  1. Check out Lord Hizen on youtube. He has a condi holosmith build that is quite fun. I prefer it to power scrapper.
  2. Hey, I was looking through the armors on the wiki page when I ran into someone famous. Am I the only one getting Sid from Ice Age vibes?!? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Bear_Ceremonial_armor_asura_female_front.jpg
  3. Just wanted to give an update. He is enjoying the hunter, but prefers playing with a greatsword. Instead of leveling with him, I am babysitting him with my Scrapper for the medic and bulwark gyro. I am underpowering myself by using a flamethrower so things doesn't die instantly. If we do run into group event we can duo it at least if I am on my scrapper. We spent a few hours today just taming pets for him. He loved it.
  4. P.S. I will starting at level 1 with him, so elite specs is out of the question for now, so please keep that in mind when you make a recommendation. Thank you in advance
  5. Hey, My son (special needs) asked to play GW2 with me. I have created a free account and helped him start a Ranger. I am going to level with him, so I am wondering what support character should I create to make his playing experience as smooth as possible? I was thinking of Guardian because of the heals, but I am open to other proffs since my goal is to make his experience easier and smoother.
  6. With the help of a kind player, I managed to sort out my engineer and now have a really badass chargineer scrapper. While the person was helping me get the HP's, they mentioned that another option for the type of gameplay that I was looking for was Revenant. I really prefer the bruiser, facetanking, almost immortal gameplay. I understand that this normally comes at the cost of lower dps, and I am fine with that. So my question is aimed at the people who have played both scrapper and revenant(herald it would seem)... What is better/easier at solo open world? With my current life situation, and I can only play casually, so playing with other people is hard to do at the best of times.
  7. I played at the start of the covid pandemic, and after a really hard time got my Engineer to 80. I started working on map completion and used the hero points I got to unlock and learn Holo. I started playing again a few days ago and decided to instead go scrapper. That was a huge mistake unfortunately. My engineer is now extremely underpowered that I have finally gotten to the expansions/living world. It is really hard to kill things, and I die very easily, even with Dire equipment. To be honest, if there isnt a way to fix this, my alternatives to is delete the character or stop playing again. I hope you can give me a possible solution on how to reset the hero points I have spent somehow.
  8. Sorry for the second post, I am unable to edit OP... I should mention that I work a really stressful sales job, have a special needs child, so I play this game as a way to de stress after a 16 hour day of work and child care. A character that is low maintenance, yet strong is what I am looking for.
  9. As the title mentions, what (in your opinion) is better between Revenant and Guardian? I have both expansions, so the elite spec isn't a problem... I am playing both at the moment, and I enjoy both. Guardian seems to be great at AoE, ok at survivabilityRevenant seems to be ok at AoE, and great at survivability. I tried other proffs. I didn't enjoy Necro (Reaper) playstyle much, Ranger was fun, but I feel that the damage and survivability is a bith lacking
  10. Your logic is flawed. If we use your argument that more people are playing during quarantine, then it stands to reason that it is a more casual player base which does not want to invest the time and effort required to do crafting in a serious way. So more people are getting mats during normal gameplay, and the amount of crafters is roughly the same as it was before quarantine. So it is a simple matter of oversupply of materials right now. I know that people tend to hate of 'filthy casuals' but not everyone has the time, or inclination, of making GW2 a second career.
  11. Hey all I am still new to the game, and have been trying out a few classes to see what I enjoy playing. I have come to realize that what I am experience while leveling will not necessarily be a good reflection of what I am going to experience at level 80 with the specializations (Guardian: Dragon Hunter being a prime example). So I thought I would ask you veterans: What in your opinion is the most well rounded/balanced class out there? My main interests would be solo world/story, WvW and maybe the occasional pve. It does not matter if a class is too complex or not newbie friendly. The leveling process does not seem to be a reflection of the class at 80, and I reckon by leveling a complex class I would at least gain a good general understanding by the time I am 80 and unlocking the specializations.
  12. I am sorry if my question did not seem clear enough. How is a level 4 Engineer able to use a turret? I cant find any way to use it myself.
  13. Hey there, Thanks for reading and my apologies if this is a really dumb question... I just started playing this game and I decided to try engineer as my first profession for now. I do see people do not recommend this for new players, however Engineer is the class that most interests me. One thing that struck me is the extremely low damage output. At the same time I created a necro that seems to kill things much much faster than the engineer. I understand that engineer is a complex class, but so far I do not even have a full action bar yet so I do not think I have gotten to the complex part yet. When I was playing the necro a few minutes ago I saw a level 4 engineer put down a turret, and I realized that I must have played engineer completely wrong. I have looked at my character and I do not see a turret skill at all. What am I missing?
