The Servers have been shitty since I started playing 3 weeks ago. And now not telling us anything about what is actually going on other than that they are working on it. Is just rude. Anet thinks we are dumb or something? You lost me.

implying they were even in the office at all.. pretty sure they have been work from home for the past month and a half. Depends, if a server went completely dead, hard to replace that from home. If some hardware adjustment were needed or a back up tape needed to get changed, hard to do that from home. Because everything is like in the cloud nowadays, doesn't mean you can do just anything from a console at home. ;) I suppose all their server are virtual machines, so could be done remotely. Maybe the time is needed to check consistency and identify what caused the rollback Virtual machines still run on actual hardware somewhere :) Especially when you need to store nearly a decade's worth of game data for an MMO as large as this one but they can be move easily to another host :) at least I hope they have HA enabled :)Those are just assumptions, maybe there is an entire node down, maybe there is not enough ram available to run more hosts, in these situations you want someone in the datacentre locally anyway. All modern 24/7 data centres have a 24/7 local team exactly for these things. The dev team that are not needed inside the datacentre can work from home true, but is is not just about one code fixing some guide and everything is ready to go. This is a large team effort going on. We have to wait on answers from Arenanet, now its just pure speculation.

You clearly work there, don't forget many players work in the IT business and know what a server is, or as you describe it a big computer..We have the right to voice our opinions in a respected manner. The lack of clear comunication is what is pissing of most of the players here. "We are working on it" is not good enough. Tell us about the investigation and what we can expect. If they say, an important server completely just died and we need to replace this, fine. If they say, a back up rolled out automatically while this wasn't intended and we are checking the database intergrity , will take around 12 hours, fine. It's about managing expectations at this time, if we lose all the data of the past 2 to 3 days, and they tell us why. We could forgive them. Stuff like this happens.If they just shut their mouths like nothing happened, then people will get more pissed of for sure. Hell even quit.

Exactly this, I know with Corona and all most of the devs might work from home, so communication is more dificult, but I would expect at least the devs to be awoken, as this happened at 10am time in the UK. There are protocols for stuff like this. If they are just working on it now, sorry but then you want to lose players...

I am not playing anymore until we got clear communication from anet, I propose everyone else do the same.

Today I wasted over 2 hours by doing the dragon's prisoners. Absolute joke... This happens at least each day for me..
