I don't know why but I can't believe for any reason that after almost 10 years of GW2 going on the Thief can only use 2 weapons on the Off-Hand, at this point even with new weapons the combinations just feel boring and repetitive. So please, consider adding at least 1 new weapon to Off Hand on Thieves, it's all I ask, even if it is the worst in the game, even if it's a meme, just put a new weapon to use on the Off-Hand, since the Thief can now wield super weird things in the Main-Hand there is no reason to limit the Off-Hand that much over all theese years.
  2. Thanks a lot for the answer, I understood most of what you explained. BTW When I mean Condi I mean damaging condition. Examples of Condi for instance are basically four I was thinking on Renegade with Bow and Mace/Sword Mesmer with Scepter/Torch Guardian with Sword/Focus Thief with Dual Daggers / Bow As you can see those weapons on those classes are Condi but they also do quite a decent strike damage in lot of situations, then I was exactly as you explained thinking on going Celestial maybe for Guardian because obvious reasons but for the other 3 Viper, Sinister, Carrion, Ritualist That is why maybe doing some math on the weapon's damage based on Strike and Condi I would get how to distribute the Power/Condi stats on those. So again in my example in some situations I end up with 1000 Power (Base without any adition) 1200 Condi (All from the stats by gear) Or hybrid like this: 1600 Power (600 added from gear) 600 Condition (All from gear) But didn't find a really good way to test it ingame with real conditions (was going to use the ArcDPS Addon but still didn't try it) At least now you helped me get back on the right path with some stuff for further builds and test I am going to do. BTW going to post it on reddit as well to see other opinions and maybe more speecific examples for the characters I mentioned. Thanks!
  3. Hello people, there are several specific builds out there but none of them seems to answer this question I have a long time ago. When building a character, what are the "marks" to check on certain stats? For instance, I already know how well Vitality and Toughness work so I ended up calculating my onw mix of those stats. I also decided how much Precision and Ferocity I would need based on the buffs and traits that increase Crit Chance and Crit Damage so I am fine with it. But I still can't decide how much of Power and Condi is needed usually because of this: At lvl 80 a character has 1000 Power and 0 Condi Damage, so... if I use something like Celestial or Sinister, I end up with something like: 1600 Power 600 Condition Is that worth it? Wouldn't I ignore Power since I already got base 1000 and focus on fully going Condition to reach something like: 1000 Power 1200 Condi Does it depend on how much damage does each of my skills? Like 60% is Power based damage and 40% is Condition, should I still prioritize Power over Condi? I am clueless... a lot of builds simply goes for both things but I am trying to use more noob friendly builds to not die but also to not perform that bad on Fractals/Dungeons/Strike, etc. I have been playing with some standard sets all this time but I want to understand better how should I invest in Condi builds, since for Power builds it is EZ PZ, just go Atk Crit and you are done, but on the Condi builds I used to play almost full Condi/Tough/Vit/ while I see now a lot of builds stating to still put A LOT of emphasis on Power but not explanation of how the Power/Condi ratio should be handled. So please I ask your help to understand that and finally rework my character's builds (again).

Thanks a lot, I am playing mostly PvE and Fractals/Dungeons, planning to play Strike Missions often Also I play PvP (not WvW), but a lot less usually and with other class I feel more comfortable to play with for now (I left the game competitively a long time ago and I am coming back with some friends)

Hello people, I've been already doing some research BUT I honestly ended up here for a definitive answer about this matter: I play with 2 Mesmers since years ago and I always liked more Pistol instead of Sword for Off Hand but... no matter how many tests I run or info I check, the Sword is superior and I have no clue if I am missing something because I don't see why the difference is so huge. This is all I found as pro and cons when checking and testing: Pistol Off-Hand Pros: - Ranged Phantasmal Duelist, hits hard - Nice CC on Magic Bullet Cons: - Ranged attacks can be blocked by terrain - A lot of cooldown on both skills Sword Off-Hand Pros: - Mele Phantasmal Swordsman, hits like a truck - Block on Illusionary Riposte or CC on Counter Blade Cons: - Phantasm need to get close but run like mad and leaps - You either Block or Daze with Skill4 but not both (IIRC) Every test I run the Sword is better overall because of damage or utility and mainly because the CD on the Pistol skills are way higher than the ones on the Sword skills (20 and 25 for Pistol vs 15 and 12 for Sword) Am I missing something that puts some weight on the Off-Hand Pistol for Mesmer? I know there are some traits about bleed that Phantasmal Duelist can trigger but man the Phantasmal Swordsman always is better, more spamable and gives might as well. I feel like I am handicapping myself when going for Pistol instead of Sword most of the time and I want to get the best of it, so I am here asking for advice. Please people, I need your opinion, thanks.

I am not sure if it is or not a bug BUT... the interrupts and disable you perform with your Pet doesn't count toward some of the traits, specially the one giving Quickness/Stability and the other reducing by 4 seconds the cooldown of skills. I would like to know if that is intentional or not, because there is a reason I would main or not some pets based on it.

I only want to point few things: TrollingDemigod.3041 , with that nick it is hard to take someone seriously, and reading his post it seems he is really trolling Grimjack.8130, I agree on almost everything you said, also those videos showed me how bad I am at the game One of the things people seem to forget is how hard Catalyst can carry a party now with the Jade Spheres, kitten it is absurd, I already watched all those "solo stuff" and looks insane but it is even more incredible having one to support whatever you need in a party with perma Protec/Might/Quickness while also doing a lot of damage. The concept of the Elite feels good, maybe the Hammer is not for everyone, I must admit I don't like a lot so I was using other things (like Dagger/Focus or Scepter/Dagger from behind party), if someone doesn't like the Hammer he can skip it, an Elite Spec that forces you to use only the new weapon is a fail to me, and Catalyst isn't the case thankfully. Other thing is Elite Specs are a way to use the character in a different way, they are not a fuking power creep as some crubs want to believe or want it to be (thanks Anet), I've been playing Core Ranger and Core Warrior until today since years and finally I will go Untamed with Ranger and still use Core Warrior because none of the Elites fit my gameplay/feel with the proffession. Compared to how the previous Beta was this is incredible, I already play Weaver and Tempest and I am thinking of changing Tempest for Catalyst specially for how good it will be in a lot of content for team play. Again the Hammer weapon is option but doesn't feel as bad as people said, and it really has few good skills for sustain/survival
  9. Wait is this a new thread? I was looking for exactly this issue and suggestions from the players. Honestly yeah the Summon is the best if you for Glyph base build, otherwise anything feels terribad, the Tornado si sooooo situational that I think it is worthless unless I want to break some defiant bar within 15 seconds being "kind of safe" (the skill also raises 1000 VIT but meh, the cooldown and the 15 seconds doing almost no damage is stupid IMO unless you are with a ranged class in your party and he abuses the knockdowns) Even on the Elite Specs the Elite Skills feel underwhelming... except maybe for PvP but for PvE I would change any day all of them (except Summon) for a Utility skill

Ok... seriously, please revert the Initiative gain nerf AND don't reduce the Initiative for Specter, instead increase the amount needed for the Scepter skills and you will be good, at this point going without Trickery traits feel like the worse thing in the game. Regardless all the other nerf/buff complains and utility I think this is something Anet should address because it is feeling even worse than core Thief for going solo

Not sure if a bug or not but I am BARELY seeing the silhouettes of the animals inside the Jade Spheres when using Shaders in Medium or High, and I know it sounds silly but that was the main reason I liked this spec compared to Tempest lol I find it kind of weird changing the Shaders option to Low to be able to see the animation basically, so I think this should be a bug, as worse as the quality of shaders is the better the picture is shown and barely visible when using shaders in high
  13. I don't think it is a bad idea on how the concept was made but I am happy with Scepter/Dagger so I don't really care, as long as the Elite Spec doesn't force you into using that weapon I think they can add whichever they want

There is a bug with the mounts, if you are in "Shadow Shroud" and use the "Consume Shadows" Trait what happens is that you always consume all of your remaining energy while leavnig Shadow Shroud for healing, etc, BUT if you instead of leaving it simply "Mount" after a battle you exit Shadow Shroud while keeping all the remaining Energy. I wish you could exit while OUT OF COMBAT and keep your energy, so the Trait only activates when engaged in combat and it could work like the actual bug with the mounts but I know it is not gonna happen =/ Already reported this in the Bug Thread tho...
  15. Can you upload the video to YT or something? I am feeling the initiative generation slower as well but I thought it was me since maybe the cut on initiative made me feel it that way (and I am used to Core Thief without the +Initiative, so it is even harder now to use more than 2 weapon skills linked compared to my Daredevil) BTW I am loving the Spectre but the bugs are killing me with the Battle Camera again...

Yes you can but it is not as rewarding as other professions, for instance in Shroud I used some of the skills which are useful, specially nº2 and then exit Shroud and was insta barrier + healed for all the remaining energy, that alone was a nice surviving mechanic but obviousy didn't get the best of it I kind of skipped the Scepter at some point mainly for the Combat Camera issues but mostly because I feel it weird for dual Wielding, with Dagger and went Dual Dagger as usual but like I said in a previous post many traits and abilities from the Specter feel quite underwhelming for people like me who plays alone most of the time
  18. Wow, I play for fun but here some people seem to live from how good or bad the character feels to them... The concept is awesome, and the Purple, it feels like a specter and love it, this is subjective but I don't give a ****, keep the purple lol My real issues are: 1 - Combat Camera Bug = A lot of time the Dual skill warns there is no target, an even the Skil 1 from Scepter doesn't Auto Attack 2 - Solo experience: The spec is IMO really good and love the concept but I feel I will be forced 90% of the time to switch between templates for other Traits instead Specter since the gain from it playing alone is minimal and almost useless compared to even my Core Thief (I play Daredevil and Core Thief, yeah, in two accounts) 3 - A lot of upgrades from other Trait Lines seems to not be working properly a lot of time with Siphon (Steal) and it is annoying 4 - Dual Wielding: Maybe it's only me but I feel there is a huge incompatibility to play Scepter+Dagger, I am still adjusting but feels weird and I end up using Scepter + Pistol or going Dual Dagger anyway (specially playing alone) 5 - Icons/Animations: Some icons and animations I think need a rework but that is quite subjective compared to the other stuff
  19. Can we finally please at least in the upcoming expansion the option to Auto Attack with Granades? At least when Auto-Target ability and Insta-Cast are activated please? It is SO annoying to use them outside water I am not sure if my hands or my keyboard will break first. At least Bombs somehow works if you are close to the target but Grandes are so stressful to use or tiresome to spam 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 when I could use that time moving an using other options from my belt before feeling every half second I don't press 1 I am losing damage output and also feeling frustrated and geting my wrist and fingers hurt? I searched so many threads about this same request and not even a single Anet mention about it.

  21. Nope, I installed it in C:/GuildWars2 in the root of the SSD hahaha, and as I said, it worked without trouble until.... Wednesday I think or Tuesday, then this happened, tried few days to solve it alone but couldn't do it so I am asking here for help
  22. Nope, don't have that and just in case I searched for the file in the whole folder/disk with no results, so I am clean I suppose (?)Also like I said, I tried to install it all over again in a new folder and even the installer does the same...

Hello, I'be been playing GW2 since July without any trouble until this week... the Launcher simply won't launchI just try to open it and nothing shows up, not even a crash message on the 64 bit Exe, but in the Task Manager I see the game "running" and eating 25% of my CPU, let it be for like 1 hour and then forced it to end the task, tried again with no new results (repeated times) I then tried to run the 32 Bits client and it throws a crash error, like dafuq? Nevermind, let's try to use the " - repair" adition to the link, nothing changes... then again I thought "Ok, let's download again the Client and try to install it clean in a new folder", guess what? Nothing happens, or better said, the same happens, it is like downloading few files in the Installer folder without showing a single thing/screen/patcher/client but after those files are downloaded (like 29 Mb only) it stays as a running process hidden in the background that can only be detected by the Task Manager and I need to finish it (after hours of letting it trying to download stuff) At this point I have no idea on what to do, my PC is a I5 8400 with a nVidia GTX 750 TI and I didn't update the OS (Win10) neither the Drivers, both the OS and the Game are in an almost new 240 Crucial SSD so there shouldn't be any trouble with it I have no idea what is happening, is there anything I can do to provide useful info about it? Do you need the 32 Bit crash report? Since I always played with the 64 Bit client I don't even know if the crash message is normal for it or old or whatever since I never launched it, but I have no clue on how to solve this and I want to play please =/ I already searched on the forums and googled it (there is where I got the -repair command which didn't work) but I didn't found any more useful info, so I ask for your help and sorry about wasting your time but I will be grateful on any answer (even the trolling ones, at this point I am taking it with laughs)

Yeah me too, I usually can play with 200 ping (180-210) but it was insane trying to play with 600 as media and lag spikes with 1k ping, I thought it was only me until I found people dead in the map and asked them thinking they died because the same reason I did... and came here to check if this was an already reported issue from maintainance or something like that
