  1. The fact that we don't get rewards for logging in anymore (5 aa each day is next to nothing) might bring more problems long term. As you said, it's a big problem with those players that don't have enough time to play. Before Soto, you'd be able to log in, do some dailies for 5-10 mins and be done with the dailies, getting pretty good rewards. You'd be done fast with the dailies then move on to fractals (which are dailies btw), raids, metas, w/e. Now it takes much more time, that some people might not have, to do just the dailies. If they wanna play something else too, yea, good luck with that. Do you have only 4 hours to play this weekend? Pretty sad. Also a thing about logins. There might have been days when I didn't feel like playing. But I was like "ok, I'm just gonna log in, cause I want the rewards from logins, then go out". "Now that I've logged in, I might just do some dailies". "Now that I'm done with the dailies, I feel like doing some fractals". "Oh, look, some friends are online, I might just go and play with them for some time". And from a simple login, you stay in and play for at least an hour. Now it remains to be seen if people will log in anymore. Cause ANet seems to be betting that people will, not only log in, but play for quite some time. And not only play for quite some time, but play for the dailies or weekly objectives they set in. Remains to be seen.
  2. Just... hang in there, that's the best advice I can give to you. Just so you know you got the job done. Maybe take a break and go at it again. I've been through something kinda similar. Let me share my story. So, I'm a PvE player. Almost all of my time spent in this game was me running daily fractals, different metas, some raids from time to time. Have played some WvW just for the gifts of battle. At some point, I decided I finally need a set of legendary armor. But which one? Most of my time I've played heavy armor classes, but decided I want to try something different and went for light armor. Ok, which light armor leggy do I want? Didn't like how the raid and WvW armors looked, but the PvP one caught my interest. Not the basic armor, no, no... Mistforged variant. Requirements? Precursor, level 100, kitten ton of ascended shards of glory. Kitten ton of games. How hard could it be? So, went in with my guardian. Played core dps variants for some time, had some fun, got to high gold. Then started to get destroyed every game. Switched to other builds, other specs, just to get mid plat and not have the same amount of fun. Said, ok, if I lose enough games, at some point I will start having a 50% winrate and win/lose and have some fun. Have played my dps guard, demoted and stayed high gold for some time. After hundreds of games I've started to get bored and feel like everything was just a grind. Burnout. Every single day, same build, against same builds, sometimes even against same people. At this point, I've got 30% of the armor done. Decided to switch classes and specs. Tried 9 different builds on 6 classes. I was decent and had fun on just 2 of them (shocker even, light armor classes). For some other hundreds of games I've played mesmer and necro in PvP, learning combos, maps, rotation, w/e. Was pretty fun. Even bought the precursors (just the skins, so I don't pay extra for the mistforged). But, here I go again, burnout. With kitten ton of games played and precursors bought, 80% of the requirements for the armor done, I was feeling like I can't do it anymore. Every single game I had to muteblock everybody cause if I saw anything written in the chat, I would have gotten really mad. Didn't feel like playing anymore and still, there I was. With a ton of progress made, I wanted to quit. At this point I would have gotten the materials needed for the basic armor, but I've got the SKIN precursors, cause for a while I was sure I was going for the mistforged. So no possibility to go back now to get the basic leggy. Was a make it or leave it scenario. Took a 2 weeks break, came back, alternated playing mesmer, necro, guard and in the end, I've got the kitten armor. And I can say that it's worth it. The visuals are really beautiful and the quality of life of having legendary equipment is something else. Some days I just log in to just watch the kitten armor on my characters. Ah, and as irony of life usually goes, I'm maining an elementalist right now xD. So, just hang in there. You can do it. Little by little everyday, if you feel like you can't play more. At some point in the future, the job will get done.
  3. When I'm trying to purchase anything (gems, new expansion and so on) via paysafecard codes, I run into an issue, wether I try to buy from the website store or in-game store. Add to cart -> Checkout -> Redirecting -> no paysafecard code window and I'm getting redirected to the cart page, this time the cart being empty. Tried to look into this and found a link, Paysafecard and iDeal Payment Method Purchase Issue – Guild Wars 2 Support. It seems like this is an issue that some people have been running into for quite some time now, one year at least. Anybody else running through the same problem here? Strange enough, when I'm trying to buy the new expansion through Steam, it redirects me to the paysafecard code window no problem, so don't know where the problem is, ANet. Some info on this would be really helpful, thank you.
  4. The problem is not that one thinks that his argument is a valid one (which might or might not be). The problem is that he thinks his argument is the ONLY valid one. aNyWaY...
  5. We are cute little trolls, aren't we? While I've done the molten furnace fractal for hundreds and hundreds of times, I was still waiting to see what the original Kostya engineer would do to me in season 1. When the gates opened and the little dood stepped in, I thought to myself "holy molly, he gonna drink something, get much much bigger and kill me. I should get as much damage in as I can right now". And then he... yea... Can say it was a little underwhelming and a little fun at the same time. Might understand your disappointment, but if you don't see that was intended to be funny, well... I feel bad for you. And yes. You are doing the STORY for... STORY, for kitten sake....
  6. Hello, can we please get Dark Monarch Skyscale Skin back on sale? Thank you in advance! ;3
  7. I kinda wonder how high would the crafting material's price go if not for those alt-acc. Can't be that much really, no? 1-2 silver highest for every mat? Also those mystic coins... How low the supply, and so how high the price, would go for them? Look at mystic coin's price lately. It used to be around 1.8 just some months ago. Now it dropped to 1g and that makes me a happy lil piggy. Yes, it dropped because people many are not really interested right now in doing leggyis, but many people also got alt-acc with the twi prime, and so the supply for those went high. Love it or hate it, it is what it is...
  8. M8, you are so mad at this meta, that you didn't even try to understand what I was saying. I am not trying to imply that the event doesn't need fixing and you should just forget about it and its rewards. On the contrary, I think the meta should be tweaked as fast as possible. But that has been discussed in many other topics and I didn't want to bring that here too. The turtle is necessary because you want it, not because it is necessary to play the game. I'm just saying that this expansion has so much more to offer other than one particular meta and a mount hidden behind it. This meta and its rewards are 2% from what this expansion can give you, and I'm just saying that we should enjoy the remaining 98% of it, 'cause it's pretty... "fun". Just don't put yourself through more of the pain that this meta is... and enjoy the rest of the expansion. It's hard to separate the meta and the turtle from the expansion in your mind, but please do, until the meta gets better... or a successful meta is no longer necessary for obtaining the turtle. That's all...
  9. Is the turtle really worth the "grind"? I know that the expansion was supposed to give you access to the turtle and some of you out there had this mount in your mind when you bought this expansion. Sure, it's not like you've bought the expansion solely for the turtle, but it surely influenced your decision. Yet there is so much this expansion can offer, so don't force you into getting the turtle now, especially cause it's not necessary to have it. I've got the turtle 2 days ago and it's not something that I'd be using everyday. Memes? Sure, drifting with it, walking under water and covering a lot of other players screens is a good source of entertainment. But other than that? Yes, can fly for short distances, but who the hck is buying a tank to fly? Like all the mounts in this game, the turtle has its gimmicks. Damaging mobs is meh... it's much less dps than anyone with a semi-semi-decent build would do. The gimmick lays in the SIEGE DAMAGE. That is the one that makes all the difference. It deals a kitten tone of siege damage. Rocks, gates, shields that would otherwise take no damage from normal skills, get obliterated by the turtle.... BUT, and this is a big but... those things can take a lot of damage from Remote charges as well. As of right now, I've seen siege damage being utilized only in meta events like Dragon's End, Drizzlewood, where there are gates and fortresses. On those maps, there is a tone of players doing the metas, being able to use Remote charges from the United Legions Waystations to blow 'em up. Those things are really easy to get if you have IBS unlocked. Yes, this would require you to get IBS and play IBS, but could save you the time, energy and mental sanity you would throw out the window by playing the current DE meta. Now, some people being new and having EoD as their only expansion and not having access to IBS, I could see this as being problematic, ONLY if ANet has some plans, in which future living world seasons would need people to use things like turtle or remote charges for siege damage. BUT, as this meta has proven, there are A LOT of old players who got IBS and can buy the charges, destroy walls, rocks, w/e and proceed with the metas. There are so many people throwing bananas at the walls, that it doesn't even matter that the majority of the players don't have the turtle or can't buy bananas You want to defeat the boss just for the sake of getting it done now? Ok, you do you. But for those of you who just want the turtle, understand that this mount is totally unnecessary right now. Please, play the game for fun and if you want the turtle, wait for better times when the meta will be more accessible.
  10. At this point, I'm really wondering if we are all playing the same game. Or, how many times did some of you try to do the event. My experience: First time I tried and failed it I thought to myself "well, well, this is really fun. Doesn't matter we've failed, I'll give it another go". Same day, 2 hours later , with a really good group, split in subgroups for boons, no-one dying, everybody doing mechanics "Do preevent, meta, boss, fail 1%. Well, this was still a fun experience". Second day, first try "oook, preevents... I can see this becoming really boring over time... Ok, every region is on high, we've got a good group, let's go. fail 5%. why is she switching sides so often, we can barely get to hit her. Are we doing something wrong here?" Second day, second try, not a very coordinated group "everybody is going down, but at least we're getting some cc phases and we actually cc her. wait, we just cced her, why is she switching sides? and again, switching sides, and again, and again. fail 13% or smth" 3 more tries over the weekend, all with different squads, some more organized than others, different fail percentages, different number of cc phases (only 1 cc phase till 13% in one run) at random percentages, different number of tail phases, VERY different number of side-switches. Finally, 8th try, a well coordinated group, with, I'd say 60% raid builds, no voice, 10 subgroups for boons, food, a very good comm, 3 cc phases, 2 tails through all the fight, only 1 tail happening at the same time with the cc, but didn't matter cause we were at 22% and about to phase her. MOST IMPORTANTLY, she didn't switch sides like a maniac, especially in the last 10%, she switched only twice. Now, the biggest problem I have with this boss is the RNG AI that chooses what skill should she use next. Have you ever seen a run in which she switches sides 5 times in a row? You can barely get to her, touch her for 3-4 seconds, if you manage to get there in time, that is, and then off she goes again. Tell me, what are you thinking when she does that? So you think that the veterans and the guilds that coordinate this kind of events and have a higher success rate than the majority of the players, will come back and do DE more than any other meta that gives a kitten tone of loot, just because it's challenging? Yes, I wanted my turtle and I got it. God bless, she can be fast. Though that's the primary reason I tried to do the meta, I also wanted to beat this kitten event just for the sake of beating it. After that much time wasted, I don't feel it was really worth it. Don't know how much time I'll be using the turtle in gw2, unless they give us something to use it for in the next living world season. Ah, yes, the breakbar. Thank you for reminding me about this one. It seems like is not enough for everybody to use their cc skills. We needed to get electromagnetic pulses from the united legions waystations, so we could actually cc the kitten bar. Also, to get remote charges, because some shields and rocks take WAY MORE DAMAGE from those charges than from the normal skills. I know we had this mechanic in drizzle to open the gates, but this is not the same problem. In that map, war supplies were thrown basically everywhere on the map. It was easy to get the currency for them. Some people in Dragon's End (maybe new accounts, maybe people who just never played IBS) had no idea what those pulses were, what they were doing and how to get them. If removing mechanics from this boss means "nerfing", please don't nerf. If tuning down the kitten RNG AI and putting some cooldowns on her skills means "nerfing", please nerf.
  11. It's actually funny how getting the turtle can take you a casual 4 hours (if you're timing the events right and have the gold to spare) or some hardcore 40 hours.
  12. I've tried to understand why is the RNG there in the first place, and then why it's so kitten up... RNG for replayability, maybe, so people don't get bored too fast and every run feels unique? Mkey, but... You get it that the content's replayability is worthless if there is no one else to replay the content, right? Tune it down a lil bit...
  13. It's the first time I'm enjoying the prep before the boss more than the boss itself... I guess it's not about the destination, but about the journey and the friends we made along the way? Ohh, who am I kidding, to kitten with this Buddhist thing! ANet, for the love of all that is saint, can you reduce the RNG on this one (to 0 if possible) or should i go souless?
  14. You know what the problem is with "git gud scrubudubas" is in this case? The AI movement relies heavily on the RNG. Had a group last night in which we did all the mechanics. Greens, platform bosses, wisps, tail, ccbar, you name it. On the last 4%, with 1+ min on the clock, the boss switches sides 5 times and off she goes with the invuln. We left her on 1%. From other fights, i've seen that this thing of kitten is not a happening on a regular basis. It's not like the fight was programmed to be "she gets to 5%, she switches sides 10 times, she tornadoes, throw in some wisps, make a shawarma and then, if you succed, you win". Nop. So, your "git gud" feels more like a "go rub a rabbit foot, kiss a ginger, find a four-leaf clover" - git lucky. Oh yes, so much skill...
  15. I don't really understand where you are coming from with this, but ok. I've been in some squads for some events and the majority of people were playing EoD specs. Maybe it's just my case, maybe there are tons of people sharing my experience, but I've got a lot of builds prepared for raids/fractals/strikes/dungeons w/e. Niche builds. Also, got some builds to play in the open world with. I like my necro. For quite some time I've played a Scourge build that can get through almost everything (harder HP, champions, some leggys). Got bored of it. Started playing a similar build on my Reaper because was more mobile and, personally, more fun. But every time I encountered a harder enemy in open world, I've switched to my Scourge and just ended my poor enemy's suffering. Now Harbinger came in. A new experience. I've decided to play this for all EoD's story. I don't... really like it. And not because it's not as powerful as it counterparts... Didn't feel like I was going to die at any point, and I was dealing sufficient dps. Right now, after not very much testing, seems to deal more dps than a Reaper, but has less sustain than a Reaper (mind you, on a condi build). The difference though it's almost nonexistent for me. That's not my problems with this spec. Even though it's more mobile and very flashy in its shroud form, it doesn't have the necro feel that I WANT. It's a personal preference. I'd rather spread pestilence and slash enemies with a scythe, than just shoot poisoned bullets and throw molotov bottles at them.
