  1. Im just in the 5th story mission, but everything feels more fantastic, heroic, and develops in much better direction than EoD. Storytelling and the all prevalent now-dystopian-bladerunner-tech-cantha with very uninspiring allies/tagalongs made me beg for parts of story to be over. Now im really invested, even the first map is much more appealing, the NPC's aren't there just to appear as random traffic, zones have a theme to them. It's a move in a very good direction. I just WANT TO SPEND TIME there. I can forgive that it will be (apparently) short when it's satysfying. It's much harder to forgive elongated mediocrity which was EoD.
  2. This might be an argument on horde small co-op game (vermintide, left4dead, etc) Not in game with competition. And event without sPvP and WvW where group/army of warriors and elementalists is decimated by hfb's/scrappers/scourges/FotM. You will picked less for any content. Because you'll execute the mechanics worse, have to get near Perfect condition to do rotation properly, and don't have group/carry potential. Why take class when you can take class+n into your group? And it's a non-argument here, where game mechanics, options and fairness of effort/skill/difficulty ratio is being discussed. Im glad you have fun, but this declaration serves no purpose here.
  3. Yes. Yes. Depends on how you define better. Since Ranger has more Armor and HP, and always present companion-(it's design advantage over elementalist) that should come with lower DPS, fewer targets cleaved or worse support than class with lower HP, Armor or no default Minion. (Before HoT and druid introduction ranger was known as brainlet profession pve longbow spammer.) Then we're coming closer to "Play" instead of "game". Additional mechanic should provide additional benefit, which can be measured/scored. It's almost industry standard when it comes to RPG. From Baldurs, Icewinds, Neverwinters, PoE 1&2, etc Almost all heavy armored high HP professions require less setup, carefulness and knowledge/skill to execute and have much lower complexity than light multiskill casters. Some games event warn you that some Proff combinations/options are not recommended for beginners. Fps games like old Team Fortress 2 and modern equivalents. Rocket jumping Soldier and event more Demoman have higher complexity than Heavy or Pyro w+M1 classes. And if executed properly (!) yield greater results.
  4. Wow. No. Not in any game ever. Higher difficulty/complexity should get you achievements or results if you meet the requirements. It's why whole sections of achievements exist in this game, or why it were implemented ever. As proof of skill to show of. There's always low risk/reward and high risk/reward options. When both high risk and low risk offer the same reward it's bad design and no incentive to try harder, try different things or get better. Why then autoatack doesnt do 30k dps and 30k heal so you can do all content just by keeping #1 pressed? All other skills are just complexity for your enjoyment after all. Yes. Either give skills proper weight or reduce CD's so missing important 30/50s cooldown isn't as punishable or increase the reward for trying harder than others.
  5. Half a solution is better than no solution. I'd love to have this in the game, just to see if other rotation or quick rune/sigil/trait switch performs better. And i don't want to download every updated app for it. I don't want to always go and test things on golem. That mobs on map im on? I can check during normal play. Random champ or paired elite map enemies? Next time i'll try different.
  6. Same thing happened. Same thing. Except during dialogue between Detective and Captain. Locked out of progression.
  7. I DC'ed because server threw me and 2 others out during Detective Rama and his Captain dialogue, just previous to the instance. And it's stuck, as neither we can progress story, nor reset it since it's "open world cut-scene" and we don't have the marker to get into instance.
  8. I entered with multiple players (6?). We progressed through, fought the npcs and the heart, won and: -Some of us couldnt open any chests -Some (me included) could open 2 chests from the right, not others -Some could open 1-2 after mashing F repeatably. We were all quite puzzled.
  9. Shouldn't they have thought of it before release? By actually playing perhaps. I mean it was first thought of mine regarding it, to check Research Kit on cheap stuff. The Kit simply either shouldn't work on items not giving research notes or warn the user it's possibly a waste.

Rama and his Cpt. Chapter 11. After relogging not only my story is missing, unable to go further as NPCs departed, dialogue is non-repeatable and I didn't get marker for next mission... I find myself gliding through the air in weird sliding motion, only to get lifted and start rotating. All while hearing buzzing sounds, similar to equipped "The Bolt" legendary. That would be all. Abandon all hope, yee who enter EoD.
  11. Refresh of ele skills would be appreciated. Some weapons skills are telegraphed as if were boss attacks. If something is painfully obvious at least it could be less painfully easy to walk out of bc of the delay.
  12. Communicators were one of the worst things introduced. It cheapens interactions between characters, dialogue with slapstick "bzzz, losing you-ksht!" every now and then. And somehow, only pc group has them. No one else ever thought of communicating on large distances. The inquest turned to soviet science parody, with intercom buzzers everywhere and large tech. There are no djinn/ghost pushers or over-the-mists-talkers in Elona. Charr have to gather physically at councils. And there's this CIA (I for Ineptitude ) spec-op group using ear-pins receiving orders from some teen, continent away.
  13. Thank the gods/Gods. It's already stretched too far. Please, let someone else come up with the plan, and replace the Taimi Ex Machina.
  14. Again, Taimi's got my vote. Or all of them as previously said. The Teen ( i know, technically she's 23 now) & the Rejects having continents to save and armies who report to them is already stretched beyond belief. Also, I didn't travel to other continent to listen to the same voices with the same expressions all over again. Give me Canthan characters to care about!
  15. Yes, tempest healbot is somewhat reliable. Apart from raw healing when fully specced for it (and most condicleanse comes from shouts/ warior runes + aura transmute= tempest again) I miss the part where i can provide something unique to the party. Tomes, Banners, Traitbuffs, Spirits, any unique mechanic that isn't mediocre aura or change to direction of Auras, promoting more active play. Again, tempest has https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Static_Charge. I'd wish to see more of that. I'd wish utilities would be a little less selfish or misdesigned. As whatever words we use here, we agree something's off.
  16. Most of the elementalist skills are user focused or even user exclusive, with cooldowns not really reflecting that. While other classes either very fast recharge on better skill (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Blink vs https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Summon_Flesh_Wurm vs https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lightning_Flash ) or have it as group utility (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sand_Swell and https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shadow_Portal), or classes that apply party-wide effects to everyone in radius, we get to pop Armor of Earth or Cleansing Fire just for ourselves. As a mobile (weapon evade skills, easy swiftness, somewhat superspeed), light armored, low hp profession we're required to never or almost never get hit. Yet the main thing we've been given is aurashare, which relies on being hit to produce effect. What's more, every traitline has something in that regard, splitting aurashare to multiple lines. What I'd love to see, is both moving aura support tighter together and giving us Elementalists option to support our group. Changes to weapon summons and elemental glyphs i won't touch, because they've been discussed to death already. (Sadly, to little effect) >Let me trait my signets or glyphs to affect the whole party, instead of being always there passively. >Make auras to produce effect on-hit instead of on-being-hit. > Give Eles passive party-wide effect. Instead letting me dual attune just for me, give the trait benefit to group, maybe reducing full effect. 5x100 power is much better than 1x150 power (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Elemental_Polyphony or https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Empowering_Flame) Any other suggestions?
  17. I was there, 3'000 years ago. When elementalists could actually ride the lighning, and cast this in mid jump or in air during fall. There have been some changes, not in a direction to everybody's liking. Unreliable. I know, it's a long evade, it maybe could be lessened. But let me choose how far i want to go. Simple as that, Push a button, then again to stop.   19. Great expansion.Love the mounts and professions. Made me and my friends play GW again.Glad about populated maps through multiple events. Exploration feels great, and even better than previous instalments. Vabbi needs serious rework of either rewards or mechanics. It's absolutely empty.Other maps have champ/HP trains, commanders and, most important: crowds.Vabbi is completely empty apart from 2-3 lost souls doing 100% of the map.Shame, espesially considering how beatiful it is and well-crafted it is.
