  1. Oh wow. Yeah, looks like I may have to ditch my glass cannon power DPS and see if I can match my condi renegade to the one you posted. 20k DPS sounds like a dream right now. Thanks for sharing!
  2. Yeah, I have no issues with healing or CC on my condi renegade (though TIL about Soulcleave; I never really used it before), just that my overall DPS is low and it can take a while to defeat enemies. I didn't realize that conditions have a ramp time, but it makes sense now that you mention it. The shortbow is actually main go-to (and TIL about the higher power coefficients), but sometimes I switch to Mace/Axe if I need melee. My gear is viper with runes of tormenting. With the Power build, I've been told (on Reddit) that it's actually an extreme glass cannon build, so I may need to replace some Berserker gear with Marauder so I wouldn't die as easily. I don't know if it's worth it anymore. I wasted so much gold on gearing myself for it without properly researching it first, and now I feel stupid.
  3. So my main is a Condi Renegade. I checked for the first time in years (I'm a recently-returned player, mind you) my DPS. It was about 1,600* or so for just auto-attack. However, I am still able to hold my ground against champions usually. I think it's mostly due to the conditions I apply and the Battlescars that help me stay alive. The sustain (is that the right term?) is pretty good for that build. Gear: viper Weapons: Mace/Axe + Shortbow Traits: Devestation - mid bottom mid bottom mid bottom Corruption - mid top mid bottom mid top Renegade - Mid mid mid mid mid top -------- Last night I decided to try a Power DPS Herald build for the first time. My DPS went up to like 10k* for just auto-attack (while sustaining a few facets). I go out into open world, and man is it tough to play it. I find myself dying fairly easily. I don't know if it's because I'm playing it completely wrong, or if it's the lack of Battlescars, or whatever. Gear: Berserker + Scholar runes Weapons: Sword/Axe + Staff Traits: Invocation - mid mid mid mid mid bottom Devestation - mid mid mid top mid mid Herald - mid bottom mid top mid bottom -------- Just need some advice on one of the two (or even both): How do I increase my condi renegade's DPS? How do I improve my survivability with my Power DPS Herald? I find condi renegade to be so much fun, but I thought I'd try to change things up a bit and see if I can increase my damage output and be more useful, so to speak. Like I said, I'm not all too experienced with builds despite playing this game since beta (and taking many long breaks). * NOTE: DPS was tested in Raid Lobby Training area, all boons on.
  4. Thanks for the reply, appreciate it! It's good to have another opinion about this matter. You mentioned "even in full viper". Does that mean there's another set of stats you'd recommend over viper? Sorry if it's a naive question. I'm not new but I have still a lot to learn about builds and stats.
  5. Yeah, that build was fairly good pre-nerf, but now I can't rely on Battle Scars anymore. I'll try to see if I can find any good builds with Invocation instead of Devastation.
  6. Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I don't do PvP so I guess I'll have to find friends to do the dungeons with. Hmmm, alright. I'll try running Shiro/Jalis and see how it goes. I've been focusing on just Kalla and I guess I got too tunnel-visioned on that. I guess the idea now is to kill your enemy before the enemy kills you, eh?
  7. Sorry for posting a potentially dumb thread, but been scouring the forums for suggestions after the nerf to condi renegade. I currently run this build. I've been told that condi-renegade is still viable, despite the nerf to torment and sustain. However, I've definitely been feeling noticeably weaker in PvE. So looks like the new meta is to switch from torment+viper to celestial/trailblazer, from my understanding? Also Nightmare runes would be good but they require dungeon-specific currency, and these days it feels like no one ever does dungeons anymore. EDIT: To clarify, this discussion is purely for PvE open world content. Mostly solo, but also sometimes with others.
  8. I am playing Condi Renegade and use this build. Although it does feel nerfed compared to before, I am still enjoying it a lot. Then again, I couldn't care less about min-maxing, but either way, it's still viable.
  9. DISCLAIMER: This is just my opinion, so let's agree to disagree. Positive + Visually, the new maps are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Kudos to everyone involved in making these maps, including the concept art that initiated the journey. + I love how big the maps are. Kaineng feels like an actual city, and Echovald feels like a living forest. Gives us plenty of room to explore and enjoy and immerse and enjoy the game. + To add to the above, I love how "tall" those maps are. I think these are the tallest maps to date (correct me if I'm wrong) and I love it. There are literal skyscrapers that feel as tall as the condo building I live in, and I feel a lot more immersed than ever before. + As a music nerd, I love the music, sound effects, and ambience. It feels immersive and fresh, and I just recently bought new headphones, too. I feel giddy just thinking about it and can't wait to jump back in today. + The writing and voice acting finally feel mature. In the past, it felt too safe, like it were made for younger audiences. Now the writing feels a lot more realistic. Yes, that includes the use of slang, some swearwords, etc. + Thank you for FINALLY having tutorials on things like the break bar. Negative - So far, I ran into a few story achievements that are either a little buggy or just really sensitive. Can't remember off the top of my head right now, but I am sure they'll be fixed soon. - Despite the above positives, exploration in Echovald has been frustrating. Some POIs and Hero Points were placed what I assume was strategically, but instead, made me feel exhausted after trying to reach them to no avail. I am not sure I like the idea of certain POIs being locked behind an achievement or a dynamic event that may or may not succeed because not enough people are around. - I barely see anyone in Kaineng and Echovald. I guess everyone is rushing to the end to farm the meta, but I feel disappointed running past map events because there's no one there to do it with me (it's either boring or just difficult doing them on my own). - Can we please get separate key bindings for the skiff, fishing rod, etc? Having them all hide behind a skill key-binding and a small grey box is the opposite of accessible, not to mention confusing. - The whole idea of the Jade Bot is really cool, but I still am really confused on the whole cores + chips + etc. It's not all that well documented in the game, and I feel overwhelmed whenever I talk to the NPCs.
  10. I see no issue with the skyscale. You can explore the map however you want without forcing others to play the game your way. If you don't want to use a skyscale, don't. The rest of us, though, will do whatever we want. Echovald exploration has been an absolute pain in the butt for some parts, and being able to explore more easily efficiently doesn't take away from the experience. That's a you problem. Also, it would be really cool to fly around and see everything from up above, much like from an airplane as you approach a city. A lot of maps in the game are absolutely breathtaking, and while enjoying them from the ground can be rewarding, it could be equally rewarding look down upon the vastness of the world of Guild Wars 2.
  11. With the End of Dragons launch, the buggy rainbow textures issue has only gotten worse for me. Restarting the game fixes it for only a little bit, and then I start seeing the issue again.
  12. I've been getting these random crashes only after the Halloween event started yesterday.
  13. Floors, character models, objects, UI, etc all becomes invisible from certain angles, and the deeper you go into the area, the more things become invisible. All you end up seeing eventually is just background darkness and water in the bottom. Pressing ESC or clicking on the gear cog in the top left (when you're lucky enough to see it) does nothing - I assume that the UI that's supposed to pop-up just goes invisible while in this story instance. Note: This only applies when doing story missions in the story instance in the Priory Archives in Lornar's Pass (main map outside instance not affected for me). Using the latest GW2 build with DX11 Beta turned on. Only solution so far is to turn DX11 Beta off while doing missions in this instance. I have not discovered other areas so far that give me the same (or similar) issue(s). Main Specs - AMD Ryzen 5 5600 X - Sapphire Pulse RX 6800 XT - HyperX DDR4-3200 16GB - Windows 10 21H1 (19043.1237)
  14. ANet did say (feel free to correct me) that once they iron DX11 out and it gets out of beta, they can have more freedom to make upgrades to the game visually and aurally, as well as add more QoL updates. So that would include, potentially, better textures and whatnot.
