Aesthetically pleasing, yet uncommon, race for Revenant?
Andrew.2604 replied to Odokuro.5049's topic in Revenant
Sylvari Revenant because it's the newest race in Tyria and the newest class/profession, and because the specialization artwork depicts a Sylvari, it just feels right for some reason, but almost everyone will tell you Human or Charr because Rytlock was the first Revenant and all the Legends tie into GW1 and the Human lore. -
Why I think a Sylvari Revenant fits the story best
Andrew.2604 replied to JekthAvid.1408's topic in Lore
The Revenant, Herald, and Renegade artwork depict a Sylvari. They don't depict any other race. The only Revenant NPC's in-game are Sylvari, Asura's, and 2 Charr's Rytlock and the Renegade Mentor. Sylvari Revenant is the quintessential Revenant in my eyes, and you get more out of the story then any other race playing as one. -
Please Provide a Way to Search Character Names
Andrew.2604 replied to Spiral.3724's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Sadly, it's a P2W feature that's a part of the Name Change Contract in the Gem Store for about $10. The Name Change Contract will check to see if a name is already taken automatically, and if it's taken there will be a "Red X" and if the name is free there will be a "Green Check Mark". Once you use it, though, you will lose this feature. -
Which race is more aesthetically pleasing for warrior?
Andrew.2604 replied to AyeJ.6853's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Charr > Norn > Human would be my picks and I have all 3 as Warriors. Charr for obvious reasons the entire race was built for either a Warrior or Engineer. Norn would be my second choice, because Ranger and Revenant probably fit the race better nowadays. And Human is the stereotypical Gladiator, Soldier/Seraph although Guardian fits them better as a whole, and Human is the default choice when you don't want to be a Furry or a Giant, and universally looks the best in many armor sets. -
Warrior > Berserker > Spellbreaker > Charr/Norn Guardian > Dragonhunter > Firebrand > Human Revenant > Herald > Renegade > Sylvari/Norn Ranger > Druid > Soulbeast > Sylvari/Norn Thief > Daredevil > Deadeye > Human Engineer > Scrapper > Holosmith > Charr Necromancer > Reaper > Scourge > Asura Elementalist > Tempest > Weaver > Asura Mesmer > Chronomancer > Mirage > Human This is based on official Arena Net artwork/wallpaper and specialization artwork to be the most stereotypical race for each profession, some professions work with many of the races better or worse depending on perspective, but Engineer seems to be the most pigeon-holed in the game as the aesthetics are predominately Charr themed, and lore-wise Charr created the Engineer spec. Although, the way the game tells its story pretty much all race/profession combos make complete sense, just some more than others.

I think the Banner of the Dauntless Commander matches better with the Funerary set, but you're probably right about it matching the Requiem set since the Requiem set is tied to LWS4, although, you could also say it was meant to match the Corsair set too since it's the Meta-Achievement set like the Luminescent set in HoT. I just got the Banner a couple days ago, and I love it, I never see anyone with it, either, but I think that's due to the fact that most people don't like this skin and/or grinding 600 inscribed shards takes a lot of patience, and a lot of people don't even know it exists or how to get it, since GW2 is notorious for not holding your hand and telling you what to do, you basically have to wiki everything, and find out yourself.

Guardian. The paladin, the antihero. How it feels? Charr vs human.
Andrew.2604 replied to Kreslin.6832's topic in Guardian
Charr Guardian is all about your faith and honor in your Warband, and I always saw Asura Guardians as Elitist Fanatics like the Inquest. It's crazy how EVERY profession fits every race, I find it boring to play a Human unless it's a Mesmer, because every other race has a more interesting lore perspective than boring humans. Don't even get me started on Female Human meta... just ugh... go play FF14, you'll fit in with those people perfectly. -
Your wish was granted. Elementalist got hammer (Catalyst). I'm glad Ranger didn't get Hammer either, I don't care about the popular opinion, but I'm totally with you Ranger needs a Rifle, and it looks like they might just get it. (or shield lol)

I wish Thief got GS and was Oni, but now I highly doubt it, there probably going to get scepter lol. I wish Revenant got dual daggers, because now everyone is going to roll a Vindicator, and it's probably going to be the most played and overpowered class just like Renegade was... again. The only ray of hope for me is I can roll a human Vindicator and cosplay as Fallen Balthazar, I guess.

Norn is an obvious choice you got Eir and there entire culture revolves around being a Hunter, even if you're class is an Elementalist you will still be referred to as a Hunter. Sylvari makes sense for obvious reasons. Charr have Rox and Pyre Fierceshot. Asura have Moa and going outside of the box. And lastly Human has Melandru, but I don't care because there boring and everyone knows only boring people with no creativity play them. My order for most lore appropriate races would be Norn > Sylvari > Charr > Asura > Human (Only class that fits human 1000% is Mesmer, and no not Revenant Norn and Sylvari fit Revenant a million times more.

Aesthetically pleasing, yet uncommon, race for Revenant?
Andrew.2604 replied to Odokuro.5049's topic in Revenant
Sylvari is literally the poster child for Revenant that everyone just chooses to ignore and they say it's Rytlock. Who's picture is it on the official Renegade art? A Sylvari. Who's picture is it on the official Herald art? A Sylvari. Just like how Necromancer is Asura's poster child and Engineer is Charr's. That being said all classes surprisingly equally fit Revenant, you just have to know your lore and have an ability called nuance. -
Best class for new player to use max level boost?
Andrew.2604 replied to Wishing.8461's topic in Professions
I'd suggest boost a harder class to level like Elementalist, but honestly, just boost Revenant and unlock Renegade and get a set of Trailblazers and beat the game in Easy mode, because that's all people care about nowadays, TAKING THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE. -
Can't decide on a class for solo that isn't necro
Andrew.2604 replied to Hobothesis.6420's topic in Professions
Why are we calling noobs "beginners" now and why are we censoring "butt" like wtf? And why in the kitten are we arguing about something so obvious? Elementalist without a doubt is one of the least noob friendly classes with a high skill ceiling, but many other classes can out perform it with doing half the work, out of every class Elementalist is by a slim margin the under performer in almost all content where you have to work twice as hard as any other class for more or less the same outcome. Elementalist is dubbed the masochist class for a reason. If you want the best and easiest class for all content just play Condi Scourge or Condi Renegade, if you want to be different and have an identity and uniqueness and not a meta slave sheep then play Elementalist, then some people will have respect for you for not jumping on the band wagon. /thread
