  1. It's actually much more than three hours; there's no need to under-exaggerate. The point was there there are players that consume content within days of it being released and then complain when they're bored about not being anymore content. It was an example, not an attempt to actually measure the content. And the point still stands that the opposite of what you say is also true; that some players drag content out for much longer and claim there's more than enough content (or too much in some cases as they don't have time do all event achieves or whatever). It's very much a matter of perspective and subjective to peoples lifestyles and you are choosing to see only one. Just saying, what's 'adequate' to you isn't for others.
  2. I agree with OP. I stopped caring about the characters long ago. Most of them joke around with sarcasm or useless banter in the middle of serious scenarios. Almost all of them have plot armour, so there's no fear anything will happen nor need to feel invested in them. The commander is the worst one. Has to get along with everyone. The commander makes rash and reckless decisions with almost no consequences and always wins. The resurrection of Aurene after that fake out was it for me. They had a chance for real consequence and character growth and threw it out the window. The commander does not grow or have any progression. They're just an omnipotent hero who makes reckless decisions and always comes out on top when fighting dragons and gods. The dragons aren't even a threat anymore. They're just a checklist as we go through them. The story is like watching some 80's action show where you know everything is going to work out just fine and everyone resets for the next story. This next part of the 'saga' will be more of the same. I think the writers are scared to do anything beyond the new threat of the season, then hero prevails trope. Scared to put any real consequences or development in it. It's just rinse and repeat with each season, so it's hard to maintain any kind of interest.
  3. This would be an incredible way to piss off a lot of people. Feature that's been asked for, for years, finally gets implemented and then only applies to gear that a minority of the playerbase even has. Really hope this isn't actually the case.
  4. The only thing that really interests me is the build templates was mentioned as still coming.Anyone who's played this game any decent amount of time could have predicted this. Majority of focus on the same repeating story as it follows the exact same blueprint as the previous ones. Off to another region with a dragon, kill it's minions, get more needless banter from supporting characters, take care of dragon and grind some new masteries while doing this. Rinse and repeat. Only now with more focus on some side character. I assume this is because the player-character has become so unrelatable as a seemingly omnipotent god/dragon killer who never has any real consequences for reckless actions and decision making and therefore has no development or progression.Meanwhile, other games modes barely mentioned.Just pretty much the same thing it almost always is, so it's pretty underwhelming.
  5. None. I created dummy characters just to get rid of the free ones. I've got 3 stacks of tomes as it is, not to mention the birthday boosters.
  6. Level wise, yes this is true, but GW2 just puts it under a different guise. With each expansion we got masteries that needed to be leveled, which is not that different from having to gain more levels; it's just different in name and not actually being tied to your characters 'level'. Not grinding out these masteries via exp limited your character in both expacs as areas weren't accessible and you lacked certain abilities. GW2 went about it in a better way, that I do agree, but it still very much had exp grinds introduced in each expac.
  7. Titles have worth?I wouldn't put any worth on them, besides something you want to have displayed since I'd bet a lot of people either don't know or don't care where the titles even came from that others are displaying.
  8. Not overly. I used to play an older MMO with where auto attack was common and macros for skill rotations was allowed (it was a game where you were mostly rooted during combat, compared to this games more action combat). Lengthy dungeons with this sort of combat made text chat a lot easier. I made a lot of friends in that game as people were more apt to respond or chat since they were free to if they had their macros set up.Text chat in GW2 isn't really that great unless you're not doing much of anything. You can't take the time to do so in content like fractals or WvW or even during events a lot of the time without just letting your character stand still. Even in open world PvE, which isn't hard, if you stop to type some mob 50 miles away will aggro you and attack forcing you to respond.Voice chat is pretty well a necessity if you want to really chat with people and that's not really appealing to me. I interact with people all day long at work, so when I sit down to play I just like to crank some tunes up and play. I'd very much like to be able to text chat with people more, but this game isn't really designed for that. Not a complaint, just the shift from an MMO that wasn't action oriented to one that is really curbed my social interactions.
  9. Some dude I never heard of is quitting. Guess I better bail.
  10. Seems like porting a 6 year old MMO to consoles at this point would be a massive waste of resources. They just had layoffs and aren't SquareEnix or Bethesda. Do you want new content or ports to consoles? Seems like that's the choice here.
  11. Because it's not fun. It's imbalanced. It's team based. It's just capture the flag.I prefer open world PvP and WvW is as close to that as this game gets, so I do my player fighting there when I get the urge to.
  12. If a game is more fun to watch than play myself, why would I bother with it. Of course I don't get the whole watch others play a video game thing anyway.
  13. Trouble arises with new enemy. Suffer-no-consequences Commander charges in to stop it. Something bad seems to happen. Commanders team exchanges needless banter in attempt to lighten mood. Turns out bad thing didn't actually happen. Commander defeats new enemy, team exchanges banter about saving the world yet again and all is well.
  14. I'm on the East coast and having no problems.
  15. I played an MMO that announced things and this is exactly what it was like. No, thank you.
  16. I'd be happy just to be able to bind certain items to the shared slots, so when I unequip the gathering tools, they go straight to their assigned shared slot instead of normal inventory.
  17. Woot? :o How so? Simply stand in the center of the playing field and you should have no trouble getting to each spot in time.Really? Try reading that first paragraph that clearly explains why it is not this simple with how the OP has to play the game.
