main source and malice was kind of like ferocity. After the reworks arrenanet has always struggled to find any way to make them work and always the working condi builds created slog games. Last wack one they pushed was Harbinger and it was spewing weakness so most didn't people were denied doing damage.
  8. The 5 skill is a a dodge dash like DD the 2 is the leap. The panic runaway combo is dodge 5 dodge 2 and you are kinda kittened if you don't have dodge ready, in a larger fight you will get moad at least once if you are priority target. The condi versions with moa are way more dangerous since you get condi bombed than moad and can't cleanse, with the power variant you have chance to wiggle out. Generally I think you can't do much about moa, not because telegraphs or stealth or whatever, but because when it is used you would have already have exhausted your options, since the mesemer builds that use this are gank builds and wouldn't use it when it can wiff. So to survive moa your team has to peel. I like how you try to wrangle the thread out of the nonsense people post with facts, since everyone boils down how to counter it to 1v kittening 1, but the build is not for 1v1 its for ganks and by that it is countered on team level. If someone is moad and getting railed, you throw some pocket sand in the eyes of the mesmer so it doesn't do its combo for free, if you are the one railed someone else has to throw some punches at the mesmer, if that is not happening you take your respawn and back away far enough so someone else eats the combo next time and you return to slinging kitten at the mesmer.
  9. One hour is too low, there needs to be some level of inconvenience to make it an event, if the call to action does not force the "pro teams" to fight one one another it still boils down to asynchronous gameplay. Maybe prime time gets the most points and the dead hours get kitten tier points, idk it just needs something to force people to actually compete.
  10. The only fair way for 5v5 is already in the game as tournaments, Winner takes all. People might not like the timer, but this makes it fair since this is the only way teams will have to queue into each other, in the normal ranked people will just asynchronously play for points on the Leaderboard dodging games. If Anet wanted they could make some kind of ranking system tied to tournaments and maybe something like On demand tournaments. Any other that just involves Leaderboard with just elo numbers will just end up like the 3v3 2v2 seasons with some team having 100 0 or some kitten like that. It also the current leaderboard doesn't work that well with 5v5 since only one gets the first slot, when you look at the 100 0 groups in the 3v3 you can notice that they don't have the same rating even if they did the 100 0 together so the whole thing is stupid.
  11. To tell you the truth , chasing the higher rating is just annoying to deal with if you are solo queuing, queue dodging people, playing at the "right time" but that also applies with duo queue. To be totally truthful you can get at least Baron title or even higher on solo, but you will do the roller coaster g3 p2 allot, and you will still kinda have to stop playing to keep rating, what I found is that if you want to climb the "normal way" you have to play less, when you notice that the games are kinda kitten don't play anymore ranked since if the games are blowouts even if you win, there is big chance it will put you on the blow out team since there aren't any other players in the bracket at this time. Strangely enough Unranked is more competitive if the game has deemed you High rated, because top tiers actually queue into each other and games kinda are balanced out. I actually meet way more titled players in unraked then ranked. Yes there are blow outs, mostly cause people play dumb builds, but it does seems that people do really try harder to win on their experimental dumb build vs the people in ranked that "play" meta or off meta or whatever and don't even try to win. My advice is just try to play for fun, focus on winning your battles and get better at the build you decided to play for the day, you are 1/10 of the game and at best you might be able to cover for one more person and when the game is kittened you can't fix it by yourself. Don't focus on the won/lost games but on won/lost battles and "Did I play this well?", if you did and still lost the game there is nothing you could have done. Only if the game is supper close and ask yourself if you did the right play and could have won the game if you did something else this is where it is on you . Someone rages, someone afks, someone plays bad you can't fix it, play your game and hope for the best.
  12. @Guizao.4167 I think @Trevor Boyer.6524 can explain some kitteny things around the Ranking and Matchmaking system better then me. There are some Community factors ( I personally call the factor Win trade day) that we could ignore just to focus on the game issue. There is some stuff with phases where the game tries to "balance" your rating and win rate, but since the population is not as big as before it is more noticeable when this happens, before the ratings were tighter and "proving" phase you still had good chance to win some games, now it is more like you are the equalizer against the legend duo when you start hitting the leader board rating, it wouldn't feel as bad if it didn't shank you 3 wins worth of rating losing to lets say Boyce and his duo. There seems to have some hidden rating stuff like having a guild or having old account, unranked mmr on so on(which Anet sneakily is trying to address by wiping old ratings, somewhat noticeable on GW 2 efficiency) . Quite frankly the bracket between middle of g3 to p2 is kittened, since you are bound to play way lower and way higher then expected and lose allot of points just because. This is mostly because you have to deal with the kitten of lower tier players and leader board people at the same time if you are just casual but long term player. I would guess this the main bracket that just quits the game cause you would just bounce around g3 p2 on roller coaster since no one else wants to bother to play on this bracket. This the T3 fractal zone for PVP if we compare with PVE stuff. I think that if you want to hold rating or climb over p2, you will need to find a duo and kinda play the system instead of the game, since it does need you to have over 60% win rate to stay afloat and over 70% to actually climb since ratios of rating become kinda kittened and you get 5 and lose 20 or something like that.
  13. It's more Gambler's Fallacy, @Guizao.4167 didn't not have fun and just wanted the Win, and statistically he is correct in thinking that from all the games there should have been at least one win. The way the system works now is more like gambling then a fun game and your brain is no longer having fun but is looking for a result.
  14. Personally I think Flow should start at 100% out of combat and in combat you will be trying to get your flow back up, basically reverse Adrenaline. Daring Dragon should work like Decapitate and just reset the CD if you hit or reduce it to 3 seconds or something idk, so you go burst skill burst and use the burst like a normal skill. Break Step should have longer range so it is actual gap closer and do something else on top, since the skill is anemic in comparison to everything that came in HoT, PoF and EOD, I don't get the big idea of balancing the mobility of Warrior when everyone is doing Instant transmissions everywhere. Swift as the Wind should give Supper speed. @CalmTheStorm.2364 About the kitten Main Hand situation, what if using the Bladesworn elite changes the skills to something else, like sword getting cooler and explosive attacks maybe even one ranged one, they did that for virtuoso for the sword since it didn't work mechanically with the elite, but it shows that they can do that.
  15. The numbers are iffy, since you can't get the big deeps without sacking something important, and going the balanced approach you lack some 1 or 2 k damage on the skills to make a difference. But mostly it is the Mobility creep you just don't have way to deal with being kitted, ranged down or sticking to target. This is the reason that SpB is better, people will attack you anyway and you can punish them with FC, but sure as heck is way more fun to Gun Flame or Arc Divider people. Berseker just pays the Warrior tax since most of the core skills are kinda kitten.
  16. It doesn't need to be flashy it just needs to feel good, like Decapitate on Berserker it is not flashy at all but that hit register is always feel good. Even if Kill shot does bazilion damage if the animation and sound don't are as now it won't be enjoyable it needs that hit register sauce.
  17. Well they have been going nerf batting stealth from quite some time and any build using it was in the crosshair, ask thieves about it. So make threads about how this and that could work better and reasonable, since Anet would decide for you and the basic attack wonder mechanist dev is not on the balance team anymore. If you look at the warrior forum you will see that allot of the mechanical reworks are from suggestions from there, it is not quite up dare for build options, but that on number issue more than mechanical at this point with some iffy stuff in between. If you look at Engi it is probably bigger mess than warrior was, but allot of the mess is on the positive side that covers up the crappy stuff, like some weapons are crappy but it doesn't matter cause they do the dps based on some trait or some kitten.
  18. Here you go https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_battlegrounds https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Player_versus_Player
  19. Even if it is not about the telegraph the Audio Visual queue doesn't feel good on kill shot, it just feels floaty and anemic, it is just not cool and feels kinda bad to use. Allot of the core burst skills lack that cool factor and feel floaty and it gets worse when you can compare them to the primal bursts on Berserker where the audio visual queue is present. DH has Tue shot which is basically the same thing as Kill shot but it does feel cooler to use while also has better telegraph that doesn't look like basic attack.
  20. I remember they that one time they wanted to change it because of WvW, since it was/is kinda OP because it was the best strat to make the zerg invisible on the move. I think when Scrapper was released the gyro was visible since it was an object and you kinda knew that a group was there but they were still invisible, they potentially got the first attack but you knew where it would come from.
  21. Match based WvW with clear win condition. You know like WoW or the original Guild Wars pvp.
  22. Well it is not about being realistic, but adding enough RP theme to it so it doesn't invalidate thief as the supposed stealth user, but also keep engi having stealth that fits. One way is to make engi stealth only in combat thing that they were applying to thief for quite some time, another is making the engi area group stealth something like Shadow Refuge. Making it obvious that the enginier has went into stealth in some way changes the interaction enough that is seems more fair while keeping the themes in place and it turns engi from bomb assassin to bomber hidden by smoke.
  23. It was so fun they gave most of the skill of chrono to the EOD specs, kinda wish they didn't though, eles double D tooth double obsidian, harbinger gravity well on kittening shroud, thief gravity well with teleport. @viquing.8254I think the reset could work if it is kinda isolated the way they did it for Bladesworn, making the reset intentional part of chrono instead of press button spam abilities. @Dr Meta.3158 is right that Chrono should have been a support instead of whatever it is now. If we are allowed to dream up cool identity and mechanics, I would have made chrono something like a pet class but the pet is a hard clone of "past" you or something like that and you can switch places health and what not with the clone, something like Meepo from Dota 2. It is kinda strange that mesmer has kinda the same thing over and over across the specs, when RP themes that you can pull off are really broad.
  24. Well Ben P did do stuff, got promoted no one took his place for pvp, got burned out with EOD and left. It seems that around the time he got whisked away to EOD the PVP got its development suspended and it seems that around that time people really started leaving, like most of the good stuff about the game is dev personal projects and when they leave no one works on it, its like the Jumping puzzles the guy got laid off and no one is bothering with it.
