  1. Don't you play with KREW?? You and NEW had a map Q of 60 players nuthugging each other two days ago fighting Shw and OP in one of the alpine BLs. Imagine complaining about blobs when you yourself are running in a blob. It's just your blob is made of two guilds running 30 players each.

  3. Oh and if you mean you want YOUR character to turn around while casting there is an about face key option in the keybinds you can set it up and it will instantly make your character turn around when the key is pressed
  4. I think you mean "steal" Thief's have a skill called Steal and it will interrupt any skills you are casting. There are more mechanic details but you can read up on it on the wiki or roll a thief and play with it in the pvp lobby at max level to test its skills and profession mechanics.
  5. Terrible weapon. Auto attack speed is slower than engi rifle autos and they're all single target, engi pistol autos hit 5 targets at least compared to ele pistol. OH and no piercing lmao trash weapon The dash on air 3 dashes for the distance you move in a single dodge while having less evade time!! Compare that to the warrior dash on staff right now. Heck dagger fire 3 and earth 3 dashes are better than this. The bullet mechanic is TERRIBLE and so time consuming to set up especially since you only get them on skills 2, 3. Water 3 improves movement speed by 33% so like.. swiftness but worse since its only on the field and it lasts for like just 4 seconds? Not even surprised by how clunky and bad it is. At least give us access to new condis if the weapon isn't going to do much except be worse than everything else we already have on Ele WHILE being single target. Maybe I dunno add torment/poison/confusion access on pistol??

  7. Just came here to vent a bit. FIX YOUR kittenING GAME ANET. WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER kitten EXPANSION IF YOU CAN'T ADDRESS THE ALREADY PRESENT ISSUES. Skill lag actively KILLS the joy in wvw. Skill lag used to be an issue with 3 way omni blobs on reset nights but now it seems be to an ever present problem anytime you have 30 people in the vicinity on any map at any time.
  8. watch them buff long kitten cast time staff 2 in air, earth and water and nerf lava font and meteors again because they have never played staff ele and will never play staff ele... The devs last logged into wvw maybe i dunno a decade ago... Melted to meteors and to this day remain traumatized or something. Nothing else explains the nerfs to meteor shower and staff
  9. Can we PLEASE have the original meteor shower back or maybe remove the root on casting on meteor showers... It is a skill that hits like a wet noodle now compared to how difficult and risky it is to execute. Staff is already dogshit everywhere.
  10. I love how they NERFED elementalist fury uptime (and overall dps) by that ridiculous internal cooldown on raging storm. It was an amazing trait before the patch and allowed dps builds like lightning rod and fresh air to have near 100% fury uptime (builds which did not need any nerfs anyway). Now it is dog kitten. LMAO group fury for 4 secs on 8 secs ICD that only procs when an ele crits.. Why....WHY???? You had NO reason to make it group fury. NO one asked for fury sharing crap on elementalist as a form of "support".. ridiculous. First the nerf to meteor shower in last patch for no reason, and now this nerf. AHMAZING.

  12. Are we all ignoring the raging storm nerf? before there was just a 1sec gap between having fury and and the ICD (2secs of fury, 3 secs ICD). now that's a 4 secs of fury but 8 secs of ICD??? Yea let me land a kittening crit so my team can get some fury every 4 secs... That's a very reliable way to support my team *facepalm*.

  14. And, please add a mechanism for us to move the jade sphere fields with us like and engi can move gyro wells with them. Remove all damage from them if needed but make them move with the players or allow us to relocate them..Right now they get wasted in wvw and pvp where you have to keep moving as an ele. We are eles not scourges.
  15. Also to the people who are saying hammer 3 is cool, did we play the same game? I mean i guess the aesthetics look fine but it lasts only 5 secs and a single interrupt in can mean it goes to waste even if you spend a painful amount of time going through 4 attunements to summon it. At least warrior only has to press 1 button to charge for 5 secs.. we have to play piano for all 4 orbs and the ending note is a scream of tragedy. That skill is the most lacklustre one on the entire weaponset for me. To top it off, its a projectile.... 😭
  16. I'll just make a few points about hammer to sum up my disappointments. 16 weapon skills on hammer and 0 cleanses. ZERO. Even the heal skill only cleanses when used in water jade sphere field which is locked behind energy AND an attunement cooldown. I have to use either fire traitline or water traitline to get any cleansing or just run cantrips.. so like.. why not just play tempest or weaver or even core ele with a weapons that have cleansing.. Your entire catalyst traitline is geared towards synergizing with combo fields and generating auras with blasts. Okay.. well? Where are they? You are better off using dagger/focus with catalyst at this point. The damage is disappointingly low too compared to weaver and catalyst has no sustain compared to weaver. What do stat boosts from catalyst traits mean?? They're unreliable and impossible to maintain for long durations compared to weaver barrier which is reliable and available when needed. (Please don't nerf weaver just to make catalyst attractive) Whoever designed this weapon sure as heck was not involved in designing the Catalyst traitlines and has probably never played an elementalist. Hammer is completely unviable with catalyst traitlines and has no redeeming qualities as a weapon set when compared to dagger which gives lots of auras and combo options. Even staff is better pn catalyst at this point. Sorry if the tone is aggressive but i also don't want to mask the disappointment that i feel with catalyst at the moment.
  17. I realized I only offered criticism and nothing constructive which is in poor taste. If we are to talk about QoL adjustments to staff (Since I do believe the damage numbers are fine) the only QoL I would really reallllyy love on staff weaver and that would imho push it a bit more closer to the META is 1) removal on the root while casting meteor shower (and piledriver too) Bonus adjustments: 2) Make elemental polyphony in weaver trait lines shareable with 5 party members 3)removal of "projectile" status from Plasma blast and pyroclastic blast. 4) Make the 10% damage boost from persisting flames shareable with 5 party members (this would majorly help support tempest too) 5) Adjust the base armor and HP stats just a tad bit.
  18. a meteor shower into an air overload is amazing! I love staff tempest too. I sometimes run a Fresh air one which spams air overloads in melee for aoe shocking aura before unloading meteor shower. Having one button access to unsteady ground and static field (2 of the best CCs in wvw imho) is definitely great. I just find weaver damage to be higher overall because the traitline offers so much damage modifiers like elements of rage, polyphony and swift revenge. But again weaver gives nothing to the group like tempest auras and even the CC skills are often locked behind attunements when needed. It's just a glassy purely damage build which churns big numbers.
  19. This is such a recurring topic by now. Staff weaver is top damage in open field wvw. This is something that no serious gw2 player who has seen decent weavers will contest. There are plenty of ele content creators and other multiclass content creators that have shared videos of staff weaver damage in wvw and it is utterly undeniably much higher than most other classes unless of course the weaver is kittening up placements. That superpeed thing impacts all other damage classes too. Anyone can move out of the damage fields fast right now with superspeed. The damage being low is NOT why staff weaver isn't meta (even though it is not low, it is high). It's not meta because of other reasons but the short answer is that staff weaver is a selfish spec with small group synergy in zerg play.

  21. Yea. TBH what's good damage is personal opinion at this point. I don't think ANY class should be able to one shot and kill people with 2-3 buttons. Unlike the old sicem lb2 burst which was utterly ridiculous or last year's grenade holo bursts which again was rightfully nerfed. I think Ele damage is consistently okay. The issue as I said earlier is that to reach that burst on an ele you give up too much sustain. but other classes you can do the same bursts that an ele does with better sustain. If an ele wants to build glass burst, they give up so much more in terms of sustain compared to other classes with a much more difficult burst setup/combo so it's also defo also a risk rewards thing as @vilkanor.3072 said. I think I'd rather anet reduce the squishiness of an ele instead of tweaking damage numbers right now. Ele's spend half the time kiting enemies/camping water attunement to self sustain/cleanse. If we didn't have to pull combos to sustain we would spend more time dealing damage instead. Like right now, on a FA ele burst cleanse is Ether Renewal which is around 3 secs of channeling for 8 condi cleanses which can be interrupted easily. On the other hand Gaurds have instant cleanses with 0 casting/animation. You can have just one.. cleansing fire as an instant 3-4 condi cleanse... If you don't build sustain on an ele you have next to nothing compared to some other classes which can also add some sustain in their builds while going glass burst damage
  22. imho the damage part is perfectly fine. Berserkers/Marauders on LR deals massive damage. The problem is that on berserker amulet, ele has nothing for HP. DH/Core burst guard also runs berserker and has low HP but it has armor and aegis/invuln + more heals/ burst condi cleanse and escape options with trapper runes. If you take Marauders on ele, you get a bit more HP to survive and sustain. But like if you want to play oneshot burst builds marauders isn't really fun and won't pop those same numbers as a berserker ele but like I said, on berserkers amulet other classes and glass builds like ranger/DH/DE/Mesmer make more sense because they come with better sustain/mitigation/escape tools while running a squishy glass build.. so imho the issue is with ele sustain. It forces us to give up on playing glass builds and instead take up tanky condi routes with weaver or just play support tempest. I once made a post about asking for standardizing base HP/Armor across classes since it made zero sense that an ele running a berserker amulet has less HP than a ranger on berserker amulet not to mention lower armor class but people started QQing about how oppressive it would make sword condi weavers wtih 20k hp and how light/medium/heavy armor and HP differences in pvp were balanced (LMAO). Meanwhile.. Necros runs around with that so much more HP as a light armor class running damage amulets and on top of have shroud/barrier... *rolls eyes*
  23. I hit plat this season on a LR Tempest build from a G2 placement. Though I did it on a Warhorn and not dagger offhand. TBH Stab is not an issue for LR builds. You're supposed to pay attention to the enemy icon and CC them when they DON'T have stab pulsing. You can't fart damage. Bursts are supposed to go out at the right moment when the enemy has wasted dodges/heals/stabs etc. The problem isn't LR on ele. The other builds and classes are way too overtuned. Elementalist skills are too telegraphed compared to some of the instant kitten or minimally telegraphed skills that other classes can churn out. Only warriors are similar in that they have big telegraphed skills and need to bait out CDs/watch enemy to unleash bursts. Anyway my point about LR was just a tongue in cheek joke that unlike other classes, elementalists can actually trait their CCs to do massive damage. How viable LR is or isn't is a completely different topic and honestly dagger offhand can use a bit of buffing on skill cast at the very least. Focus is just too good because the skills are instant and the sustain it gives is amazing. Dagger skills like Earthquake, churning earth, updraft are too telegraphed to properly use in competitive gameplay and only ride the lightning is saving the off hand from being completely useless.
  24. but yes a lot of ele skills need at least a tool tip updating as well as proper reworking but we can't expect anet to care about it since we're not necros and guards
