  1. There's also the door in the inquest base in the Dry Top highlands that looks like it should open up into Gilded Hollow, an area in Malchor's Leap that should lead to Siren's Landing, and there's a suspicious-looking door on the western edge of the Desolation IIRC. I wish they'd open up some of the ones that are obviously supposed to connect like sparkfly fen-southsun. Brisban Wildlands seems to be the king of cut content and placeholder portals. The Dry Top entrance, The fort vandal portal, the bridge to nowhere, and the bandit cave leading to the white mantle base are all there in that one s
  2. Depends on what's important to you. Some of the rewards can be earned once per character, earning free chak and auric weapons, BL keys, Pact weapons, etc. Also in PoF and HoT there are achievements related to choosing a faction. There's 3 factions, so to get all the achievements (and their related rewards), you'll need to go through with at least 3 characters.
  3. Maybe it could involve: Wielding Touch of fogUnlocking all the haunted weapons (A hidden achievement?)Using Ignited Wraith tonicHolding an unused Mad King's Chest keyWielding the Staff of the InevitableUsing a Spooky Ghost or Spooky Skeleton tonicCompleting all 20 years of Halloween Rituals (Annual)
  4. If you want to do dungeons as a low level player, it's doable, but you still want to come in prepared. As long as you're not joining a group advertised as Exp most people probably won't have a problem working with somebody new/low-level as long as they have a decent idea of what they're doing. Some things to keep in mind: Gear up. Nobody's going to expect you to be fully geared up in ascended or even exotic armor, but you're going to want to be decently geared, if only to make it easier on yourself. Buy some rare or better gear on the TP (preferably something with power as the primary stat) an
  5. Were you asking in chat in Lion's Arch, or using the LFG tool? There's plenty of people doing low-level fractals and even dungeons, but you won't find too many of them hanging around LA. That said, a lot of people are doing the Halloween festival right now, so it may take longer than usual to get groups together.
  6. There's actually 2 ways to get to the final platform from the second area, dropping down behind the little hut, and at the opposite end where there are little islands connected by chains, but the jumps are fairly tricky both ways. Try it with a group and watch where they go after phase 2 (and make sure you bring a stun break in case Thorn drops a scarecrow on one of those tiny platforms on the way).
  7. Well, GW2 is a resource-intensive game to begin with, so it may be that, in those other games, you could have used an external program without a noticeable dip in performance, but difficult-to-optimize game like GW2 will take a hit from using 3rd party voice chat programs. What are these other games? Are they also MMORPGs, or are they games with smaller areas and fewer models onscreen at once?
  8. If I do manage to make one of these before Haloween's over, I'm going to hold onto it. Don't want to be caught with my pants down if it gets upgraded even further next year (the text implies there could be two more elemental touches/torches), like all the people who salvaged their first Touch of Madness after unlocking the skin. Now if only there was a class that could dual-wield torches so you could use both.
  9. I see it often enough. Sometimes there will be a group that could have cleared it except for an unfavorable roll on abilities, sometimes a group will roll up to a legendary only to find somebody started and abandoned it 8 minutes earlier and there's no time to finish it, and then you'll sometimes find bounties just chilling by themselves with somebody having started it and not bothered fighting. In any case it leads to a lot of frustration and wasted time. It would be nice to start again right away, but maybe they don't want a failure to be completely consequence-free. One idea, perhaps they
  10. Though I often cheat with gliders, mounts, or mesmer portals when I just want to get my dailies done, I do like JPs and made a point to do all of them without help at least once. Sure the rewards aren't great, but that just means you can enjoy them for what they are instead of feeling like you have to do them to get the loot. I really wish they'd add a few new ones. PoF had one in Kesho, but I can't really remember any others since LW3. I miss the days of new maps almost always coming with a new JP.
  11. NOW THAT THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN WORLDS HAS BEEN WEAKENED BY THE COMMANDER AND KRALKATORRIK, AND HIS ETERNAL RIVAL IS GONE HIS TIME HAS COME!NEXT YEAR, THE MAD MOON WILL BREAK THROUGH THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN THE MISTS AND REALITY BRINGING THE MAD KING BACK TO TYRIATHERE HE WILL LEAD THE LUNATIC COURT TO ORR WHERE HE WILL CLAIM ZHAITAN'S EMPTY THRONE AND USURP THE DOMAIN OF DEATH! /crackpot theory
  12. The OP immediately starts out by saying "Not new to MMOs" I'm REALLY hoping the OP didn't install the game and immediately boost a character to level 80 ... I don't know a greater way to hinder one's self from learning and enjoying the game. Especially if you pop the booster and immediately start the HoT story. I hope nobody ends up having pocket raptors as their first GW2 experience.
  13. Not everything you can spend your BL statuettes on is a good deal. Trading statues for ticket scraps is a terrible exchange rate. Yes, 60 statues will get you a complete ticket, but you could also get 2 guaranteed weapon unlocks with that. Because they outnumber almost every other type of skin, you're almost guaranteed to get black lion weapons out of guaranteed weapon unlocks, if you already have all the common craftable skins (which you might want to get out of the way if you're investing in GUs. Nothing more disappointing than getting "Iron Dagger" out of an unlock). Sure you won't get a ne
  14. I think there is a possibility of new spirit weapons, phantasm/ectoplasm weapons, or even summoned weapons, but they'd need a reason to implement new ones. When new e-specs come out they like to take mechanics from one class and loan it to another. So if we ever see future e-specs give clones, or spirit weapons and the like to other classes, there's a chance we'll get new weapons in those sets. As for Caladbolg, similarly, I think they'd need a reason to add new forms. Maybe if we ever meet Malyck's tree, she might have her own version of Caladbolg with new forms, but otherwise the outlook for
