  1. Guild aura and presence were used for defense. Nerfed to useless. In the process, also making chilling fog useless. Because now you need a comp to fight off a comp, and if you have a comp, you didn't need the other things anyway. Before you could at least pug defend, fast close the wall, trapping/killing a few. Use fog to snare stragglers, kill a few more. Maybe successfully defend. Now, with all the boons, and no counter to them, you just can't make a dent. Things like bloodlust which attackers use..."this is fine" - anet. What Anet says - defending is too strong, we need to make adjustments. What Anet meant - someone is still defending things, we will continue to nerf/remove things until you stop.
  2. Agree. I'm kind of expecting them to F up the implementation and it be a full gear check, stats and all. Guess we'll find out in 45 mins. Or it will not show the stats on the gear, but still say the names "celestial fashion item of the trapper" basically failing at the intended task.
  3. But why...? Fix lag, bugs, exploits, cheating...nah. But allow people to snoop your character cause it might sell a gem store item...absolutely. Anet for ya.
  4. Nah, just didn't want Anet to miss anything in their crusade to make everyone play how they want (and by that I mean only the way Anet intends, by nerfing ANY and EVERY thing that a defender can use).
  5. Dear Anet, We stopped a zerg multiple times last night by prolific use of these things. It was pretty funny. Guess you should add this to your nerf list. We not only slowed their ktrain, we stopped it altogether. Signed, Pugs that defended something.
  6. The "fun" for me at the moment, is to down someone and then chase their teleport hacking downstate body across the map trying to kill them before they just teleport to spawn to avoid death. It's like a mini-game, that I have to play daily because they have no anti-cheat software running.
  7. My fear is that if they actually make a GW3 it will be a mobile game.

  9. We had someone yell at us for defending because they were trying to GvG inside garrison. Ours. The other guild was stacked killing the lord, but sure, that's the best place and time to GvG. We're sorry we interrupted.
  10. Anet does NOT want boon strip to equal boon application. Because if it did, pugs might beat guild groups more often. Losing to pugs consistently kills guilds. Guilds dying equates to people leaving the game. Anet would rather babysit guilds with boon-sharing, instant resses, easy keep/tower takes then to actually balance the game and make skill matter. It's almost certain the boons are what is causing most of the skill lag in big fights, but that's ok as long as guilds can stand in a pile of 50 pressing 1 and boons and auto-win fights.
  11. Sadly, the only thing that will happen is Anet will suddenly realize that the first cannon trait, in ranks and abilities, removes boons. They will in record time rectify that grave oversight, and while telling the players they are buffing the trait, their buff will be "no longer removes boons and does 25% less damage to players". You might ask "where is the buff?", to which Anet will reply "we let you keep cannons".
  12. I wish they would revert this or listen...but ALL of this is intended. They nerfed defensive siege, nerfed wall health, buffed ktrain boons, gave them a shield gen, nerfed repair participation, buffed ktrain boons again, nerfed keep supply and moved it to camps for the ktrain, nerfed invulnerable tactic, nerfed boon strip, buffed ktrain boons a third time, nerfed boon strip again, nerfed disablers. AND, during the 10 years they did this, they didn't remove downstate, which only existed because the game launched without healers. So, they keep adding healers and boons, and buffing them, removing any and all things that make it so boonballs have to actually fight with skill. Yeah, there is no chance they are going to listen because they do NOT want people defending.
  13. Next patches notes: The karma train is still crying that someone made it take them 30 seconds to take a T3 tower, so we have just removed all the walls from anyone who doesn't control SMC.
  14. Facts, who needs facts right. Their friend is clearly under the platform running that sword/focus, greatsword AND rifle build everyone is running. Not to mention that taking the rifle portal doesn't stealth you and the range is so short he would still have had the enemy targeted. It's "possible" that this could be a bug with the dog AND legitimate gameplay...but almost certainly not.
  15. I do love that they just teleport to their spawn so they don't die though. Nice.
  16. I just fought a necro who kept...not sure what to call it. It looked like they stealthed, but their character didn't vanish completely. They kind of glitched, and reappeared almost in the identical spot they were a fraction of a second earlier. BUT, every time that happened, they were a different spec. So, reaper, clearly reaper, doing reaper things, .1 second "glitch" and now they are a harbinger. I'm guessing they are just teleporting to their spawn to quickly change builds, but /shrug. Gonna try and get a video of it now that I've seen it twice.

  18. The only change that they haven't made yet, that I see them putting in at some point, is putting offensive and defensive protocols in SMC and making them only useable by the team that owns it. If the castle flips you lose the buff. But, this is the direction we are headed in and no one will be surprised.
  19. During one of the "devs play wvw" streams, the 2 devs sat inside a 40 ish man blob, which just stood inside Klovan farming the like 5 people who were trying to save it. 40. Killing 5 over and over. And the devs commented how fun it was. And when someone in chat asked about whether the 5 were having fun, they actually said yes, those type of fights are fun for both sides. This is why we can't have nice things, because this is what they think of the game mode. But, I guess it's better than the reaction the guy in charge of the game gave when they asked him about what vision they had for warrior, which was met with annoyance and then admittance they had no vision for the class.

We literally have people flying over tower walls to take things, magically appearing anywhere on the map they want, whenever they want, or in a lot of cases, just using thief sword 2 on a guard INSIDE things to get in and port in people. We can't even get Anet to deal with that, let alone things like they think willbender mobility is fine and baseline 3 dodges on daredevil is balanced. I would rather they fix the bugs, cheating, and balance issues LONG before they make new things for people to "bend" the rules on.
  21. I suggested this before, and with as bad as things are this is the change that needs to happen. Only siege contests structures, remove all siege but rams, limit rams to 3 per gate. But people hate the thought that they would actually have to walk to a structure to open it. Everyone seems ok that 50 people can hide in smc under siege with supply and remove the walls of everything around it from the safety of the castle.
  22. Where are you playing that this is the case? EVERY change to the game has been in favor of attackers. Even shield gens were put in so attackers wouldn't have to worry about enemy defensive siege. They took away defensive siege damage, nerfed wall health, nerfed supply and moved it to camps so the Ktrain boonblob (attacker) could get more supply and defenders had less in structures. Even doubled the ammo count on barrage so rangers could remove ALL defensive siege faster. Removed repair participation for defending. The only reason boonblobs aren't taking things is because they break in (in 10 seconds) and stand inside farming the defenders for 10-30 minutes, then leave so they don't raise their PPT score too high. The only reason they leave earlier than that is to babysit SMC or because the pugs flipped their farm. Boonblobs don't want to move to higher tiers to fight other boonblobs, they want to stay in lower tiers farming the 5-10 guys who can't afford to transfer to stack, or just choose not to. What they need to do is: Remove shield gens Remove downstate Remove the supply depots from SMC Remove the PvE shrines, I.E Bloodlust Limit area siege placement, max 3 rams per gate, and some limit on catapults, cause people dropping 16 catapults on walls is kind of absurd Reduce player supply to 10, +5 for the wvw trait Make permaboons require 100% boon duration on the receiving player, and make the cooldowns matter, not spam every boon at max stack and duration with almost 0 effort Bring back boonstrips, cause being able to strip 1 boon every 30 seconds while the blob can reapply max duration and stacks every second is just stupid (and likely half the lag in wvw) That would be a good start. Gliding and mounts are not what is breaking the game mode.
  23. Every change to the game mode, every nerf, every "balance" change has nerfed defense and buffed the boonball stacking outside. They have nerfed siege, wall health, supply, boonstrips and buffed anything that makes it easier for the attacker. Even the walls design helps the attackers. You can flip a T3 tower in 25 seconds from siege drop to lord dead, and some T3 keeps in 45 seconds. So, why would we need to nerf defense even further? Heaven forbid one of the 5 defenders successfully escape the 30-50 man boonball ktrain that is trying to farm easy ranks and loot.
  24. Yep, and they never will. Anet is just a babysitter at this point hand-holding boonblobs so they don't feel bad.
