  1. Cant put 11 stacks of poison and 8 other condi in 1 attack... its impossible. you got hit with 3-4 attacks AT LEAST. Learn to cleanse and learn to counter attack. its not Anets fault YOU lack the skills or are too lazy to learn to counter a condi thief. The current build works like that atm even if it misses one attack the next attack applies multiple conditions. Also fucking up doesn't set them back@babazhook.6805 said: say the condi thief He's 100% right though. This version of condi thief is much easier to deal with than ghost thief or perplexity thieves back in the day I want to play devils advocate and say condi thief is OP, I even made a thread about it. But, I only have shadow step and weapon swap as my condi clear (play glass core dp) and I rarely lose to this kit. Trying to see things from a different perspective, didn't want to be the thief defending any broken stuff. Back when potent poison was 33/33 and the conditions of lotus training lasted twice as long, and panic strike poison lasted twice as long, people had something to complain about with legitimacy. YOU HAVE TO SPEC MORE CLEARS WHEN YOU SEE A DAREDEVIL... or play a spec that has no problem with it...weaver, ranger, guardian, (sometimes) warrior, another daredevil, condi mirage. note: but I know what their rotation is and what thief animations look like by heart, so there is that... And thats the discussion... Guardian Vs Condi Thief. I was mostly trying to tell the other guy that every spec has a way to deal with it, Guardian most of all. seeing as thats the class that was brought up I said DH and Core guard should be able to handle it and burst the thief quick enough to not be an issue, I was foolish enough to try and help someone with thier class until thier consistent tears revved me up to play a full pve DH build with less than 15 fps and lag so bad it makes people warp to drive the point home. Power thief using s/x and traited acro can deal with this build with few issues. Withdraw as the heal will cleanse all the movement impairing conditions on use. Trait trickster and say goodbye to the poison and torment stacks on an under 15 seconds cooldown. Your own dodges will apply will apply swiftness and remove movement impairing conditions. Your own #2 port will apply swiftness and remove movement impairing conditions. That port will also remove a condition on use. If you are in the DD spech escapists removes a condition on dodge if an attack evaded. If the condi thief in sword uses port/dodge/dodge just dodge after the port and his impaling lotus avoided. I also play a warrior that has plenty of cleanses to deal with that build. This is what I call a good thief... someone not relying on condi cheese and can still be effective. Hopefully your post helps those thieves who struggle against condi DD. Condi daredevil is used by scrubs to kill scrubs imo. Oh I use a condi thief as well. It a p/d build however and I find it much more effective as it does not rely on the use of #2 spam , dodge , dodge to do its work. Virtually every skill on the p/d set has its use. A predictable thief is a dead thief. I have no problems with any thief that wants to play a certain build. My larger issue is with people who insist there nothing they can do about playing against one. There are certainly OP specs that need looking at but s/d condition is not one of them. In my mind to qualify as OP a given spec must be able to operate with impunity and will never face a spec/build that can neutralize them.It is not OP it is just cheesy, everyone knows what happen and the only way to stop is to build just for it, but that is just annoying to play the tune of someone else cause he wants to play safe lazy hit and run speck. The problem with such cheesy specks is that they invoke people to play bunker builds, and we end up in another bunker meta after. I changed little in my existing power thief build to deal with the "new" condition thief. I changed nothing in my existing warrior build to deal with condition thief. What I did instead was play those builds, find out how they worked, found out how they were countered by players who take the time to learn to deal with them and adjusted tactics accordingly. Your "annoyance" means nothing here. Annoyance is subjective and everyone is "annoyed" by different things. On any build you care to name i can claim "annoyance" when facing it. As to lazy hit and run spec, what I deem lazy is entirely different then you. I deem lazy someone who does not want to learn how to deal with those specs. What I deem lazy is a person who will not change their builds in the slightest when the one they found on meta battle is poor when dealing against specific builds. What I deem lazy is someone expecting a build that deals well against another power build to perform just as well with the same tactics and traits when facing a condition build. Learning how to deal with these specs, how to adjust tactics on the fly, how to tweak a build so it can mitigate the strengths of another all take time and practice. Lazy people , in my opinion , just do not want to do that. They run to the boards and whine and demand ANET change things so that they do not have to be the ones making changes.Your argument doesn't hold up cause the build is lazy, mess up get cleansed, miss it doesn't matter, teleport out reset do it again or move to another place the poor bugger has to walk to the place to help. That is the issue here is that most professions need to walk to the place atm thieves by design can't lose it is either win or a draw cause it ran away. I dislike it cause most of the people jump on the bandwagon on this lazy build cause it is easy to play and safe, but at the same time they end up being useless cause they don't know how to use thief properly. It is a selfish build that puts more burden on the rest of the team. And that returns it to my point that it will just rotate us back in bunker meta since half of the classes can't fucking deal with it, why would i bother to play lets say reaper when i can just be lazy and make bunker ele or scrapper and squat at the sides and be unmovable. You can't have one guy dictate what the rest 9 should play, everyone is happy that scourge is off the meta since now people can play more builds, but here we go again with the cheesy lazy builds before it was 4 mirages per game now its 4 thieves and before that was 4 scrappers.
  2. Would it be better if the profession balance was decoupled from WvW by making specific Mastery build with special abilities that gives specific roles, like lets say you want to be frontline in a large battle and you take a traitline that gives Shield wall skill which in group becomes stronger and people turtle in, or a traitline that gives Comet skill that drops large aoe that people channel together, or a they summon a monster, or for a scout/ saboteur it gives them way to pillage resource from camps or dolyaks. Something like the PVE masteries which are stronger then professions own skills, since the current ones are little bit on the boring side. Also have you though about special objectives that people fight over, like a world boss where one group can take control over similar to Heroes of the Storm and at the same time the big team that holds lets say Stonemist can build a golem knight statue protector that can't leave the castle and we get kaiju fight of sorts.I know these are over the top but wouldn't a kaiju battle be cool for special event at least, also i think there is a way to implement since the Auric basin meta works in this manner. In a way WvW should probably have its own skills from masteries that are just for WvW, it worked for open world PVE didn't it, in that way there wouldn't be much need to touch and rebalance skills cause something was changed in PVE or sPVP and made it broken in WvW.
  3. There are several issues that annoy me personally. The cc for example, after using stun break and get CCed again feels wrong. Range cc is also annoying not only you get to apply damage from safe distance but now you get stun from there pff, should be just displacement at best, hard cc should come from heavy telegraphed abilities.Soft cces also feel like when one is applied there is no escape and they start rolling one on top of the other so one long cripple and it is kill or be killed kind of deal.Soft CCes are actually stronger than hard cc, since hard cc lasts max 3 seconds while soft cces last 6 to 10 seconds i have seen cripple stack to minute 50s.There is also some problem with some design in some professions like thief and mesmer , where there isn't really opening to pressure them in return from just weaving active defenses, they usually don't get that ou fuck moment where they are open like when necro is forced out of shroud or guardian uses Renewed Focus, they just port out so they either win or call it a draw and run away. That lack off win condition is pissing people off, that is why there are so many complaints about them they just don't really lose fights. We have a problem with bunkers from time to time crono, druid, scrapper now weaver that just ends up boring, people just squatting and rotating defensive cds, usually after some unbearable cheese meta when people don't want to be bothered with hit and run tactics or oneshots. The area denial classes dragon hunter, scourge i will hit you from range and if you come close you get killed but if you stay there you also get killed, if they are strong everyone has to play their game and when they are out of meta everyone is happy cause long lasting no go fields are not fun.Supports kinda feel left out and only FB is sitting pretty, i would suggest per person healed/buffed scaling multiplicator, so they don't end up just bunkers healing themselves, but who knows what it would do to WvW. There is problem with some telegraphs on skills or lack of such which breaks the pacing of the game. Stealth and quickness could be blamed also making it hard to see the telegraph. Stealth is kinda over the top in GW2 there should be some visual or sound indication when a stealth character is close and maybe a way to feel when a stealth target is hit, maybe hearing a woooo sound like in warcraft or some kind of vague hint prints on the ground or something. I noticed that Sight beyond sight has been changed several times why not make it work as a buff like the maguma mastery Nuhoch Stealth Detection for several seconds instead of being a debuff.Ranged animations are also a problem, projectiles just look small and the same there isn't much distinction between lets say longbow auto attack and pointblank shot on ranger or the reworked focus on guardian Ray of Judgment, hard to dodge free damage mostly because the telegraph is just hand wave motion on far away person, some projectile attacks need some big red flag before connecting. Also why the sniper class does not have a single aim skill, like not a single ability on deadeye is a skillshot just tab target and pew pew (personal annoyance). There is the problem with visual noise, mirage is main culprit these days with the endless supply of clones, when scourge was the big thing the shades combined with FB spells made it impossible to see what exactly is going on. So too much animation and not enough ends up the same.
  4. This would be a pretty good solution. Add more options to dailies. Half of the time i dont do the pve dailies because i dont like the 3 options i have. With the ls3 (ls4 is still pretty busy) added to the list my guess is that more people show up.Special event like the boss rush would do better, but they would have to do a sale for LW3 and maybe add some hook to the whole thing like the shiny weapons.
  5. Wait till the hype dies down, it will start doing the so called one time events again, like League of legends. One time done and gone is waste of resources it works on the fear of missing out, the problem is they will reach a point that no one cares when they saturate with "special" events. Look at WoW they fucking relounched the buggy mess that is vanilla cause it couldn't be played anymore(on Blizzard server anyway).I wonder what the new fad will be after battle royal, will it be the WvW battleground games New World, Camelot Unchained, Crowfall, AoC or the brawler type like Mordhau, For Honor and Mount and blade (this one kinda fits both).
  6. New MMOs are hard to put their foot in the door these days, it seems that the way to go is doing a relaunch or brand it as such in the marketing, which should create large enough buzz to compete with the rest big MMO studios . So for that to happen they will have to do is optimize their engine and make tools for easier access to every part of the game and on top of that they will have to put content that puts other MMOs to shame, this would require NCSOFT to direct their other studios to help Arenanet, this is all to make the brand pop out and be talked about, the problem is that i don't think NCSOFT would bother since they don't seem to care about their IP brands at all and are more inclined to get scraps and milk the cash cow till it dies.
  7. It would be cool if they made world boss in wvw for pvp objective like in WoW classic. Maybe even get to "mount" the boss to get castles.
  8. I'm unsure of how much I buy into that reasoning. Shaman Ninukab if anything seems to be dunking on the unfair governments of every other nation on Tyria, unrestrained free market capitalism included. That is the whole point, at one hand he is not wrong but on the other he considers his way better than the rest, which has been proven that his way is easily twisted, basically your grandpa talking how everyone is wrong and back in his day everything was better, all the while explaining his bullshit to the dude that is trying to untangle the mess of the world. Also like the real world there is no right way for everyone, since the only way group is in the wrong when they try to enforce their will upon others. So for example works for the small dredge would not work for the large norn. If we look at the current episode even the system that the char work in is not that clear cut, the iron legion is moving forward and more involved with the world with trade and less to do with war, ash no one knows what they are up to but we know Evon is/was ash so they are not left in the dust and then we have blood that are stuck in their ways. The wheel of time is turning people move on with the time, but at the same time keep what makes them special. Also Shaman Ninukab is a preachy cunt, while his village is getting branded and i don't think pissing off people trying to help is great idea.In the game aspects of real life are stitched together magnified and sometimes ridiculed. The only problem with the game that i find is that after solving the current problem everything is tied in with "and they lived happily ever after" .
  9. Everything connected to the dredge is a parody of the USSR. Most of it is to make fun of the whole dredge are all equal, but some are more equal. The easiest way to not let something rule over you is to make fun of it and show how pathetic it really is.
  10. say the condi thief He's 100% right though. 11. Doesn't it still also not show up if cast while stealthed? DE is supposed to have that beefy single target damage, somewhat balanced out by mark being a big red 'hey here's my target'. It negates a drawback if you can Bind -> wait -> mark from stealth and still have it work with no warning whatsoever. Edit: Tested it (again?) and using Binding Shadows while in stealth reveals you. Weird. Coulda sworn I've seen people cast it from stealth and not get revealed before. Is this a new thing?Well the problem is that the mark says i will maybe hit you in the next 30 seconds. So it is kinda terrible since it is telegraph that doesn't really do its job, if it was actual telegraph like in the next 5 seconds i will hit you and refresh the mark by hitting you for maximum of 30 seconds.
  12. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jhavi_JorasdottirArenanet might be telling us something here.
  13. @Dante.1508 that is exactly my problem here it feels like little by little that the marketing designer is taking over the game designer place. That is why i mentioned the Khan ur helmet. It feels like i was supposed to be easier to get from the collection, but at one point they changed it to the equivalent of the legendary gold sink but way worse. Like someone that doesn't know how it worked till now and just pushes it to the maximum.Have people noticed also that they started to sell more and more armor skins in the gem shop even though they drew line in the sand and it was outfits for the gem shop armor skins for the game, but they trickle them down slowly there so it is too late when people notice. Another thing most of the outfits and armors in the gem shop and BL chest look way better then their counterpart in the game. I wish they added them at least as DLC requiring gameplay so it doesn't feel so disconnected from the game. The whole thread derailed to how the game makes money , my problem is not that, the problem is that it affects the experience of the game.
  14. Isn't the whole point of tactics to spread 25 might constantly. That was the the whole point of warrior in pve for a long time that and banners of course. It is the boon bot traitline. Also it seems that the pvp build is using rune of strength which is 50% might up time so it does check out.
  15. Well pvp is actually not low population, that is kinda of a misinformation, there not many people up in platinum, but most people are in the median g1 g2 g3 cause the system just pulls you there with the 50% ratio and the fact the higher you go the less you get and you lose more points. Also around g2 is kinda way more chill and games are not that blow out prone since you have bigger pool of people to play with. Around the end of g3 p1 the stuff gets wack since it is close to the top 250 and it gets little bit like in politics with the whole ego toxic, fake toxic for manipulating the board by trowing and shifting the blame to someone else, cheesy builds and tactics , it is very interesting but gets old quite fast. For bots they are somewhere in silver, but then again the last time i reached the the top 250 there was a bot above me in the list noticeable by the ridiculous amount of games played, so eh. So all in all for fun best rating is around g2.
  16. There are 13 helms atm recorded 3 in the tp and 10 bound in gw2efficiency, this could potentially be the rarest armor piece in the game and will become even rarer when people move on from the map. I think this is supposed to be the exchange for the legendary gold sink, but i don't feel like it works well since the skin is not worth 3 legendary items and it has a chance to drop only from one place in the game once a day. If it was lets say was a precursor for legendary helm, like the pvp/wvw and it was just material sink collection it would have been cool. But right know there is no meaningful way to obtain it just luck, it is not proof of anything, the collection contradicts that and it seems that it should have been easier to get. The only thing i can presume is that item will never drop and it should be considered that it doesn't exist, so i have to accept it and move on(but it still bugs me).
  17. Like people said the condi builds lack the big telegraphed attacks that say im gona kill you. Most of the damage comes from random next attack application auto, dagger trow or large aoes that pulses and even a graze ccs you with debilitating condition and at that moment you can cleanse and they can reapply at which point the only solution is to kill the condi speck which is probably hard cause they run a fully defense build that stacks condi damage from passive traits. The problem comes from how the conditions are applied and how many types can be applied, if only they worked like hard cc where one is exchanged for the other instead of being crippled, weakened, chilled slowed, tormented, poisoned, confused and end up crawling getting kicked in the kidneys trying to escape. People are annoyed cause one wrong step and the conditions start pilling on over and over, and you are fully on the defensive.
  18. cuz this isn't a fpsThen why do we have camera with reticles and why do we have sniper class? Why are people fighting FPS class with a knife? There clearly ways to do skillshots in the game.
