  1. I do play with different classes quite often, and thats the reason why i think revenant needs a rework. With engineer for instance we always had less weapons, but we are compensated with the belt skills or "Pet" skills and we have the kits as an option, all other classes have 4 utilities of each type of skill, the revenant because the way is done only have 3 utilities per spirit, other thing is that each elite spec on revenant is more a new spirit than a new mechanic, like we saw with every other class. When i mention something similar to the elementalist for the weapon skills was an example, Anet already recycle loads of stuff from other classes, like the Golem on the mechanist, its a ranger pet with a different skin, the dodge on the Vindicator, etc. Devs do recycle stuff from time to time. Like i said at the begining my suggestions are just suggestion, i not asking for all it, if they could at least give me the option to choose the utilities instead of keep changing or something like that i would prefer that. or any other thing really. If you check all other classes they have something very unique, the necro with the shroud, engi with belt and kits, ele with the elements control, the range with the pet controls, i could be here for hours talking about others. I am discussing this class because i do enjoy playing with revenant, but i got bored, the options are very little, with the other classes is much easier to have other builds. When i first heard of revenant i thought they would do something similar to the ritualist in GW1, and could have done it, a mastery for weapon spells for support, a mastery with loads of direct damage for power builds, a spirit build for a more hybrid solution, so much that they could have done. I think that the idea is great of the class, but i think the missed the essence of it.
  2. I would like share my idea of overhaul for this class. Initially I thought this class could be very unique like Mesmer is. got a bit disappointed, personally, with what has been done. I think this can work for either only weapons, or only utility skills or even both taking into account the class limitations. I start with the weapon skills. on these I think it could work like it is for the elementalist , the skill flavor would change depending on what spirit we are using , we could only have 2 option obviously at the time. This would give more skill options for both power builds and for condition builds and even support builds. when we channel a spirit we should get a bonus stats representing that spirit, similar to how pets work with ranger when we merge with them. on the utilities I think the revenant is the worst class, he has less utilities than any other class, and they are not that great some of them. To change this I would give the option to freely select the utility skills depending on the 2 spirits selected, so basically we could choose from 2 healing, 6 utilities and 2 elites skills instead being locked. we would lose the capability of changing utility skills on the go, but weapon skills would match the theme of the spirit, we would get a bonus stats from that spirit plus the mastery mechanic. Although I think all elite masteries need rework. I don’t think they are as impactful as they are in other classes. All seems to be just an extra skill to click with not that much value. thank you
  3. Hello I would like first to say that Anet could have done better on the specializations in general. Most of them are using mechanics from previous specs and others look like copies of each other (Ex. Untamed & Mechanist, and i add that is more fun to play with the Mechanist, my opinion obviously). I have been playing GW franchise for almost 20 years and its my favorite game of all time. So, it kinda hurts to see a bit of lack of imagination. So many things shared between the GW community that sounded so much better but nothing became reality. Now i would like at least to leave my suggestion for the Revenant spec, Vindicator, i think the idea is brilliant but the mechanic is soooo poor. It just flips skills, that's it. The dodge idea is fine, although taken from an existing mechanic, it doesn't feel very normal for this class but its fine. i like the way it plays with the Grandmaster Trait. But in terms of mechanic i think instead of flipping skills each Champion could gives us some passive buff to stats that we then could change between the Champions depending on situation. In terms of skills, and here, this would be "breaking the rules", lets us choose freely between the 2 types of skills related to the Champions and the 4th utility skill that no Revenant spec have.
  4. After all the things I have been reading. Maybe it is a good call for Anet explore the VR world. People are really waiting for a good MMORPG on VR. I was playing Zenith VR this week and it is there. The very first of its kind. It's good, all the features of a MMO are there. Only thing is that since they are doing the game for the Standalone Quest 2 headset the graphics could be better if it was a PCVR only game. But it is possible. I can only hope for one day to be in Tyria with my headset.
  5. I am also counting on that. I just hope that by having high expectations, if it doesn't deliver for some reason, I might just go back to the game once or twice a year just to check stuff, instead of playing every day. Since they have made some bad decisions in the past and they lost alot of players. If they, by any chance screw this up with EoD, it might be the end of the franchise. I feel like this expansion is the 'Do or Die' for Anet. I just truly hope that they do it.
  6. I truly hope that EoD can change the game direction. Like I said I have been playing GW since prophecies and I went through the story. And in GW1 apart from the graphic limitations and you couldn't jump etc. I think overall it still is a better game. With GW2 Anet tried to please everyone and that backfired. Let's see.
  7. The point is discussing our opinions. All i am saying is that after what they did with Jormag and Primordus will you expectation be positive or are you already thinking that EoD will be just another expansion without anything to offer. Anet probably will give the Tengo as race to feed us for a bit, but that wont last. If you compare what they offered on Guild wars 1 and what they have been giving us with Guild Wars 2 releases it is alot less. GW1 gave us new weapons, classes, maps, story lines, etc.
  8. I play Guild Wars since the very first and the story as been always good and engaging. But Since Guild Wars 2 release it seems the story went to the background it does not seem to be important anymore. So many things that could have been done, and all we get is rushed versions of story. I created this poll because i don't know if i will continue playing GW2. It all depends of the expansion coming. But this means that my expectations are too high. So you see my dilema. I have been playing GW with my friends and i have made new friends withing the game. I have been playing this game for almost 20 years and now i thinking on stopping because of the state of the game. Let me know if you share my concern for the Game. And enjoy, at least while you can.
  9. Hey ppl. Just check VR news. There's companies making millions already on VR games. Still saying that the VR market is too small? i really think if Anet wants to bet on VR the next 5 years are the perfect timing.
  10. I agree with you. thats why i think that Anet could start doing something about it. Take a look at Zenith. Its a VRMMO. and the market is so thirsty for a VRMMO that they got the kickstarter in 3 hours.
  11. Also 1.7% of steam users have a VR headset. Of those only a small fraction has last generation headsets, most are old kitten because very little has happened the last couple of years (HP Reverb G2 bringing much, much better lenses+resolution and Occulus Quest 2 using a more modern SoC are pretty much it). So no. The market isnt already big. Its tiny. Tiny enough to really only make tiny games viable. SC and AC in VR? Probably the eqvivalent of mobile games compared to their big brothers. Wouldnt surprise me the slightest if AC VR in particular will have a world like walking dead, slices of a city you do some parkour in. We're just not there yet. Splinter Cell and Assassins Creed were just examples of big companies starting to invest on VR. I wasn't comparing the VR market with the PC or console market. But i do believe that there is timing to invest. Also i didn't say that they should invest now. i was saying that they should think about it for the next 5 years. There are already good games on VR you should check if you don't believe. Fighting mechanics are improving with every game. And as a Guild Wars fan for many years i truly would like to see this franchise to make a difference like they always wanted. When the VR market is big enough i am sure that Blizzard will invest on it and with the background they have if there is nothing on VR yet they will rule the VRMMO like they do the PC MMO world. thats why i think that Anet has a chance to do something big.
  12. On the point of losing players, they lost loads of players from Guild Wars 1. Loads of players from the first game don't like GW2. So I think no matter what they do they will always lose some. The question is how many can they win. The VR market is already big, this year alone there's 3 MMORPG being launched. Ubisoft is developing Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed for VR. And there's many more. I just started this thread because I strongly believe that with Anet background they could make in VR what WoW did on pc.Obviously I am not saying now. But for the next 5 years probably. Like a next project. Like they did with GW2. It was announced and release 5 years or so later.
  13. That would by definition pretty much be a spin off.It wouldn't be part of the core Gw2 game.. but a separate product in it's own isolated stand alone story but based in the same universe. It could be technically a sequel or prequel but it wouldn't be a Guildwars 3 nor would it be part of Guildwars 1 or 2.. so it would be a spin off because of that. Nothing wrong with a spin off though, there are plenty of great spin off games out there. Some have even spawned their own iconic franchises such as Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart and a more recent one, Hyrule Warriors.Definitely not a negative thing ^^You are right. I really do think that GW on VR sould be their next goal after finishing off GW2. Something in 5 years time or so. Maybe one more expansion for GW2 and then try out the VR world. Either that or GW world will die in 10 years or so. Unless there is miracle. Specially, if i am right, with all new MMO RPGs coming out for VR this year and the next, that will take alot of people out of the PC screen based MMO. And the better they become the more people go for them. So Anet should take advantage of their background and experience and lack of good VR MMORPGs at the moment. But again. I am a nobody and most likely the Devs wont even look at this thread. But is still good to dream.
  14. I think Archeologists will find stuff for fun then that if you think about it. hehehe But it as been always like that. If you could visit the past and showed a phone these days they would think you are the devil or something. lol
