  1. I now encountered the same problem while doing the "Mystery of Drakkar" light puzzle. I also encountered another interesting bug while doing the "Mystery of the Raven Gate Ruins". The first mirror reflected the light even while facing away from the light. in fact it did not matter how I turned the mirror it kept reflecting the light.
  2. The light puzzle mirror east of the "Still Waters Speaking" POI is broken, specifically when trying to use it for the "Mystery of the Bjora Marches" puzzle. I have tried a number of times now, and the light bounces off the mirror, only to collide with the frame, making it impossible to solve. I have submitted a bug report, and others on the map have claimed similar issues with the same mirror. Just posting it here in case anyone else has encountered the same problem
  3. Hello! As the Title suggests, I am wondering whether the Mystic Chromatic Ooze is something which can be added to your novelty slot or whether you have to open your inventory every 5mins if you want the effect on? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Chromatic_Ooze
  4. The only profession which can use an axe and a pistol is the Mirage. The mirage does blind and confuse people and make clones of itself to ambush its targets. However, based on everything you said I would still go with Thief - Daredevil. The staff is a very nice weapon on thief and close to a agile brawler you can get in this game. Also like mentioned, thief uses a lot of dirty tactics like blinds and traps and steals improvised weapons from enemies. Also daredevil gives you the Fist Flurry skill which is a hand-to-hand animation. The Hidden pistol is actually a Charr racial skill, so consider that. The storyline part of being a mechanic is more suited to an engineer, which also has access to dual pistol just like a thief. So seems your choice is between daredevil and engineer?
  5. Seems it is an underwater skimmer! From what I can tell it will be available for anyone who gets the mastery, and not as a birthday present for specific playershttps://www.pcgamer.com/guild-wars-2s-skimmer-mounts-are-going-underwater/?fbclid=IwAR3PKwBlVkUscmBZHzMQAfMcVgMfAoCTVFWBjsbvtIT9MyUFGjRZhRP38-s
  6. ^This, I felt one could completely ignore mechanics. Really boring. Would be great if they could shorten the length by getting rid of the first half of the north meta where you go after the tribunes. None of the tribunes feel like unique bosses, it adds no depth or lore or any interesting mechanic to the game, it is just another champ train. At least then I could appreciate some of the interesting things in the keep fight. Even so, the keep fight was bland, I felt ZERO immersion into the world. HOT map metas did this really well, and I think Dragonfall also did a good job of making you feel part of the action of something bigger going on. Here that feeling was just lost completely. Very boring indeed
  7. Thank you so much for the feedback thus far I think my options at the moment are Condi Herald https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Herald_-_Condition_Frontline Celestial Scourge https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Scourge_-_Celestial_Scourge Aura Share Tempest https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Tempest_-_Frontline_Aurashare
  8. Hi! So I just want to give some background on my WvW experience and what I have tried and what I have enjoyed. I want to play something that can be useful in a Zerg, but that I actually enjoy playing at the same time. So I have had experience playing with 4 professions-Warrior-Mesmer-Necromancer-Thief The most fun I had was on Mesmer, I tried both Chrono and Mirage and enjoyed them about the same, but ended up preferring a mirage with greatsword. I was mostly messing around, but I did not yet know how a WvW zerg works, and I began to realize that spamming GS ambush skills and phantasms on an enemy Zerg probably brought a minimal contribution. I began to realize that in WvW to play with a big group you need to pretty much be in melee and run in as a group with boons, corrupts, spellbreakers, heals, etc. Like a cannon ball made from players. From what I understand sticking on the tag is important and you want to move with the boons and the healing to have maximum impact and not get picked off. I enjoyed Mesmer because I had tool to avoid damage, break stun, go invisible, and teleport to rejoin the group. But I am honestly not sure if I had any impact or if I was just leeching kills, but it did feel good to see a lot of damage numbers on my skill use. After Mirage lost a dodge I swapped to something else. Warrior was an interesting experience, I did not mind it at all, but I always felt a bit spare since I did not have any effective ranged damage. I had to position well to participate in the zerg and hit with melee skills and time my bubble well. Something I am half-willing to go for again, but I am convinced I would enjoy something else more, the purely melee experience frustrated me. I do not really enjoy the thief at the moment, I have tried various approaches and I don't really feel like I have an impact on a zerg and I don't enjoy the solo roaming experience either. Necro was my most recent attempt, it felt good in that I had ranged options as well as being able to run with the zerg and give barriers and condis at melee range. For solo capping camps or towers etc I could use Reaper and easily swap between the two based on what I need. I did not have the ease of mobility I enjoyed on Mesmer, but I did enjoy feeling more useful maybe. I however stopped WvW for a bit after the recent changes to Necro I have been looking at Elementalist and Revenant a lot, and I wonder if I should try one of these. I see that both have builds for "backline" and I do not actually understand what role that is from my limited WvW experience. Staff Weaver could probably do some decent dps from range with good evade and escape skills similar to what I had on Mirage. But surely tempest could have more impact in a zerg wrecking ball? I despise Hammer as a weapon on Revenant, would much rather try mace/axe and shortbow or something, thinking of looking at a Mallyx build. I am not sure whether my experiences thus far can help anyone make sense of what I should play. I could just stick with Necro, but would like to try something new. Thanks for reading!
  9. Sorry, yes, 1,6k. Not sure if it is still 2k at full price but discounted to 1.6k at release? For people who don't know what it looks like:
  10. I don't understand why this is a 2k gem skin? No unique animations, it is just like any other reskin, and we have had some really cool reskins like Lithosol. This does not feel like a 2k skin, but just a regular one you would get in a mount select package
  11. I am actually in the same position as the OP, and I agree that I should have probably read more carefully, but I get so many warning about salvaging junk that I have learnt not to read. It is interesting that I based my assumption on the trailers, you can see in these timestamped videos that for the Boreal Weapons they were announced as upgradable in the trailer for , however in the latest release , the Stormcaller weapons were just called a new reward . Based on the info from the trailer I just went into the assumption that these new weapon sets are not going to be upgradable, and it is my fault for not making sure, but I am still quite upset at myself for not checking and needing to be so careful. Not that I had the space to store them anyway.
  12. What is the necro build people are talking about? Is it power or condi? Is it specifically core or do e-specs also work?
  13. Hi everyone! I am a bit of a casual player when it comes to PVP, most of my time is spent in PVE, but I do like to learn and improve, but I do not have to time to craft working builds of my own. I played some 2v2 for the first time yesterday, and it was very different from 5v5. I am trying to think what I would enjoy playing. I see the forums are saying Fire Brand and Core Necro are out of control in terms of balance. Is the Firebrand build people are talking about this one? - https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Firebrand_-_Symbolbrand I struggled to get good damage out of it, in 5v5 I was more of a bunker-healer FB which seems harder to do in 2v2 if your team-mate does not have really good damage. Also is this the necro build people are talking about? https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Necromancer_-_Vanilla_Condi_Necro I have not tried it yet, never really played core necro, I skipped straight to Reaper so it will take time to learn, but also interested in a challenge. I was also wondering about the viability of thief and warrior, I could often 1 v 2 with them on a capture point in 5 v 5. Any viable build for these two professions? Finally, any general tips for winning 2v2, apart from picking broken professions or getting good? :)
  14. How exactly? It has to do with the nature of pulsing abilities, and it’s relationship to subgroups Let’s say for example I have an untraited facet of light on passive mode, and it has a pretend duration of 3 second regeneration. Since the ability pulses every 3 seconds, the ability will apply regeneration to 5 people...no matter how hard I try or whatever configuration I have set up, it will always apply its effect on 5 individuals at any given time. Following this, let’s say we add some concentration so that our regeneration duration has been increase to 9 seconds. If I am in a subgroup of 5 people, regeneration will pulse every 3 seconds, stacking in 9 second intervals, but it will still only pulse on those same 5 individuals cause we are in a subgroup with them (subgroup buff prioritization) Now let’s say we are in our own subgroup in a 20 man squad. Every pulse of regeneration effects 5 people, but each time, based on your relative position to others, will effect a new set of 5 different people with each pulse. Thus the higher the duration of regeneration, the more people you will be able to effect at any given time. Assuming your boons pulse every 3 seconds:3 second duration - 5 people6 second duration - 10 people9 second duration - 15 people12 second duration - 20 people So you pulse: 5 people get 12 seconds of regeneration. On the next pulse those 5 people have 9 seconds of regeneration left, and the new pulse effects a different set of 5 people for 12 seconds. And so at any given moment you will have 5 people with 12 seconds of regen left, 5 people with 9 seconds of regen left, 5 people with 6 seconds of regen left and so on... This effect is expedited when the target number of allies is bigger...so Draconic Echo follows the same pattern except it’s 10,20,30... and so on. Theoretically 40 people is the ultimate maximum for regeneration since it’s duration can last at most 10 seconds...but it’s not just regeneration that this works on. The same thing can be done with Protection, Fury, Swiftness, Might...and every pulsing area of effect buff that can last longer than it’s pulse interval, that you can think of on any class. Are you saying that the game will always give boons to the players who did not receive them in the previous pulse? I always thought the 5 people who get the boons would be random in a subgroup of 20, so you can theoretically give everyone boons but only if the pulse chooses the 5 players you want every time?
  15. ^This, your template for pvp no longer loads automatically, and even before that you might have different weapons equipped while doing open world content. You need that time to swap to your pvp build If I remember correctly the devs did comment on this and said they were aware people do not always queue with the character thay want to play with and they want to give players that flexibility to queue in open world and use that time. I got 100% map completion on two characters while waiting for pvp queues
  16. I have a feeling it might be Jormag. I have not particularly enjoyed any dragon yet, but the way the have set up Jormag in the trailer seems very cool!
  17. Thanks for the input everyone, will try out the suggestions and see how I do :)
  18. Thanks, but giving me a new build us not the same as giving input on my build. I have no idea why you suggest those changes :)
  19. Hi everyone! So I just recently started playing warrior in PVP and I am really enjoying it! I try and mix up what profession I play and am used to Bunker Firebrand, Condi Mirage, and Holosmith, no I am trying something new, only 32 wins on Warrior so far :) I stated playing this build: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Warrior_-_Greataxe and I got used to it and enjoyed it, but then made my own tweaks to fit my playstyle and feedback would be appreciated. So here is my build at the moment:http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PKwAg6FlFwwYKsLGKOWTpvSA-zZJsQyMFKtAiOCUZA I am playing in Gold 3 at the moment EquipmentAvatar Amulet: I wanted more healing power to synergize with Vigorous Shouts without losing too much damageDagger: Loss Aversion trait means it hits harder than axe on a spellbreaker while removing boonsRunes: I am unsure of my rune choices, but still playing around with what is most helpful, very open to suggestions SkillsTo The Limit / Mending: I know that the Healing Signet is Meta, and I understand why, but I have been stuggling with it in high pressure situations. the 1s activation time for these two healing skills is quite harsh, but it has been working. The shout gives some healing to allies, recharges my Full Counter, and gives me more dodges. Which does a lot to mitigate damage overall. Would probably take Mending for heavy condi matchupsShake it off: Nice skill, very metaFor Great Justice: Also meta, love healing and giving might to teamStomp: An unusual choice, but I enjoy the CC, the stunbreak, and the stability it offers. If I had to slot something like Endure pain I would probably swap it for this thoughRampage: Meta choice, still very strong TraitsI am thinking of swapping Leg Specialist for Soldier's ComfortRevenge Counter can be swapped for Magebane Tether if condi pressure is lowOverall my trait choices is trying to give me damage while also giving me a good deal of support for my team Would love to hear thoughts on what I can change. Please let me know what would I lose and what would I gain with tweaks you suggest. Also what would I lose if I dropped Greatsword for an Offhand Axe? Just Mobility?
  20. OK thanks everyone, I think I will repost my skins at a lower price and not risk trying to flip these anymore
  21. Hi Everyone So from what I remember it used to be a good way to make money if you were patient was to flip items available for Black Lion Claim tickets. I had three tickets so I thought I would make extra gold since I am not paying for the skins with gold. So I waited until a good set of skins came up, and on the 25th of June the Bioluminescent weapon skins became available. I looked at the ones I thought were beautiful and also used GW2Spidy to see what was in demand and got three skins which I posted for 100g on the TP. The Bioluminescent weapon skins now cost 3 tickets, and yet they are still the same price on the TP as the day they were released, and the same price as the new (and very beautiful) Seven Reaper Skins. I can easily take my skins off the tp and just repost them, I wont really lose much gold since I did not spend gold on them, but I take it the idea of flipping them using gold is no longer a method for making money? Why has the price of Bioluminescent weapon skins not gone up at all? Any thoughts?
  22. It's timely and appropriate. Anyone that professes they expect more I feel is either unrealistic in their expectations or simply being a provocateur.Players need to be more patient. There is a procedure to the process, one that anyone who works in an organisation with a critical mass of employees that deals with a public/customer-base can appreciate. Thanks for sharing!> @Acheron.4731 said: Thanks for sharing! :)
  23. Yes, but I was recalling how they dealt with the mount skin license uproar where we did get an official response as well as changes which resulted in the addition of the Mount Select License ( https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/15523/a-message-about-the-mount-adoption-license/p1 ). Now the original license was never changed, so I am not sure what we can expect or hope for here I would personally be greatly placated by having the templates separate for each game mode. If I got 3 per game mode I would feel really blessed, so even 2 for WvW and PvP with 3 for PvE would feel fair and a wonderful addition with enough incentive to buy more. I do not think this will negatively affect those who have already purchased them. The price for me is not the main thing, its how few we have due to the lack of a split, and hence the need to buy (it really does not feel like an option) The other feature bugs and shortcomings (like gear swapping changing the template) are fixes which one can also hope for.
  24. Please give us some hope that all the comments in the Feedback Thread are not for nothing and tells us in an official announcement how you intend to respond to the issues raised. The mood, as I read it, it pretty low, feeling that nothing will come of out feedback. An announcement would really help the communication with the player base, by making them feel heard and knowing what they can expect. I have been reading the thread and the issues raised are fairly consistent and can easily be summarized into a few main bullet points. I would just like to know how you as a company feel about the issues raised.
  25. There is no confusion. They just didn't add template, they unhid the previous pve/pvp/wvw template. Before you had 3 hidden templates, one for pve, one of pvp, one for wvw. When they switched, they revealed all 3, but pvp doesn't have an equipment template, because we have the pvp interface instead. This is why there are 3 build templates and 2 equipment templates. The "third" one is the PVP amulet/rune/sigil panel. Guys, the only thing we got from this was the 6 account-bound build storage slots. Everything else was already ingame. Yes, exactly what I am saying, and the new system of doing it is more clunky at times since it saves any changes you make as part of the template @"MoXAriApph.3650" said:I think my main concern is the fact that any and all upsides to the idea of templates have been turned upside-down in this implementation.Features expected of templates: Build templates should promote freedom in building your character. This is currently the main issue everyone has, you have a limit to build templates and it's so arbitrarily low that it's ridiculous. There shouldn't be a limit on how many templates a person can have. The price should also be lowered to match the unlimited templates. If Arenanet/NCSoft is looking for monetization, this is a full on win win for both parties, the data for a template/build is relatively nothing compared to a full new character and data storage is unbelievably cheap. This just seems like the most inane and archaic way to go about this system. Templates will SAVE a build, not BE your build.Traits are saved to the template, rather than your build, this isn't how it should be designed whatsoever. It defeats the purpose entirely and makes swapping less convenient for small trait swaps. Game modes should be split. You guys dropped the ball on this one the most.Just the other day you dropped two new teams for PvP and WvW, that way you could coordinate and design properly, but in build templates you actively go against that design philosophy.By making it so that templates are not split across game-modes, you make people have to buy an entirely new character or manually swap literally everything. Example:Player X likes playing PvE, he has 2 builds on one character. This is entirely fine for normal gameplay.Player Y likes playing Raids and WvW, she has 3 builds for raid and 3 builds for WvW on one character. This is also fine for normal gameplay. Lets Assume Player Y has a Guardian.PvE has Healbrand, Condi Quickbrand and Tankbrand as viable options, but Player Y doesn't use Power Quickbrand or DH in Raids, due to her own reasons, doesn't matter.Player Y in WvW uses Healbrand, TankHealbrand, and uses the last slot for a DH roaming/dueling meme/fun build. Overall this is 6 builds, none of them are excessive and the traits/gear are massively different between each iteration. What if Player Y wants to play PvP? Thats an entirely new build/gear template that is entirely different than the 6 builds mentioned beforehand. Why is Player Y being punished suddenly for actively enjoying and purchasing slots? Legendary Armor should have upsides compared to Normal Gear.Templates currently turn this idea around, you're punished for using legendaries on multiple characters and in some cases on the same character. Monetization should make sense and be productive for both the consumer and provider. As it stands right now, buying build storage is absolutely useless, notepad will literally store your build for you. This makes absolutely no sense from any standpoint, you're actively preying on people who will just press buy because it's an option and they don't know better. Overall I'm glad that build templates are finally in-game, i'm not glad that it came in such a messed up and backwards way. This is genuinely a letdown for any hardcore / semi hardcore player, which, by the way, are the communities who will use this the most.Count me out for promoting or liking this system, it has so many flaws I'm just turned off by it entirely at this point. Leading me to my last point, you guys have consistently in the past year been shooting yourselves in the foot.If you want to genuinely understand what the community wants, actually ask them and be transparent, this is ridiculous.Stop pretending you understand your players and stop sitting in a bubble, because it only goes downhill from here, you're not immune to backlash because you've survived it so many times before.Thank you for articulating this so well, I agree totally
