  1. Really? There's no farming opportunities? The chunks of pure jade, the Shrine Guardian and Jade Tech chests. Aside from the usual mats, of course. The events, which are very easy and fast to get to, all give good drops from mobs. There's also a mini dungeon that can be soloed easily with a guaranteed Jade Runestone. As for joining after event starts, compare the loots you received and you'll probably figure out why. There is absolutely no comparison. And DE meta requires some basic organizations, not just show up and hit mobs.
  2. You can do them for armors as a set, all weapons or all trinket. But they have to be done sepatately, that is have all armors have Viper's stats Or all weapons or all trinkets. After you select the stats for armors, check the box and accept. All your armor will have Viper's. Same for weapons and trinkets. As for Runes, after inserting, select attributes and check the box as well. Sigils, you'll have to choose separately for each weapon.
  3. Combing through the pages to summarize the points that everyone has presented. Doing so will just bring about you debating those very same points with me. Just repeating the same thing. Which will lead aboslutely nowhere. You think scrumsome's summary is pretty accurate because it supports your stance. It is nothing more than a generalization that a select few posters had said...not everyone. If anything, it is pretty inaccurate because it ignores everything else that anyone else had said.
  4. What you are suggesting is a scaled down fight against a Strike boss with certain group mechanics eliminated as a practice mode for group encounters. Eliminating those, it'll just be a straight up solo boss fight with little resemblance to group Strikes and will hardly apply to them when in a group. Yes, it is. And I did struggle to find an appropriate word but settled on that considering your persistence in advocating for a game mode that majority of the posters here do not think is a good idea. Boring? What I had listed is exactly what you're asking for but in solo mode. How would making it into solo instance suddenly transform it into an interesting mode? And they all do scale. I've tried a few of them solo personally when trying to get certain achievements especially Fractals. Strikes, as well but just the easier ones that do not require group mechanics. Again, I honestly do not understand why so many people think DRMs has horrible designs or not engaging. Why? It's much better than than some of the extremely boring straight-up snorefest boss fights of the easier Strikes, which is basically, DPS the boss to death. Erm....how about no? You expect me to go through all these pages and summarize for you? You've practically debated everyone on those points and should be familiar with them. And no, scrumsome's summary is less than accurate. It is a complete generalization piece. So far, I doubt you've managed to convince anyone, including myself. So your pro arguments are about as compelling as anyone else's. That is, nothing all of us had said so far is enough to change the course of the debates.
  5. Bad optimizations as in? One of the best maps for farming. Not the greatest looking but I don't find it unattractive You don't farm the events there obviously? There are lots of events and you can practically spend zero downtime doing events . And the scaling is great for those events. Not sure whar you meant by this Not everyone will view the map the same way depending on their biasness but some of your points are definitely not true.
  6. Again with this question. There's squads doing the meta during the day and prime-time at night daily on NA server. Every single day. There were less during the holiday periods. If you're not searching LFG at least 45 mins before meta starts, chances of finding one is practically close to zero.. They all fill up very fast. Anyone doing meta will be on the meta maps, which will be full as well. So, if you're farming, you'll be on maps with the few other farmers. Joining an unorganized squad that just pops up on the map, expect to fail more often than not. Search forum threads and you'll see many who had given plenty of advice on how to find squads and have virtually 100% success rate. I've beem doing the meta daily on NA servers over the holidays and have always managed to find a squad to join.
  7. By just reading the first 2 pages and to come to a conclusion as you did with your comments, is just as much a kneejerk reaction as you accused those who offers criticisms. There are some who would state "This is an mmo go play another game." but those comments are very few. All ideas are and should be subjected to criticisms since most of them are seldom fleshed out. They are mere ideas and suggestions and even the very good ones are never perfect. With the points and counterpoints, it can be changed to something maybe a majotiry would like and can support. Many have offered good reasons why the subject is not a great idea. That's not to say that it is a bad idea. Some of the arguments for the idea just doesn't make much sense (the same can be said for some of those against it). And although I'd never say it since it's their game and money, sometimes you do wonder why someone would play this game if they find so many things and flaws to dislike about it. Here, I'm speaking in general regarding some of the criticisms of the game in this forum. This may be a reason why comments like that exists because some people may be less tolerant if they deem these requests just doesn't make very much sense at all.
  8. Start with the present maps to make them livelier: Rampaging Nagas through random areas of Seitung which may drop rare infusions, like the pinata events in Crystal Oasis. Skiff races through the waterways of New Kaineng with stops along the way to pick up various NPCs. Turtle races through the jungle of Exhovald Wilds with targets along the way that the gunners has to hit. Of course, the rewards has to be so good such that these events are not dead after a few months when the novelty wears off. As for the expansions, will think of something later.
  9. What's the definition of MMO? Definitely not single player. Yes, there are many contents that you can solo in GW2 but every single one of them provide the ability to group up with any of the first "M" in the game. Even solo Story Journals. It's not meant to be so restricted such that there's no possibility of teaming up. You seemed obsessed with closed solo instanced game mode when there are already many Instanced game mode that you can solo if you wanted to. DRMs, certain Strikes and some Fractals. Wouldn't it make more sense to practice your skills and rotations there so it can be applied when you're engaged in team-play? Am I against closed solo instanced per se? Not really. But as many has opined, it really doesn't make much sense for Anet to invest in it. Reasons? Plenty of them. You just need to scroll through all the counter-arguments in all these pages so I won't bother to repeat them. There really doesn't seem to be much support for it so it'll be pretty much dead in the water from the get-go. Unless you can convince enough players to champion the idea, I truly doubt Anet would even consider it.
  10. Yes, I know. Got it after getting my 2nd set. Was saying that I did not know way back then when going for 1st set.
  11. That was years ago before I even started Raids. Would have no idea what Envoy's Herald would even pertain to. Nor would I have looked at the titles since I have never used any I do have except if required to show someone.
  12. I, for one, was very disappointed to find out my 1st set of legendary armors ( WvW) do not count after spending so much time to acquire them.
  13. Easy to find out if you're mistaken or not. Pick a busy period with lots of LFG listings. Take a screenshot and post, and we can count the number that ask to ping any requirements. Be it LI, title ot gears.
  14. Very seldom are there any call for LI as KP for Strikes. I do Strikes almost daily and have hardly ever seen that, I play on NA server but I truly doubt EU is any different. Many do daily Strikes whereas they would not do Raids, or if they do, very infrequently. Why? becaise most Strikes are very easy and fast to complete. The same Raiders may do Strikes but the same can't be said for the reverse That's a myth. It's not but then it really depends on the time of the day as well.
  15. How much the tail moves? What are you even talking about? The tail always appear on the opposite side from the head. And will only switch sides during bite attacks. It may seem like it moves a lot but bite attacks always occur in twos. Soo-Won will always starts on the south side, and if she switches to north, she'll always switch back. If another bite attack occurs after that, the same sequence will occur. As for killing tail, although full squad will kill it faster, just a few players can kill it very fast. If commanding, and squads are splits into subs, just have 1/2 deal with it (West squad splits, for example) while the rest just continue to deal with the head. It might take a minute to kill the tail if DPS is low but you'll get rid of the Hardened Shell effect that reduced damage to Soo-Won by 70%. Half the squad can deal a lot of damage to the head as soon as the effect is gone while waiting for the rest to run back and join them.
  16. Totally agree. QoL should be in a subforum of it's own. Especially when there's 279 pages and 200k+ views. Like many, I used to post there. But with the number of posts on various different suggestions all mixed together, it just doesn't make any sense to even discuss them. Any suggestion threads with any useful discussions moved to QoL is as good as forgotten. I don't even bother to respond if someone quoted me.
  17. Murder trap? If you fall from a great height, simply blink and you'll not die. Of course, if you panicked and kept blinking when up high and by the time you get low enough, there's no endurance left to blink to safety. Just let youself fall and blink a few times when close to the ground.
  18. From what you quoted me: People plays MMOs so they can participate in group dynamics. Yes, group dynamics. It doesn't have to be doing events with other players. Even solo farming but interacting with the group dynamics of the map. Not solo play where the only person you see is yourself. Or isolated in an Instanced content where you don't experience the group dynamics. There are countless great solo games available. People search for MMOs not because they are interested in solo play.
  19. If they ever do implement solo game modes like that, obviously quite a few will at least try it out. However, judging from the trend, I doubt it'll ever be very popular. People plays MMOs so they can participate in group dynamics. Of course, that doesn't means mutually exclusivity. The same players will play both types but they are here to play and interact with others. As a developer, would you risk investing in something so niche? The resources may not be huge but it'll still be very significant to change, test and tweak. Nothing is ever simple since they will have to consider more than just changing a few fight mechanics. There's rewards adjustments, UI, etc., etc. And especially knowing that the number who participate in Instanced contents is very limited in comparison. I know you're replying to someone else but it takes two to tango. If it's unproductive, there's no reason for you to respond either.
  20. No. The low value items will not affect the economy in any way. The higher the value, the items will be gathered more frequently with or without Unlimited tools to farm for gold. And most will still take almost anything because the gathering tools are so cheap. Items with very low value are mostly ignored since they are not worth gathering, With Unlimited tools, you'd still ignore those items because it's not worth the time to deviate from your path to gather them. Farming Ambergris, which this thread is about, definitely do not need any gathering tools! As for your comments regarding skins, I really don't get how that is relevant. Players will always farm items. If there is no demand for any particular item, then the players will just move on to the next and next. Everything will depreciate over time as the next new thing are introduced. And of course, new items has to be churned out regularly or this will be a very dead game. So I really fail to see your point.
  21. Actually it won't come anywhere close to it. I've used multiple characters to just farm icebound chests continuously from storms to storms and used the "storm approaching period" to farm berries. You can practically farm non-stop but the problem is icebound chests drop very low yield loots. Doing the braziers which doesn't really give great loots either, the loots are often worth 5 to 30x that of the icebound. You can only squeeze in 7 characters, maybe even 8 if you're lucky - torch availability and/or following others who had melted the ice. There are either 29 or30 chests spawned every period depending on the rotations.
  22. Is there any solo continuous farming that is more profitavle than fishing? Accorfing to Fast-farming , it's the 3rd most profitable solo farming but I would discount any that requires keys or are limited by time (Tresure hunter only 20 mins/hr). So, Fishing is the most profitable solo activity, rivaling even some of the best group events.
  23. How many will actually do those? If just a small number are interested, the amount of development funds to create them will far surpasses any small amount these few players will spend. You can already do many Instanced contents solo since they are scaled to number of players.
  24. A little confused here. Map will not close for an hour after the timer starts. Maximum Escort time is 40 minutes. Maximum Soo-Won Fight is 20 mins. Although that's 1 hr plus the 10 minutes before Escort starts, to be kicked off map will means that everything is taking the maximum time. To max out escort time on a successful run is very unusual. Would you have killed Soo-Won in time if the map was not closing? How many % and how much time was left? Also, although map was in high readiness (I assume), why didn't the squad switch map just to be safe? Enhancement is great but not necessary to win the fight. Many squads do not bother with it. Btw, not arguing that the map closure needs fixing. ------ There's definitely a real need to re-visit map closures and fix some of the problems. What's the minimum number of players on the map before it is triggered? Is there a scheduled closure after a certain number of hours? Although it does occur frequently when players join a closing map and the closure is ended, why doesn't it always work? If map population is beyond a certain threshold, then there should be an automatic stopping to the closures. Bjora is especially susceptible to map closures because it's separated into 2 areas. When either the East or West has a meta, and practically everyone is on one side, often you'll get a pop-up. Those who tag up for the metas often ignores it because it usually goes away. A sure way to check is to send someone in squad to another map before the meta starts and try to rejoin. Usually, if it's closing, the player can't rejoin on same map. That's when we'll mass migrate.
  25. Request it at BlishHud Discord and probably someone will be able to create a module that display a browser overlay that doesn't integrate with the game in any way.
