  1. You can stack perma quickness on scrapper just by chain-blasting combo fields.
  2. For berserker stats there's also a cheap named armor set on the trading post. Just look for "Zhed's" armor pieces. Seconding choosing another set of stats, like vipers or celestial on your invaders armor, since those are more expensive to get.
  3. I can't even log in properly. After character select screen I instantly disconnect. Edit: Apparently this only applies to one of my characters who's in Heart of the Mists, others can log in.
  4. No, I'm in the "wizards should wear robes and fighters armor" camp. Outfits are already a thing that provides possibilities around that and I think that's (sometimes more than) enough.
  5. So you have multiple people per day go out of their way to send you abuse via mail? Something that literally never happened to me in like 10 years of playing this game? Weird.
  6. The "blacked out" part is pretty fun, it has you retracing your steps after a night out basically.
  7. Ascalon is firmly under Charr control by GW2. They kicked it down with the searing. Ascalon wasn't a threat after that. I played GW1, it was utterly destroyed and it's remnants ran away to Kryta. I know that, I was with them. Ascalon was in no way able to threaten the Charr when they marched towards Orr. They didn't need to "conquer" it by then, because they blew it to pieces. Ascalon as a kingdom was gone. The mopping up and resettling the land could wait until the other human kingdoms were dealt with. If it's such a bad idea, why did it work so well? You are just spewing a bunch of hypothetical things while ignoring what actually canoncially happened. Again, you misunderstand the reason Ascalon wasn't "fully conquered" - Not because it was impossible or hard to do, but because it was completely unnecessary. Ascalon was beaten and dying. Could've, should've, would've - They didn't and they lost.
  8. That also makes narrative sense, the shaman found new gods, they wanted to prove those gods even greater than the five human gods. Arah was their seat of power. I believe it's reasonable to assume the charr would send the bulk of their army to Orr, another force to Kryta and leave only a token garrison in Ascalon, which was already on it's knees after the Searing.
  9. Except they canonically are that good, because they kicked Orrs butt. It's also not really an indicator how they fared in other nations. Kryta and Ascalon are not Orr. The charr armies in those nations were not the charr army that conquered Orr. Maybe they had better commanders, more people, better equipment or a multitude of other factors that influenced the outcome. We don't know, it doesn't matter, we know the charr easily defeated Orr.
  10. I don't think the lore is entirely clear on how they did it. The Orrians were prepared, knew the charr army would come and still lost in a matter of hours, ending up beaten back to their capital. Happens all the time, two armies meet, neither of them obviously weaker than the other and for a multitude of reasons one of them loses, the other presses the advantage and routes their enemy. Doesn't need to have some more intricate explanation than "Charr and Orr armies fought, Orr lost." That is literally it. There was no secret technique or divine intervention or great power that we know of that played into it. The charr army just happened to be better at fighting in this particular match-up.
  11. That would actually be fine, I believe it's more about "I want the fluffy bunny/rickety boat!" than the functionalities, at least for now 🙂 Thanks for your detailed response, we'll look into it tonight!
  12. I don't really think so, because there's not really a reason to play vanilla GW2. It's not like wow, where there was massively different gameplay or there's content that is not accessible anymore. That said, for above reason I don't really see the need for a vanilla GW2. I played before HoT, it wasn't fundamentally different, just... less?
  13. Hello, I have a quick question, my wife started getting into GW2 and she wants to experience the entire story without much spoilers or rather without getting confused by the timeline. Right now we're at LS1 and it's great fun and all, but she gets kinda itchy about when she will finally have mounts other than her raptor. She has a couple teleport to friends and I wondered which mounts I can safely help her get to without having to progress PoF or EoD story. I don't know this myself since I got my mounts the "intended" way along the story path. According to the wiki there is a springer obtainable for free in Kaineng City, which she already has unlocked due to me and a couple of friends helping her unlock her virtuoso spec, so that would be easy. Any pre-requirements other than going there and get it? The skiff should be obtainable by completing the related Shing Jea heart, it doesn't need the EoD intro done, correct? The last possibility I found was the skimmer, the wiki mentions it needs the Raptor Mastery for the long jump unlocked, but is that a hard requirement or can I skim (heh.) around that by using a teleport to friend when I stand near the NPC she needs to talk to? Same thing for the Jackal, it needs masteries, but are those just to reach the spot wqhere you get it or is it actually locked behind them? Thanks for your help!
  14. Looks at Sieran, Apatia, Eir and Trahearne
  15. There's a hotkey for equipping the rod, I believe it's "J"
  16. I don't really have a problem with time gating, gives a sense of working towards a reward.
  17. Yet it feels like you're the one who acts like having a female supervisor somehow makes a male character less "manly".
  18. You're one to talk about projection. With wolf packs there is no "alpha", especially not an "alpha male/female". Most wolf packs are family structures simply led by the parents. You don't call your dad the "alpha male" of the family just because he's the dad and does dad things. Edit: With dogs it's a bit different, there's dominant and less dominant dogs, but it's not necessarily "one alpha dog", but just those who are more dominant usually calling dibs on food and such.
  19. I believe developing from an emotionally repressed henchman of a militarist regime to someone genuinely caring about people and relationships is called "character growth"?
  20. I was under the impression that those were realms inside the Underworld. For example Humans consider the Underworld the realm of Grenth while Norn consider it the realm of Raven.
  21. It's not like there's some vocal outcy that's being ignored, I think you phrased that a bit overdramatic. Anyway, aren't those just changeable via keybind settings? I know I changed my class abilities to Q/E for easier access.
  22. I accept no authority but the clenched fist of the plant legion!
  23. I wouldn't say so, no. The Revenant doesn't use death magic - They're not a necromancer. A Reaper would be closer to what a death knight is in the general sense, but also not really, since they're not undead themselves which is usually a staple on the death knight fantasy. Edit: The mists also aren't really the "realm of the dead", it's more like an "inbetween", an aether everything is made of. Think of it like a metaphysical representation of space: Everything exists inside the mists, but the actual "mists" only exist inbetween the planes of existence which are more akin to "planets" inside this magical "space". The realm of the dead would be one of those "planes of existence" inside the mists: The Underworld
  24. Weren't the Zephyrites founded by Glints followers? Why would they value Soo Won over Glint?
  25. I'm using this build currently and it works alright for doing open world and story content. Well, you have lots of evades though, sword/pistol is pretty tanky actually with pistol whip and blinding powder. And I mean there's literally no skill involved here, you use 5, hit stuff with your sword and everthing that doesn't have a breakbar is basically easy game.
